Robert De Niro and Robert Pattinson’s Idol’s Eye ceases production

Production on Robert De Niro and Robert Pattinson's 'Idol's Eye' has been shut down.
The heist thriller, which was to star De Niro, Pattinson and 'The Mummy' actress Rachel Weisz, has ceased production just days before filming was set to commence in Toronto, Canada.
The movie's production company, Benaroya Pictures said in a statement: "Due to the criteria for financing not being met by producers, Benaroya Pictures has formally decided to discontinue financing the motion pictured titled 'Idol's Eye'."
The film was to be directed by film maker Oliver Assaya, following on from his Cannes Film Festival entry 'Clouds of Sils Maria', which starred Juliette Binoche and Pattinson's 'Twilight' co-star and former girlfriend Kristen Stewart.
Benaroya Pictures boarded the project as producer and financer earlier this year, shortly after De Niro had signed on to star.
Shooting for 'Idol's Eye' was originally scheduled to begin last month in Chicago and Toronto but Benaroya Pictures - who have previously made films including 'Margin Call', 'Kill Your Darlings' and the upcoming Pattinson co-starring 'Queen of the Desert - claim they were forced to shut down production after other producers failed to meet financing deadlines.

The 'Break Free' hitmaker has teamed up with electronic music project Major Lazer for a track to feature on the upcoming film sequel's soundtrack, which is being curated by Lorde.
The 'Royals' singer previously released snippets of what fans could expect to hear on the collection, including her own track 'Yellow Flicker Beat' and her collaboration with the Chemical Brothers and Miguel titled 'This Is Not a Game'.
The track list also featured names including Kanye West, Chvrches and Charlie XCX, while "Track 5" had been left blank, until now.
Lorde took to her Twitter account yesterday (03.11.14) to announce that Ariana and Major Lazer had joined forces on a song called 'All My Love'.
She wrote: "yup.. track 5 from mockingjay: part 1 soundtrack is ALL MY LOVE - @MAJORLAZER feat. the one and only angel pipes sista @ArianaGrande (sic)."
She later retweeted a message from Ariana herself which simply read: "all my love (sic)."
'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' is set for release on November 21 while the soundtrack is expected to be available on November 17.

Kim Kardashian West wasn’t invited to Kendall Jenner’s birthday

Kim Kardashian West wasn't invited to Kendall Jenner's birthday party.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, 34, was surprised to hear her half-sister hadn't included her in 19th birthday celebrations yesterday (03.11.14), according to younger sister Khloe Kardashian.
Khloe said: "I asked Kim, 'Oh are you going tonight?' And she was like, 'I didn't know Kendall was doing anything!'
"I don't know if she was late to be invited, but I'm invited, so I feel good about that!'"
The 30-year-old beauty - who recently branded sister Kourtney Kardashian, 35, a b***h for her behaviour during her relationship with rapper French Montana - also revealed what budding supermodel Kendall had planned for her big day.
She told PEOPLE magazine: "We're going to a family lunch, and then later tonight Kendall's having like 15 people over for a little girls' party. I don't know if it's even a party, but a girls' gathering. It will be fun!"
Khloe went on to gush about how much of a proud big sister she is of Kendall.
She added: "It's crazy because she's still so young, but then at the same time I'm like, 'She's so old because she's done so much', especially in the past year.
"She's just a goofy girl and I love that about her. I want her to stay that way."

Mel B given new ÂŁ20,000 wedding ring

Mel B's husband surprised her with a new £20,000 wedding ring.
The 'X Factor' and 'America's Got Talent' judge has revealed her husband of seven years, Stephen Belafonte, treated her to a new diamond ring on the weekend after promising to upgrade it every three years.
Mel explained: "My husband turned up today and I thought something was wrong and then he just handed me this massive sparkler of a ring.
"I thought, 'Oh m God'. It's so big, it's so gorgeous, I absolutely love it."
The 39-year-old former Spice Girls star - who has daughter Madison with Stephen - added that he had bought the rock from Leon Diamond jewellers in New York and flown all the way to the UK to present her with it.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He's very sweet like that my husband. Every couple of years he gets me an upgrade."
Meanwhile, Mel - who also has daughters Angel and Phoenix Chi from previous relationships - has confessed 'X Factor' boss Simon Cowell has been in touch to tell her how well he thinks she's doing on her first series of the talent show.
She explained: "Simon is very sweet, I woke up this morning to an amazing email from him. It was really long and he told me how proud he was of me.
"He said how thrilled he was that I was part of the 'X Factor' family and he thinks I'm doing great. That means a lot to me."

Ed Sheeran: Music is overcrowded

Ed Sheeran thinks the music industry is "overcrowded".
The 'Thinking Out Loud' hitmaker recently joined his friend Sam Smith on stage at his gig in Manchester last week and he thinks it is a shame too many other artists are too "competitive" to help and support their chart rivals.
He said: "Sam's had the same outlook as me, we both hero-worship classic musicians from 20,30, 40 years ago and they all hung out and sung together.
"The music industry is so overcrowded and competitive these days that everyone is fighting for a spot at the top and no one wants to jump on stage with another or help each other out. It's nice when that happens."
Ed has a host of celebrity fans who have attended his gigs but he was most surprised when Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson appeared at his dressing room door looking to get his picture taken with him.
He said: "Sometimes you get pre-warned because usually they want to come back and say hi. Who was least expected? Samuel L. Jackson, who turned up on the tube. He got the tube, watched the gig, came back for a selfie with me and then b*****ed off."
Ed admits he sometimes favours public transport in London because it is efficient, but he would rather travel alone.
He added on 'The Official Chart' on BBC Radio 1: "I get the tube now and again but that's not to prove anything, it's just because there's a lot of traffic.
"I like sitting in cars more than the tube but it is easier to get the tube."

James Blunt uninterested in Twitter notoriety

James Blunt doesn't give a "f**k" about being a Twitter sensation.
The 'When I Find Love Again ' singer/songwriter has gained a reputation for his frank responses on Twitter, but Blunt has now admitted that he is not bothered with his sudden surge of popularity on the social networking site.
When asked by the new issue of heat magazine what the biggest misconception about him is, James replied: "That I give a f**k."
The 40-year-old singer also explained he was forced to sign up to the site in 2009 by his record label.
He shared: "My record label set up the account and asked me to answer people, so I did. Then they phoned me up and asked me to stop.
"Twitter is just people's opinions, and opinions are like a**eholes - everyone has one."
Speaking about some of his best replies to messages from haters or online trolls, James revealed that he often thinks them up on the spot before revealing that he offers support to people who are getting bullied as a result of his quips.
He told the publication: "The best ones are always the most spontaneous.
"Some have been funnier than others. If I think the person I'm replying to might be harassed as a result, I DM [Direct Message] them to say it's all in good humour, and if any of my followers give them hassle, they can let me know. I don't want it to be part of that hate-filled cycle that seems to purvey though the internet."

Carey Mulligan was a ‘neurotic’ child

Carey Mulligan has revealed she was "neurotic" during her childhood.
Although she was a very confident youngster, the 29-year-old actress was always nervous whenever exam periods came around and suffered from anxiety.
She said "I was confident but I was so neurotic. On a few occasions, I threw up before tests. I was anxious about being tested, for some reason."
The 'Suffragette' star, her brother and their hotelier parents moved around a lot when the actress was younger and she admits that, as a result, she has to try hard not to change herself in an attempt to fit in.
Speaking in the new issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, she said: "I moved around a lot, so I always had to meet new people. I was never the most popular or the most interesting person ... It took me a long time to stop adapting my personality to others."
And even from a young age Carey's biggest passion was acting, and she admits she was much more confident about her performances back then.
She said: "I've got more nervous now. But I wasn't remotely nervous when I was younger.
"I had a great time at school, but I wasn't massively interested in doing much apart from drama."
The full interview and cover shoot with Carey appears in the December Women of the Year issue of Harper's Bazaar, on sale November 4.

Sir Ian McKellen says ‘luck’ has been key to success

Sir Ian McKellen has attributed much of his recent success to "luck".
The award-winning actor - who was knighted in 1991 for services to the performing arts and was awarded a Freeman of the city of London last month - says a number of his contemporaries would have fared as well in the iconic role of Gandalf in 'The Lord of the Rings', including John Hurt.
Speaking at TimesTalks London, Sir Ian - who was sat beside his 'Vicious' co-star Sir Derek Jacobi - remarked: "We have been so lucky right throughout our careers. It's not just actors our age who perhaps don't work anymore. We've had friends right throughout our careers - of our age - who didn't have work, who should have had work.
"We're no better than a whole lot of people. But genuinely, being quite honest about it all, it's luck. John Hurt could've played Gandalf."
The 75-year-old star has also starred in the 'X-Men' films as Magneto and in a recent interview, he claimed the comic book story is an metaphor for young gay men.
Sir Ian - who came out as gay in 1988 - said: "The people who created 'X-Men' were writing a parable about the way society treated minorities - and the demographic for the comics over the years has been young blacks, young Jews and young gays. They all identify with the mutants - and they're meant to."

Cindy Crawford loves table-dancing

Cindy Crawford loves to dance on tables.
The 48-year-old supermodel - who has a 16-year-old son, Presley, with her husband Rande Gerber - has confessed she loves to let her hair loose and boogie on the furniture at parties.
According to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column, the brunette beauty wishes she had picked up the habit sooner as she finds she "jiggles" more now than she did in her younger years.
She told Michigan Avenue magazine: "I probably should have done it when I was 20 and things weren't jiggling so much."
Cindy also showed off her wild side when she splashed a staggering $30,000 on a nude portrait at a recent party launching the artwork of Brian Bowen Smith.
The US-born beauty and her husband bought the fine-art photograph of naked women wearing horses' heads at Smith's first show at the De Re Gallery in Los Angeles, California earlier this week.
The debut collection, titled 'Wildlife', features nude women wearing animal masks, with the identity of each subject - who are said to be celebrities, actors and models - kept secret.
He is also the protégé of the late fashion photographer Herb Ritts, for whom Crawford posed for some of her most famous nude and fashion shots, most notably the famed 'Stephanie, Cindy, Christy, Tatjana, Naomi, Hollywood, 1989' feature for Rolling Stone magazine.
