Jonathan Ross won’t quit for US show

Jonathan Ross won't work in the US.
The 53-year-old talk show host has admitted he isn't ready to take 'The Jonathan Ross Show' across the pond as he doesn't feel he can compete with popular presenters Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel, who also front their own late night talk shows.
Speaking at the Cinemoi and Fashion Film Network's annual international awards in Los Angeles, he said: "The No. 1 guy at the moment is Jimmy Fallon. You wouldn't want to come out here and take on Jimmy. You're never going to be up there with him.
"And Jimmy Kimmel is doing great still.
"I don't have the appetite to conquer new territory. I am still really happy working in the UK."
Jonathan - who has hosted the ITV show since 2011 - has already turned down opportunities to crack the US, preferring to put the needs of his wife Jane Goldman and their three children, Betty, Honey and Harvey, first.
He explained: "Years ago I was offered a show here. We didn't come over because the kids were growing up and were happy at school. And we were really happy there.
"It's not really on my agenda, and they've got so much talent here - why would they need to look elsewhere? - they don't."
Although Jonathan won't be heading to America to advance his own career, he is prepared to make the move for his screenwriter wife, who helped pen 'X-Men: First Class' and 'Kick-Ass'.
He said: "I wouldn't consider moving here for work. I'd consider working here because my wife has so much work in the US now. She writes big movies for big studios.
"But really, our life is in the UK. It's where my kids go to school, where they are still."

Conan O’Brien won’t follow celebrities

Conan O'Brien refuses to follow celebrities on Twitter.
The 51-year-old talk show host randomly selected one person to follow in 2010 - fan Sarah Killen - and has yet to add to his list, often refusing celebrity pals who ask him to connect on the social networking site.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I've had so many celebrities [ask] ... I ran into Slash a couple of years ago and Slash said, 'Hey man, follow me on Twitter!' and I said, 'No, I only follow one person.' And he's like, 'Who?', and I said, 'Sarah Killen', and he's like, 'Who's that?' and I go, 'She lives in Michigan.'
"I've had people that want me to follow, like Slash. They say, 'Will you follow me?' and I say, 'Can't do it. I'm committed to one person.' "
Conan changed the life of his lucky fan, who became a viral sensation and even had companies vying to pay for her wedding due to her internet infamy.
The irreverent star said: "When I met her she was single but now she's got kids, her whole life has changed since I met her. But I loved her, she was very straight-forward ... she was the perfect person to choose."
The 'Conan' host recently joined Tinder in a skit for his show, which also featured hunky actor Dave Franco, and he admits he is "fascinated" by the mobile phone app which allows users to find potential love matches based on common interests.
He said: "All my staff was on Tinder, so I had to find out what this is all about so I did that remote [skit] with Dave Franco. I was just fascinated by it - it's a new world. I don't know how I would have dealt with that if I was in my twenties, I wouldn't have had the nerve to put myself out there like that."
Conan's talk show is set to launch in the UK next week and it seems there's plenty of action behind-the-scenes as well as on camera.
Talking about his staff's Tinder habits, he quipped: "I think, yes, it is a big orgy, my show - you should get that out there, 'Come visit the set of Conan in Los Angeles because it is a non-stop orgy.' I'm not part of it because of my own inadequacies, but that's what it's like backstage."
Catch 'Conan' on new free to air channel truTV (11pm Monday-Thursday from 4th August) - channel number 68, the home of larger-than-life characters in real situations.

Drew Barrymore’s half-sister death an accident?

Drew Barrymore's half-brother doesn't believe their half-sister committed suicide.
Jessica Barrymore was found dead in her car by a neighbour on Tuesday (29.07.14) with pills reportedly scattered around her but John Barrymore - who shared a father, late actor John Drew Barrymore, with his half-siblings - thinks she took an accidental overdose, rather than deliberately taking her own life, comparing the tragedy to the death of Heath Ledger, who overdosed on prescription medication in 2008.
He told the New York Daily News newspaper: "It looks like it was a drug misadventure. Mixing alcohol and pills. I seriously doubt she took her own life.
"There were some empty vodka bottles, a couple bags of meth and a variety of pills in the car. My guess is that it was the booze and pills, like with Heath Ledger.
"She visited her mom the day before, and her mom is almost gone. It was hard for her to see her. I doubt she tried to kill herself, though . . . I predict it will be that -- mixing booze and pills and taking too many.
"I'm going to miss Jessica. She was a kindred spirit. She knew laughing is what saves us all."
John admitted the half-siblings barely knew one another and had met together only once to scatter their father's ashes.
Following the news of Jessica's death, 39-year-old Drew - who has two daughters, Olive, 22 months, and Frankie, three months, with her husband, Will Kopelman - paid tribute to her older half-sibling.
She said in a statement:"Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible and I'm so incredibly sorry for their loss."

Kate Hudson: ‘Heath Ledger was best kisser’

Kate Hudson says Heath Ledger was her best ever on-screen kiss.
The 35-year-old actress - who has sons Ryder, 10, from her marriage to Matt Bellamy, and Bingham, three, with fiance Matt Bellamy - has shared smooches with some of Hollywood's hunkiest leading men including Matthew McConaughey and Billy Crudup but admitted her late 'Four Feathers' co-star was her favourite.
Speaking on 'Watch What Happens Live' with Andy Cohen, Kate said: "I would say my favourite one was Heath [Ledger. That was pretty excellent."
"He was just so beautiful and sweet and gentle. I would say that, I look back at all of the... and that was really... he was lovely."
Heath died from an accidental overdose in 2008 at the age of just 28.
When speaking of her favourite on-screen kiss, Kate didn't upset her 'Wish I Was Here' co-star and director Zach Braff, who was right beside her, even though she didn't mention him.
The caller who posed the question to her made sure that Zach wouldn't feel left out by saying: "Who's been your best kisser from all your movie stars, or your costars? Excluding Zach, cause I'm sure Zach is a good kisser."
A grateful Zach replied: "Thank you, darling! Thank you for saying, 'present company excluded.'"

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden considering marriage?

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have "already discussed marriage".
Although the 41-year-old actress and the 35-year-old musician have only been dating for a few months, they are already practically living together and friends don't think it will be long before we hear wedding bells.
A source told PEOPLE: "It's early, but they have talked about marriage.
"Benji spends so much time at Cameron's that it seems he now kind of lives there. They look very happy together ... Cameron hasn't looked this happy for years."
Benji met Cameron's family during a recent trip to Florida and the actress was delighted to show off the rocker.
A friend said: "It seemed important to Cameron that Benji met her family, and she looked very proud to introduce him to everyone. They were very sweet to each other, constantly kissing and flirting. It was obvious that they had a great vacation."
Nicole Richie recently revealed she takes full "responsibility" for Benji and Cameron getting together.
The 32-year-old socialite - who is married to the former Good Charlotte rocker's twin brother Joel Madden - "approves" of the couple's new relationship and admitted she was the one who got them together.
Asked if she set them up, she said: "Yes. I'm going to take responsibility for everything!"
Nicole - who has children Harlow, six, and Sparrow, four, with Joel - is delighted her brother-in-law has found happiness with the 'Sex Tape' actress in recent months.
She added: "I approve of anything that's going to make Benji happy.
"I am a devoted sister-in-law. I'm happy for anyone who is happy, and I want everyone to be surrounded with love."

Leonardo DiCaprio cheered on Bloom in Bieber fight

Leonardo DiCaprio and Lindsay Lohan cheered on Orlando Bloom after he tried to hit Justin Bieber.
The 'Lord of the Rings' actor reportedly swung a punch at the 'Baby' singer at Cipriani restaurant in Ibiza in the early hours of Wednesday (30.07.14) morning and other guests at the bash at the eatery found the incident amusing.
Anastasia Skolkova, a model and journalist from Spain who witnessed the incident, told the Daily Mirror online: "When Orlando punched Bieber, everyone started clapping. People were shouting, 'What a show! Justin and Orlando fighting. What a show!' Lindsay [Lohan] was laughing. It was amazing.
"The whole table he and DiCaprio were on were clapping. Afterwards, I don't know if people were congratulating Orlando or trying to calm him down."
Although Orlando - who had been having dinner with Leonardo before the scuffle - threw the first punch, Justin was thrown out as he allegedly started it by mouthing off about Orlando's ex-wife Miranda Kerr, who the singer was romantically linked with while they were still married.
Anastasia said: "He was thrown out of the place, and then Orlando continued the party. After about 10 minutes, Orlando also went away. DiCaprio and some other friends stayed behind."
And while Lindsay initially found the altercation hilarious, she reportedly did try to calm Justin down as he left.
Anastasia said: "Lindsay Lohan tried to get Bieber a little bit calm when he went away to the exit but he was like, 'I don't want to speak to anyone.' "

Prince Harry kept busy with Invictus Games

Britain's Prince Harry says preparing for the Invictus Games has become his full time job.
While the 29-year-old royal insisted he is still in the Army, he admitted everything has taken a backseat to making sure everything is in order for the sporting event in September.
Speaking to Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2's breakfast show, he said: "This is basically my full time job at the moment is making sure that we pull this off. It's been a real struggle actually. Anyone listening out there I would say, if you're going to try and plan something this big in under a year make sure you've either got Sir Keith Mills with you or don't bother doing it at all. No it's been great and it means I get to spend more time with these guys which is fantastic."
And Harry revealed the games are being held in order to help injured servicemen and women cope while undergoing rehabilitation.
He said: "The point of them is to basically use the power of sport to help these guys through the rehabilitation. And it's basically a pathway to allow the wounded, injured and sick communities within the UK - and across the board as well because we've got 14 nations coming to it - giving them a pathway back into employment. A lot of these individuals, girls and guys, that have been injured get into that very, sort of, negative state of mind and actually it's a lot easier to stay out of the way of everybody else because, you know, you get anxiety and you're trying to rebuild your life. You know, these guys are a credit to the country so to give them a chance to come out and inspire others around them, whether they be military or whether they be civilian, to show how they've come from that to competing in amongst 430 other competitors in the Invictus Games in London in front of 55,000 people is absolutely incredible."

Robin Gibb’s final solo album to be released

Robin Gibb's final solo album will be released in September.
'50 St. Catherine's Drive' has been completed by Robin's wife Dwina and son RJ following the singer's death in May 2012 and it includes most of the tracks originally recorded for the record, along with the last songs written and recorded by Robin.
The final track on the album, 'Sydney' is also the very last song recorded by Robin and his wife explained how he had wanted to work on it with his brother, Bee Gees bandmate Barry.
She said: "Robin composed this late at night, in August 2011, at our home, The Prebendal. He used the bedroom keyboards and then Garageband on an I-Pad. He wished to finish this song in a studio with Barry, for a new album he hoped they would record together, but his health prevented this.
"He missed his twin brother Maurice who had passed away; but when he closed his eyes, the three young brothers were back in Sydney, Australia, happy together with their dreams and hopes for the future.
"Their future creations of course affected the world. This fragment of song is poignant, wistful, beautiful and unfinished. It belongs on this album as one of his last works. He cried when he wrote it, and I wept when I heard it."
'50 St. Catherine's Drive' is the address of the house where Robin was born in Douglas on the Isle of Man.
It will be released on 29 September 2014

Foo Fighters complete ‘epic’ new album

Foo Fighters have completed work on their "epic" new album.
Producer Butch Vig took to his Twitter account to reveal that the album - which was recorded in eight different studios in eight states across America - is finally finished.
He wrote: "We are officially done with the new Foo Fighters album. 23 straight days mixing! IT'S EPIC!!!"
Their last album was 2011's 'Shining Light' and this one will be accompanied by a documentary series 'Sonic Highways', depicting the recording process.
It will air on HBO in the US with frontman Dave Grohl as director.
Meanwhile, news of the album's completion comes just after it was announced that Foo Fighters will headline the Jaguar Land Rover Invictus Games closing concert.
The US rockers will lead a star-studded line-up including Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams, The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks and James Blunt, when they perform at the event in London on September 14, their first UK gig in some time.
The gig will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London to celebrate Invictus Games, launched by Prince Harry to use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect of those who serve their country.
Foo Fighters said: "Invictus games, look out...THE FOO FIGHTERS ARE COMING. What a perfect way to finally return to the UK for the first time in years...been waaaay too long! Thanks for having us, it is truly an honour to come play for these incredible men and women. Can't wait to do our thing for you..."

Kerry Washington was unsure about TV

Kerry Washington wasn't sure about swapping her film career for TV.
The 'Scandal' actress has earned two Emmy Award nominations for her role as quick-witted political fixer Olivia Pope in the hit US drama, but she admits she almost didn't make the jump to the small screen after finding success in Hollywood films such as 'Ray' and 'Django Unchained'.
She said: "At first I thought, 'Why would I want to do a TV show, I have a flourishing movie career?' But it's so rare that we see a woman on top of the story that the more I read of the scripts, the more I was hooked into it."
Kerry has previously been cast in supporting roles as the wife of a lead character, so playing a strong, confident woman in charge was a nice change.
She explained: "It's exciting to be at the centre of the story and I'm proud to be part of something as a woman who is her own woman, not as an accessory or as someone's wife."
The 37-year-old beauty is as widely praised for her wardrobe as she is for her character in the drama, but she doesn't get to keep any of Olivia's coveted fashions.
Kerry told the Metro newspaper: "I wish! I had lots of discussions with Lyn Paolo, the designer, about how we wanted Olivia to look. We wanted it to seem like she has a closet so in each episode you see her wearing the same things, mixing and matching, so I'm not allowed to take anything home."
'Scandal' Season 3 starts tonight (31.07.14) at 9pm on Sky Living.

Peter Capaldi thought he was too old for Who

Peter Capaldi thought he was too old for 'Doctor Who'.
The 56-year-old actor is to make his debut as the titular Time Lord next month but he admits he had given up hope of landing the coveted role as he thought producers would replace predecessor Matt Smith, 31, with an actor similar in age.
Peter told Entertainment Weekly magazine: "I wouldn't have thought I would be the guy. I wouldn't have thought it would be me, because of my age. I would have thought they were automatically heading younger."
He then quipped: "I'm technically too young for the part, because he's over 2,000 years old!"
Executive producer Steven Moffat insists Peter isn't too old for the part because there's "no right age to be the Doctor".
He explained: "I did say, 'No, we probably won't end up with another quirky young man.' I didn't think there was any space around Matt to have another Doctor of that kind, because he sort of sums up what you could do with that. I very, very quickly - very quickly - just thought about Peter."
Peter will be joined on his adventures by Jenna Coleman, reprising her role as Clara Oswald, in the eighth series.
Guest stars include singer Foxes, 'Line of Duty' actress Keeley Hawes and comedian Frank Skinner.
