Bo Bruce has slammed ‘The Voice’, describing the show as a "less successful version of ‘The X Factor’ ".
The 29-year-old singer appeared on the programme in 2012 to help kick-start her career and despite finishing second in the competition, she is clearly not a fan anymore as she insists the show has lost its "edge" and is not as good as its ITV rival.
Speaking at the Sony Hi-Res Audio exhibition at Proud Galleries Camden in north London last night (19.11.14), she said: "I can’t help but see it as a less successful version of ‘X Factor’ now – it’s definitely lost its edge."
Bo doesn’t appear to have tuned into the final of this year’s show because she failed to recognise the competition’s reigning champion Jermain Jackman at the London-based event.
A source said: "Bo admitted she hasn’t watched any of the show since appearing in it herself, so much so she claimed not to know who Jermain Jackman, winner of the 2014 show, was when he stood next to her at the bar."
The star’s stint on ‘The Voice’ was shrouded in controversy as she was romantically linked to her mentor Danny O’Donoghue, and she has described her experience on the programme as a "very hard time for me".
But she doesn’t appear to be in touch with The Script singer anymore as he recently insisted the pair no longer speak to one another.
Talking in September, he said: "She had a single out that I helped her with but that was the last contact I had with her.
"It’s just one of those things that we’re not in touch anymore."
Bo was at the launch of the Sony Hi-Res Audio exhibition at Proud Galleries Camden. The exhibition features never-been-seen-before images of music acts such as The Beatles and runs until Dec 3, 2014.
