Band Aid 30 raises 1m in five minutes

The Band Aid 30 single raised £1 million in just five minutes.
Organiser and co-writer Bob Geldof admits the pre-release demand for the reworked version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas Time?' - which was debuted during 'The X Factor' results show on Sunday (16.11.14) has been "bonkers" and he is overwhelmed by the response so far.
He told BBC Radio 4: "It's gone manic. That's the digital age. We promoted the single on 'X Factor', Simon Cowell gave us five minutes of the show last night.
"Within four or five minutes of leaving the show we had a million quid. That's extraordinary.
"From what we're seeing now from iTunes it's gone bonkers. The pre-orders of the thing were ridiculous."
Within an hour of being made available for download yesterday (17.11.14), the track - which features stars including One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Bono, Elbow, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding - was number one on the iTunes chart.
A physical release will be available from December 8, costing £4. All proceeds will go towards helping the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
Meanwhile, the Boomtown Rats frontman laughed off claims he had been "snubbed" by Adele, who refused to take his calls asking her to appear on the track, insisting he respected her current wish to stay out of the spotlight.
He said: "Adele is just parked off.
"She's not writing, she's not recording, she's not doing interviews, she's not doing gigs - she is somewhere else in her life.
"I didn't ring her because I didn't have her number. I would have if I'd had her number, but then she'd have had to explain to me and you don't have to explain to me!
"If that's what you want to do, it's completely correct that you do that, and her manager - who's a very funny guy and a very nice guy says 'she doesn't even pick up the phone to me, you know?'
"And that's right - that is where she's at and there's lots of artists like that so, you know, absolutely fair play."

Pat Sharp rooting for Mark Wright on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

Pat Sharp is rooting for Mark Wright to win 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 53-year-old DJ famously struck up a friendship with the former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star in the 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' jungle in 2011 and he's now confessed he believes Mark has what it takes to be crowned champion of the BBC One celebrity dance contest.
Pat exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "He's doing really well, I think he could win it! He's really got the hang of it because on the first one he was absolutely terrible, just awful!
"And now it's like, anything Mark does, he takes it on and he works really hard at it. He wasn't a television presenter or a radio presenter but now he does all of that, he is really good."
The former 'Fun House' star - who is currently appearing alongside a host of other celebrities in new online series 'Staff Room' - also revealed that Mark has even started putting on performances outside of the Strictly ballroom, with the help of his mum Carol.
He said: "We were at a party for his brother Josh's 25th birthday and Mark was dancing with his mum and Carol was in a dress looking amazing and Mark was in a suit as he'd just come straight from Strictly. They were doing a proper dance routine for everyone and they were brilliant."

Bobby Norris sends support to Gemma Collins

Bobby Norris has praised Gemma Collins, calling her a "tough cookie".
The 33-year-old 'Only Way Is Essex' star - who is currently appearing on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here' - was seen crying on the show's launch night (16.09.14) after refusing to be flown in a helicopter.
Speaking of the incident, Bobby said: "I am still in shock by the launch night shenanigans. Gemma is one tough cookie - usually on our holidays she is the one holding my hand on the flights.
"To see her freak out like that when they boarded the helicopter was really out of character so I can't help but worry how she is handling it."
The 28-year-old television personality is due to fly to Australia soon to appear on the ITV2 spin-off show and is hoping his pal will still be in the competition by the time he arrives.
He said: "I hope that by the time I get to Oz she is still in the jungle and hasn't walked!"
"The Gem I know is gutsy, she just needs to dig deep and find a bit of courage.
"Moving from Essex to the Oz jungle is bound to take a little while to settle in."
Meanwhile, Bobby has revealed his plan to curb Gemma's hunger levels in the jungle.
He explained to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It sounds like hunger is getting to her already - I want to parachute her in a Big Mac meal, with six nuggets on the side a strawberry milkshake and some wedges as I know she would love that!"

Solange Knowles celebrated in the streets

Solange Knowles danced through the streets of New Orleans after her wedding.
The 28-year-old singer tied the knot with videographer Alan Ferguson on Sunday (16.11.14) and after the ceremony and a sit-down dinner, the couple loaded their guests onto three party buses, which drove to Esplanade Street, where a live band played and the group danced for 10 blocks before making their way to the New Orleans Museum of Art for a second reception.
And Solange's sister, Beyonce, and her husband Jay Z seemed to be having a particularly good time.
A source said: "Beyonce and Jay Z were totally into it and so affectionate. They both kept putting their hands on each other's butts and they were dancing up a storm. Beyonce and Jay Z were so friendly to everyone and very gracious. They seemed so genuinely happy. They were having the best night."
The happy couple - who live in New Orleans with Solange's son Julez, 10, from a previous marriage - arrived at the Holy Trinity Church on white bicycles, but the 51-year-old groom had to walk part of the way because he got a flat tire, much to their amusement.
The source told Us Weekly magazine: "They were giggling about it and didn't seem bothered at all. Passers-by were congratulating them, and they were overjoyed."
After the ceremony, the venue - which is also known as the Marigny Opera House - was transformed for the reception, where guests were seated on two long tables for a four-course dinner which included shrimp and grits, oyster and artichoke bisque, paupiette de poulet, and bread pudding and pineapple foster for dessert.
Solange donned two edgy looks for the wedding - a Stephane Rolland jumpsuit with an attached cape and Humberto Leon for Kenzo floor-length gown and cape - and insiders say the DJ was determined her big day would be "all about" music and fashion.
A source said: "The weekend was exactly what Solange wanted, friends and family in her favourite town. It was all about the fashion, it was all about the look and the music, because that's important to her. Alan's a great man and has made her very happy."

Zayn Malik furious over drug speculation

Zayn Malik is "angry and upset" after being accused of having a drug problem.
The 21-year-old singer is "gutted" to have missed a promotional trip to America to plug One Direction's new album 'Four' after falling ill at the weekend and was horrified when his bandmates were quizzed on live TV about the unsubstantiated allegations.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I'm really angry and upset by what was said on The Today Show. I was really ill at the weekend, that's why I couldn't fly to America.
"As soon as I'm feeling better I'm going to join the guys and carry on with the promotion for the album.
"I was gutted to have to miss album release day. But I'm going to be back as soon as I can."
The 'Steal My Girl' hitmaker spoke out after 'Today Show' host Matt Lauer queried his absence, asking the rest of the group: "There have been rumours of substance abuse, what's going on?"
As watching fans booed, Niall Horan shook his head in anger while Liam Payne replied: "No, he's just got a stomach bug, he's OK. He's just at home. He just needs to rest. He's OK.
"We only found out this morning, so we're really sad, he is as well, that he can't be here for our album release."
Zayn - who was the subject of a leaked video earlier this year in which he appeared to be smoking a marijuana-laced cigarette - recently missed another group commitment, leaving Liam, Niall, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson to shoot acceptance speeches for the three MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) they won earlier this month without him.

Mary J. Blige: Music industry hates independent women

Mary J. Blige claims the music industry hates "strong and independent women".
The 'Family Affair" hitmaker slammed the treatment of female artists and claims she "fought hard" against attempts from industry bosses who tried to encourage her to sleep around to get to the top.
She said: "They hate strong and independent women.
"I never slept with anyone to get where I am, but they were after me to do that. I fought hard over that."
Despite breaking into the industry back in 1992, Mary insists the problem is worse than ever.
She said: "It's definitely got worse."
The 43-year-old singer - who released her debut album 'What's The 411?' aged 21 - confessed she didn't feel "comfortable" as an artist starting out and has finally learnt to be more "accepting" of herself.
Speaking to Stella magazine, she added: "This is the best time in my life. I'm becoming freer, i'm accepting the things I can't change and I'm not going to apologise for who I am. In my twenties, I wasn't comfortable in my own skin. I didn't like the way I looked, I didn't like me, and I always played myself short to make everybody else happy."

Rebecca Ferguson wants ‘millions’ of babies

Rebecca Ferguson wants to have "millions" of babies.
The 28-year-old singer has admitted she would love to expand her family, despite being ditched by her ex-boyfriend while she was pregnant with her third child, Arabella.
Rebecca - who also has Lillie, 10, and Karl, eight, from a former relationship - admitted looking after her three-week-old daughter has made her realise she wants to have a large family.
She said: "While I was pregnant I said I'd never have any more children, but after having her, I'd have a million now. I know that sounds bonkers.
"Getting your body back is the worry, but I love having kids; I'd love to have more.
"I'd love to get married and settle down and have more kids. I don't see a reason why not, it's just the case of finding the right man."
Rebecca - who came second on 'The X Factor' in 2010 - revealed the father of her two older children, Karl Dures, has offered to step in and even adopt her newborn, after the biological father walked out on her during her pregnancy.
Despite saying she thinks of her former love like a "brother", the brunette beauty hinted that their relationship could become romantic again in the future.
She told HELLO! magazine: "I wouldn't like to say. I'd never say never, but at the moment I just need time to heal. I think I'll probably like a good year of just being a single woman.
"I know it's a weird relationship for people to look at because we're not together, but [Karl] is like a brother to me."

Eddie Redmayne’s ‘horrific’ tweets

Eddie Redmayne insists he would be "horrific" if he joined Twitter.
The 'Les Miserables' star has no desire to join the social networking site because he knows he would spend far too long deliberating over what messages to send and whether his grammar and spelling were correct.
He said: "I guess you struggle enough to be present in the world at all.
"When I was younger, I tried to write a diary, and I felt so self-conscious, 'Who am I writing this for? I'm clearly not writing it for myself.'
"I think with tweeting, I'd be horrific. I'd always be looking down and asking, 'Is this the version that I want?' "
Instead, the 32-year-old star has turned to more traditional methods to inform the public of changes in his life, recently announcing his engagement to girlfriend Hannah Bagshawe in The Times newspaper.
When asked why he used this format to share the news, he told The Sunday Times Culture magazine: "[It's] a tradition, a lovely tradition."
Eddie popped the question to his fiancée while they were on holiday.
A source said at the time: "He had been planning it for a while. They have a very relaxed and supportive relationship ... they seemed to have always known they were going to spend the rest of their lives together."

Patrick Schwarzenegger ‘falling’ for Miley Cyrus

Patrick Schwarzenegger is "falling hard" for Miley Cyrus.
The 21-year-old model and actor and the 'We Can't Stop' hitmaker - who appeared to confirm their relationship when they were photographed kissing on Thursday night (13.11.14) - are reportedly in the relationship for the long haul.
A source revealed: "He is definitely falling hard for her and she really is liking all the attention he is giving her.
"This is something that is going to last."
When prompted about the possibility of their relationship developing further, the source added to HollywoodLife.com: "It could definitely lead that way and if Patrick gets what he wants it will, but they don't say 'I love you' to each other yet. Way too early!"
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old singer has reportedly begun to "impress" Patrick's mother.
The 'Stuck In Love' star - whose parents are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver - is believed to have encouraged his mother to "warm up" to the idea that him and Miley are an item.
A source previously revealed: "Maria is still not convinced that Patrick should be focusing all his attention on Miley and isn't thrilled that a romance is brewing.
"But she is warming up to the idea that her feelings may change because she was impressed with the way Miley handled herself during the AFI event.
"There is still a lot more convincing to be done but cracks in the armour have begun."

Liv Tyler’s heart longed for second kid

Liv Tyler's heart "longed" for a second child.
The 37-year-old actress - who is currently pregnant with her boyfriend, David Gardner's, baby and has a 9-year-old son, Milo, from her previous marriage to Royston Langdon - has admitted that she had wanted another kid for the last seven years.
She said: "For seven years, I'd been saying I wanted to do an HBO show with an ensemble cast. And I wanted the house in the country. And getting to have another child?
"If you knew me well, they were the things my heart longed for. And they all came together, like a speeding freight train, in one year."
Liv has been able to fulfil her other two desires by starring in 'The Leftovers' as well as renovating a home in Hudson, New York.
Meanwhile, 'The Incredible Hulk' star revealed she loves the "mom hormones" she gets when she's pregnant.
She told Town and Country magazine: "The most fun thing about being pregnant is having those mom hormones flowing around.
"You're more present in your body and it's making me a better mother for Milo. You become more like a child. When you're tired, you have to sleep immediately. When you're hungry ...
"It's fun not being on a diet or thinking, 'Oh my God, I have to go to SoulCycle every day."

Kendall Jenner not dating Justin Bieber

Kendall Jenner has denied that she is dating Justin Bieber.
The 19-year-old model has rubbished rumours that she is seeing the 'Baby' hitmaker.
When asked if the pair were an item, she said: "He's a longtime friend of our family.
"Everybody loves to assume things, but no."
Kendall also insisted that she would rather focus on her career than be in a relationship.
She was asked if she was dating anyone, to which she replied: "I'm not. I'm truly focusing on my career. If it comes it comes."
Meanwhile, the 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star also revealed that she had to "work pretty hard" to become a model and didn't want to use her family connections to break into the fashion industry.
She said: "I'm not trying to use a family name or anything.
"In reality I worked pretty hard for this... It wasn't like I just got it magically and it just happened."
Kendall also insisted that she didn't "ban" her sister, Kim Kardashian West, from coming to any of her fashion shows.
She added to ABC News's Nightline: "It was more of a mutual understanding.
"I think that if my sister was sitting front row and my sister is who she is, I know this sounds kind of weird but it would have almost taken the attention away from what I'm trying to do on my own."

Demi Lovato’s Latina culture made her feel beautiful

Demi Lovato's Latina culture taught her to love her body.
The 'Neon Lights' hitmaker - who openly admits that she previously struggled to accept her own body shape - credits her heritage for making her "understand" that she is beautiful.
She said: "I tried to conform to what everyone thinks is beautiful. But my genetics gave me a curvy figure, and I've come to understand that in the Latina culture, that is beautiful.
"I no longer look at my body and think, Oh my gosh, I have such a fat butt. Or, I hate my thighs. On some days I don't love them. But, you know, that's one of the things that makes me me."
Demi also admitted that she didn't "appreciate" her Mexican roots whilst growing up.
She explained to Glam Belleza Latina magazine: "Growing up in America, I never really appreciated my culture.
"I knew what being Hispanic was, but I thought that since I didn't look Hispanic, I was white."
Meanwhile, Demi - who, herself, has struggled with eating disorders in the past - recently slammed 'All About That Bass' singer Megan Trainor after she said that she wasn't "strong enough" to have an eating disorder.
In response to the comments, Demi tweeted: "Having an eating disorder doesn't show "strength." Strength is when are able to overcome your demons after being sick and tired for so long.
"There's a wide misconception that anorexia and/or bulimia is a choice and you often hear people say things like 'why doesn't she just start eating?' Or even 'just stop throwing up.'
"It's the ignorance and lack of education on mental illnesses that continues to put mental health care on the back burner to congress even though this is an epidemic that is sweeping our nation, and causing more and more tragedy every day. [sic]"
