Jada Pinkett Smith worried about changing her name

Jada Pinkett Smith was worried how her fans would react when she took Will Smith's last name.
The 'Madagascar' actress, who has daughter Willow, 13, and son Jaden, 16, with her husband of 17 years, feared she would be criticised for failing to be an "independent woman" by sticking to tradition and changing her name after they tied the knot in 1997.
In a new blog post on her Facebook page, she wrote: "The dilemma you face whether to change your last name to your husband's is a timely one. I have always believed that an empowered woman is one that can stand on her own two feet and has the strength to trust her personal code of womanhood and not necessarily the code that a collective creates as the standard to which an independent woman must adhere to, to actually be identified as...independent."
She eventually decided to add Smith to her original moniker, Jada Pinkett.
She added: "Each woman carries a different code so that she may never be replicated and is assured her individuality and freedom. As long as your decision reflects your personal code towards building the woman you want to be in this world...congrats...job well done."
The 42-year-old actress recently gushed about her marriage to Will and how it has "evolved."
She said: "Will, to me, encompasses everything. It's almost as if calling him 'my husband' is too small of a word for what he means in my life... I think I had a very stuck idea of what a husband looks like, what a wife should be. Once I broke all of that, a whole new world opened for me and man, oh, man, I got to see him in all his glory. And so that's what it's evolved into. And I'm just ecstatic about it."

Julia Roberts thought she was the prettiest

Julia Roberts used to think she was prettier than Halle Berry.
The 'August: Osage County' star admits she used to be very competitive with other actresses, but believes it was a "godsend" that she was never won accolades or titles for her appearance because it helped her to stay grounded.
The 46-year-old star told the September issue of InStyle magazine: "I think I've always sort of been on the more boyish spectrum of girls. For example, I've never been chosen as 'one of the top-five hottest actresses in a bikini.' And honestly, it's a godsend. When I was younger, I'd think, 'Oh, I'm the prettiest one. It's not Halle Berry. It's not!' But it is, you know?"
The Oscar-winning actress, who has nine-year-old twins, Hazel and Phinneaus, and seven-year-old son Henry with husband Danny Moder, insists that her life isn't glamorous away from the spotlight and she still struggles to juggle everything.
Explaining why she hates being asked, "How do you do it all?" she said: "Because, (a) I'm not nearly as busy as people think, (b) half of everything just doesn't get done -- as long as no one is in tears, nobody smells bad and everyone's sleeping peacefully, I've done my job -- and (c) I have a supportive group of girlfriends, a great husband and an understanding family. The rest gets done with grit, spit and a whole lot of duct tape."

Nina Dobrev is ‘paranoid’ about being arrested

Nina Dobrev was "paranoid" about getting arrested when she went out with a police officer.
The 'Let's Be Cops' star, who split from Ian Somerhalder in May 2013 after three years together, admitted she once freaked out when she discovered a former blind date's powerful occupation.
The 26-year-old actress told E! News: "I went on a date once with a police officer, unbeknownst to me. I thought he was a regular guy. And when I found out that he was a police officer...I wasn't so into it. I got paranoid that I would illegally cross the street and get a ticket for jay walking. I thought he was gonna arrest me every five seconds, so it obviously didn't go anywhere after that."
The 'Vampire Diaries' star still gets very nervous around members of law enforcement.
She said: "Even when I'm not doing something wrong, when there's a police officer [around], I suddenly feel guilty for nothing."
Nina was recently linked to a number of Hollywood heartthrobs, including Orlando Bloom, Ben McKenzie, David Anders and Derek Theler, and is annoyed many of her friends believe the rumours.
She said: "If all of my personal friends that know me so well are texting me and asking me and calling me, if they're believing it, then I couldn't imagine what everyone else in the world is believing."
She jokingly added: "I had a busy weekend at Comic-Con! I was linked to like 10, 15 guys apparently."

Mark Byron and Winston Showan evicted from ‘Big Brother’

Mark Byron and Winston Showan were both evicted from 'Big Brother' tonight (08.08.14).
The housemates were booted off the Channel 5 series in a surprise double eviction.
Eyebrow "expert" Mark, 24, was the 11th contestant to be eliminated and insisted he had an "amazing experience" inside despite receiving a negative reaction from the crowd.
He told the show's host Emma Willis: "I had such an amazing experience for the most part...there are people in there who would be better finalists...Nothing went wrong for me...it was just a brilliant summer."
When he was later informed there would be another eviction, he joked: "I'm a bit gutted... I was looking forward to a night by myself!"
Winston's elimination caused shockwaves around the house, but he left to loud cheers from the public.
In his post-eviction interview with Emma, the Personal business development manager, 27, admitted he was "a little bit shocked."
He added: "I am a bit gutted...I'd have loved to make the final. It's been the best time of my life."
The 'Big Brother' 2014 final will take place next Friday (15.08.14).

David Arquette isn’t inviting Courteney Cox to wedding

David Arquette doubts that he and ex-wife Courteney Cox will attend each other's upcoming nuptials.
The 42-year-old actor, who split from the former 'Friends' star in 2010 after almost 11 years of marriage and is now engaged to Christina McLarty, insists they are still "very close," but has no plans to invite the brunette beauty, who is engaged to Johnny McDaid, to his upcoming wedding.
Asked if they will attend each other's nuptials, the 'Scream' star told PEOPLE.com: "I doubt that. We're all very tight and very close and very supportive of everyone. You've got to give it a little [space]."
A source previously claimed that Courteney had already invited David to her wedding in Northern Ireland.
The former couple's 10-year-old daughter, Coco, will have a special job at his ceremony.
He said she can have "any role she wants," and jokingly added: "She'll be my maid of honour!"
Coco has formed a close bond with David's three-month-old son, Charlie, with Christina.
He said: "She's never jealous. She's just the best big sister ever. She can't stop kissing him enough!"
He added: "I'm good at diaper duty. It's my second time around, so I have some experience under my belt, but it's 10 years later, so that changes things."

Kendall Jenner smitten with Chandler Parsons

Kendall Jenner is smitten with Chandler Parsons.
The 18-year-old model, who was previously linked to Harry Styles and 5 Seconds of Summer singer Ashton Irwin, was reportedly set up on a date with the 25-year-old NBA star by her mother, Kris Jenner, and he has now backed out of an upcoming appearance on a reality TV dating series to be with her.
A source told the MailOnline: "Mama Kris met Chandler a few weeks ago and was blown away by not only his good looks, but his promising B-ball future.
"Chandler was just about to start filming a series similar to 'The Bachelor.' He was going to be introduced to a group of gorgeous women in hopes of being fixed up with the girl of his dreams.
"But before the cameras had a chance to roll, he's pulled out of the show."
However, not everyone is happy for the couple, including Kendall's father, Bruce Jenner, who split from Kris last October.
The source said: "On one hand Bruce knows how most professional athletes are major players and he doesn't want that for his daughter. On the other hand, he doesn't want to cause trouble since his daughter's already been through so much this year with her parents' separation.
"Besides, it would be like trying to close the barn door after the horse is already out."
Kendall was first spotted "flirting" with Chandler, who recently signed a three-year, $46 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks, at STK LA last month.

Kate Upton says she can’t do it all

Kate Upton doesn't think she "can do it all."
The 22-year-old model, who is dating baseball player Justin Verlander, is still very ambitious, but claims she struggles to find time in her busy schedule to do everything she wants to do.
The 'Other Woman' actress told Details magazine: "My career is moving at such a rapid pace. I want to hit all the top things. I want Italian Vogue with Steven Meisel, but I can't do all of the other things because I also want to shoot a movie. You think you can do it all. I'm travelling everywhere and I'm trying to do everything and I can't. But I feel like the fashion world has welcomed me and nobody is scared of me."
The Sports Illustrated beauty would also love to pose naked for a tasteful photoshoot, but thinks she would attract a lot of criticism for it.
She said: "Your body is art, your body is beautiful, and to be photographed in that way is amazing and it's received in a very positive way.
"But with social media and the internet and not-so-great blogs and the attention like that, I don't think that my pictures would be received in the way that I'd want them to be received."
She added: "That's why I've stayed away from them. I really appreciate those photos and I think those women are beautiful, but I think social media and the Internet has prevented me from putting myself out there like that."

Christina Ricci gives birth to son

Christina Ricci has given birth to a baby boy.
The 34-year-old actress, who confirmed in May she was expecting her first child with husband James Heerdegen, recently welcomed their son into the world, according to UsMagazine.com.
A spokesperson for the 'Casper' star only confirmed she was pregnant after the brunette beauty sent rumours into overdrive when she was spotted strolling through Los Angeles International Airport with a noticeable baby bump three months ago.
A friend close to the couple previously revealed they couldn't wait to be parents, adding: "They are thrilled and ready for a change of pace."
The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Harold Pratt House And Peterson Hall in New York City last October.
Christina, who was previously linked to Chris Evans and Adam Goldberg, met camera technician James on the set of her short-lived TV drama 'Pan Am' in 2011.
The couple's engagement was first speculated in October 2012 when Christina was seen sporting a diamond ring on her left ring finger and the actress finally confirmed the news several months later.
Christina previously revealed that she enjoyed being able to call James her 'fiancé'.
When asked what she enjoyed most about being engaged, she said: "Getting to say 'fiancé' instead of 'boyfriend'. People take you so much more seriously once you start throwing around that word."

Adam Levine ‘upset’ about car trouble

Adam Levine was reportedly "upset" when his car ran out of gas on Wednesday night (06.08.14).
The Maroon 5 frontman, who married Behati Prinsloo in Mexico last month, was driving on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles with his new wife when his classic '50s Mercedes SL rolled to a stop near The Comedy Store.
An eyewitness told gossip website TMZ.com that the Namibian model waited helplessly while a frantic Adam called a friend to ask him to stop at a nearby gas station and come to their rescue.
The source said he seemed very upset when people started recognising him and he left the scene as soon as his friend arrived with more gas.
Behati, 25, recently revealed she can't wait to start a family with the 'Misery' hitmaker.
She said that they have a "definite" plan to have children, but apart from that she has no expectations.
She explained: "I have no expectations. Not in a bad way, but I've learned that you can't plan ahead. I live day by day and see what happens. It's vague, but I like it that way."
The 'One More Night' hitmaker also previously admitted he was eager to become a dad.
During an interview in 2011, he said: "I don't think you necessarily have to be married to have children."

Rob Kardashian ends alleged feud with Kim Kardashian

Rob Kardashian appears to have ended his alleged feud with Kim Kardashian.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' stars reportedly stopped speaking after the 27-year-old sock designer skipped his sister's wedding to Kanye West in Florence, Italy in May, amid rumours they had an argument about his recent weight gain shortly beforehand.
But Rob hinted they have now mended their relationship by reaching out to the brunette beauty, 33, on Twitter on Thursday (07.08.14) to gush about Kim's 13-month-old daughter, North.
Along with two adorable pictures of the tot in the airport, he tweeted: "Goodness @KimKardashian she's soooooo pretty!!!! LOVE HERR (sic)"
Kim responded: "@robkardashian she loves her uncle Robby (sic)!"
The friendly exchange comes just weeks after Kim lashed out at Rob's ex-girlfriend Adrienne Bailon after she claimed in an interview that dating him from 2007 to 2009 had hurt her career.
A furious Kim tweeted: "Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career yet the only reason she has this article is bc she is talking about a Kardashian
"So sad when people try to kick my brother when he is down #FamilyForever (sic)"
Kim recently admitted on her family's reality series that she was tired of Rob complaining about his weight and wanted to teach him "tough love."
She said: "I think I'm just more of the tough love kind of person. My personality is like, 'All right, you complain, you don't like it, get up and do something about it.' "
