Mel B is to appear in 'Coronation Street'.
The 39-year-old star will feature in a one-off episode of the ITV soap in a bid to raise money for ITV's Text Santa charity campaign.
A show insider revealed: "It is a cameo but she will be playing a character who isn't connected to her personally.
"It will be Mel - but not as we have seen her before. It is fair to say there will be a lot of walking along the cobbles."
The acting stint won't be the first time the outspoken 'X Factor' judge has appeared on the popular northern soap, after playing a shop worker named Amy Nelson in 1993 before she found global fame with the Spice Girls.
A friend of the star explained to The Sun newspaper: "Mel has always loved Corrie. It was one of her first tastes of showbiz and jumped at the chance of appearing in it again."
The mother-of-three will film her scenes - which are to feature during the fundraiser on December 19 - this week.
In last year's Text Santa episode, Mel's fellow 'X Factor' judge and pal Cheryl Fernandez-Versini featured alongside 27-year-old actress Michelle Keegan, who played Tina McIntyre until she was killed off earlier this year.
Mel's performance on the soap comes after she teased her involvement in an upcoming Disney film, which she teased on her Instagram feed on Monday (17.11.14), posting a photo of her recording for an unknown animated movie.
She teased in the caption: "At work at @disneyuk today here is a sneak peek at what I'm doing today!! (sic)."

Steve Backshall reportedly "can't wait" for his stint on 'Strictly Come Dancing' to come to an end.
The 41-year-old TV presenter is said to be tired of trying to impress his professional dance partner Ola Jordan and is desperate to return to his job hosting wildlife show 'Deadly 60'.
A source revealed: "Steve has been telling people he can't wait to get back to the day job, he really isn't enjoying himself and has been really troubled by the show process.
"He has spent years tackling wild animals but Ola is one tough cookie he cannot crack."
Steve - who has remained at the middle of the Strictly leaderboard throughout the competition - was reported to have fallen out with Ola last month and is now said to be putting on a brave face for the cameras.
The source continued to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "In front of the camera and when they are out they act like friends but behind closed doors they still aren't getting on.
"He can't wait to get back to his adventures and do his own thing."
Ola won the BBC One celebrity dance contest with presenter Chris Hollins in 2009 and was said to be keen to win this year amid rumours she and husband James Jordan are planning to start a family in the near future.
However, The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, Pixie Lott and 'EastEnders' actor Jake Wood are among the stars who are favourites to win the current series.

Nick Jonas has confirmed he is no longer a virgin.

Sir Mick Jagger will cook Christmas dinner for his ex Jerry Hall after having a "rough time" following the death of his girlfriend L'Wren Scott.

Djimon Hounsou is in talks to star in 'King Arthur'.
The 50-year-old actor has reportedly been approached by director Guy Ritchie about taking on the role of Bedivere in his upcoming epic medieval movie.
In Arthurian legend Bedivere is described as a noble member of the monarch's knights, while in Ritchie's interpretation he will be an older and wiser warrior who is given the responsibility to train the young Arthur for battle by his father.
Charlie Hunnam has been cast as Arthur and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey will play Guinevere. Jude Law will be the movie's main villain, reuniting his working relationship with Ritchie from the 'Sherlock Holmes' films.
The script has been written by Joby Harold - whose previous work includes acting as a producer on 'Edge Of Tomorrow' - and he is also producing alongside the director, Lionel Wigram, Akiva Goldsman and Tory Tunnell.
Warner Bros. want the film to be the first of a six-part franchise which will show Arthur's journey to his destiny.
Plot details for the picture are being kept under wraps, but it will open in cinemas on July 22, 2016.

Jimmy Ruffin has died.
The Motown singer - who was best known for his 1966 hit 'What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?' - passed away at the age of 78 at his home in Las Vegas on Monday (17.11.14), his children Philicia and Jimmy Lee Ruffin have confirmed.
Motown Records founder Berry Gordy paid tribute to the 'Gonna Give Her All the Love I Got' hitmaker - whose brother David was an original member of the Temptations - and hailed him a "phenomenal singer" and a "wonderful human being".
He said in a statement: "Jimmy Ruffin was a phenomenal singer.
"He was truly underrated because we were also fortunate to have his brother, David, as the lead singer of the Temptations, who got so much acclaim. Jimmy, as a solo artist, had 'What Becomes of the Brokenhearted,' one of the greatest songs put out by Motown and also one of my personal favourites.
"He was a wonderful human being, quiet and unassuming, who touched many lives with his music, not just here in the states, but overseas, as well. Jimmy Ruffin will always be a part of the Motown legacy, and I extend my sincere condolences to his family, friends and fans."
Philicia and Jimmy Lee also paid tribute to their dad as a "rare type of man"
who had "left his mark".
They said in a statement: "Jimmy Ruffin was a rare type of man who left his mark on the music industry.
"My family in its entirety is extremely upset over his death. He will truly be missed. We will treasure the many fond and wonderful memories we all have of him."
Jimmy enjoyed a lengthy career, signing a record deal in the early 1960s and enjoying chart success for several decades afterwards, with his track 'Hold On To My Love' a big hit in 1980 and his last album, 'There Will Never Be Another You', released in 2012.

Courtney Love and Dave Grohl buried the hatchet after bonding over "an actress' boobs".
The Hole frontwoman had been embroiled in a feud with her late husband Kurt Cobain's former Nirvana bandmate since the rocker's death in 1994 and though they appeared on good terms when the group were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April, Courtney admits it took a recent conversation to really become friends again.
She explained: "A lot of people saw the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where we hugged it out and it was all good, but the other night we - we used to really like each other and then there was 20 years when we sued each other and then we stopped - and then the other night we just started talking about this one actress' boobs.

Richard Gere's ex-wife wants over $100 million in her divorce settlement.

"My husband's name is Marco, and there have been a couple of times I've called him Michael.
"I have like Dori brain from 'Nemo' -- I reset like every three seconds."
The 36-year-old actress also admitted to experiencing bizarre cravings, including cookies with salami.
Speaking on 'Untold With Maria Menounos', she said: You find yourself driving around bakeries, over and over, drive-thrus. Like, what am I doing?"
When Maria admitted she hoped to eat healthily if she gets pregnant, Zoe replied: "Your [Greek] heritage is known for its food.

Miley Cyrus is throwing a £6,000 Christmas party for homeless people.
The 21-year-old star - who is known for her controversial on-stage antics, including scantily-clad twerking - is determined to show her "caring and sensitive" side by employing a chef to cook a three-course dinner for her guests and enlisting waiters and waitresses to wine and dine them.
A source said: "Most people only see the Miley who puts on a show. But she's really caring and sensitive and wants to make a difference to the lives of homeless people.
"She's putting a lot of effort into this party, there'll be waitresses to serve them.
"The whole thing will cost her around £6,000 but she feels that it's the least she can do."
The 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker - who is dating Patrick Schwarzenegger, 21 - is also set to put on some entertaining games for her guests and she is said to be planning to perform at the festive bash.
A source added to the Daily Star newspaper: "There will be fun and games after the food too, and Miley is bound to put on a little show for them to get the party started."
The singer is no stranger to helping out the homeless as in August she invited her pal Jesse Helt, who she became friends with after meeting at a homeless shelter in Los Angeles, to the MTV Video Music Awards in California and he even allowed him to accept her Video of the Year award on stage.
However, shortly afterwards it emerged there was an outstanding warrant for the 22-year-old aspiring model's arrest dating back to November 2011 and he turned himself over to police following the star-studded ceremony.
Jesse was jailed for six months in October for violating the terms of his probation following a court hearing in Oregon.
Following his August arrest, Miley insisted she standing by him.
She wrote on Twitter: "People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included.
"I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it."
