Sophie Wessex meets Downton Abbey cast

Britain's Sophie, Countess of Wessex met the cast of 'Downton Abbey' at a charity event on Tuesday (25.11.14).
The 49-year-old royal - who has children Lady Louise, seven, and James, Viscount Severn, six, with husband Prince Edward - attended the 'Downton Abbey Festive Readings' seasonal celebration at St. George's Church in London, which was held in aid of Tomorrow's People, a charity of which she is patron.
Sophie helped Jim Carter - who plays strict butler Carson on the hit period drama - call out the winners of a raffle, and also met his co-stars Laura Carmichael, Allen Leech and Penelope Wilton, as well as the show's writer Julian Fellowes.
The cast members each offered a seasonal reading at the 18th century church before fans in the audience - who had paid £45 a ticket - got the chance to ask them about life in the show.
After the celebrities had left the stage, a Salvation Army band performed and guests tucked into wine and mince pies.
All proceeds from the evening went to Tomorrow's People, a national organisation that helps excluded and disadvantaged people avoid long-term homelessness and find work.

Unseen Prince George photo made public

A previously-unseen photograph of Britain's Prince George has been made public via Twitter.
The portrait of the future king with his parents Duchess Catherine and Prince William, taken when he was around eight months old, was presented as an official gift after the family's visit to New Zealand and Australia in April this year but had never been seen globally until yesterday (26.11.14).
It is unclear who the intended recipient was but a Kensington Palace spokesperson said it was one of several presented to "people involved in the tour or people they met".
The leaked photograph was signed by the royal couple and was enclosed in a frame.
It is believed the image was taken in March when photographer Jason Bell took a series of official pictures which were subsequently released.
The spokesperson said: "I can confirm it is a photo the Duke and Duchess used as official gifts on their tour to New Zealand and Australia. It was taken by Jason Bell before the tour."
George has not been officially photographed since his first birthday in June.
The family are following royal tradition in giving the pictures as gifts.
William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth presents photographs of herself and her husband Prince Philip when on overseas tours, as do his father Prince Charles and step-mother Duchess Camilla.

Paul Walker’s legacy lives on in charity

Paul Walker's legacy "lives on" through his charity.
The 'Fast and Furious' star - who died in a car crash last November - established Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW) to provide relief in areas affected by natural disasters and his younger brother Cody Walker thinks the late actor would be "stoked" to know the organisation is still going strong.
Cody said: "ROWW continues to be, to function, to help others even after our primary contributor, my brother.
"I know he would be so stoked to know that. ROWW changed his life, and he was so proud of it.
"This year has been very challenging but also extremely rewarding. ROWW would like to thank all of our supporters who have gotten us through this very difficult year. Thanks to you, Paul's legacy lives on through ROWW."
Since Paul's passing, the charity has completed a holiday toy drive, stuffed backpacks ready for children returning to school in September, deployed a team to Mayflower, Arkansas, to assist after a tornado and sent people on a medical mission to the Philippines to provide aid after Typhoon Haiyan.
Cody told E! News: "These missions are truly life changing for all involved. I'm so proud to be a part of this."
And when asked what Cody wants people to learn from the 'Furious 7' star's life, he said not to be too cool and to "live life to the fullest".
He said: "Just live your life to the fullest. Laugh a lot, love and find your true happiness. Remember that no matter how cool you think you may be, you're not cool enough to look down on anyone...ever.
"I am so lucky to have had him as a big brother."

Ryan Reynolds family got closer through dad’s illness

Ryan Reynolds' family grew closer when his father was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
The 'Green Lantern' star's dad Jim, a former cop and boxer, was found to be suffering from the degenerative disease - which causes tremors, rigidity, and balance problems - in 1995 but has never directly admitted having the condition, meaning his loved ones were forced to rally round to try and help however they could.
He said: "I have a slightly different, weird, strange story about that because my father really hasn't ever said he has Parkinson's disease.
"He comes from a pretty prideful generation, and he doesn't really talk about it too much. But, he's maybe said it once or twice out loud
"It kind of galvanized everybody else, to sort of seek resources. And for us, it's in a strange way, it's really kind of brought us together."
Ryan - who is expecting his first child with wife Blake Lively - has been involved with Michael J. Fox's foundation in 2008 and is now on the board of directors and took part in a joint interview with the founder ahead of the Fox foundation's annual gala in New York.
Michael - who was diagnosed with the condition in 1991 but didn't announce it publicly for seven years and says since being open about his illness, he has been afforded a "tremendous opportunity".
Speaking on the 'Today' show, the 'Back to the Future' actor said: "There's shame in illness.
"Once I made my diagnosis known, it's been a tremendous opportunity and a tremendous privilege."

Khloe Kardashian braids hair to avoid Thanksgiving distractions

Khloe Kardashian has braided her hair so she doesn't have to worry about it while cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
The 30-year-old star is putting her culinary skills to the test today (27.11.14) by making lunch for her family for the annual celebration, and the brunette is so determined to get the meal right she got her hair done yesterday (26.11.14) to ensure she would have one less distraction ahead of the big day.
In a message attached to a selfie posted on Khloe's Instagram account, she wrote: "Thank you @hairlovebydominique for braiding me up last night. One less thing to worry about while I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the fam braids on fleek (sic)"
While Khloe is hard at work in the kitchen, her pregnant sister Kourtney, who is expecting her and partner Scott Disick's third child, is having a relaxing day watching comic 'Charlie Brown'.
The brunette beauty - who has kids, Mason, four, and two-year-old Penelope - posted a picture of the show airing on her TV and added the caption: "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving!"
Khloe's mother Kris Jenner recently admitted the 'Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons' star is the only one of her children she can rely on in the kitchen on Thanksgiving day.
She said: "My kids say they'll participate but Khloé is the only one who I can really count on for help in the kitchen."
The 59-year-old matriarch also admitted she was looking forward to cooking up a Thanksgiving feast and revealed she always sets her table four days in advance.
She explained: "I can't wait to make my lemon chiffon and pies in these dishes.
"I set my table four days in advance. It takes me that long to get it just right, layering the different decorations, adding and taking away things until I can stand back and say, 'Yes, that's it.'
"I usually make three turkeys each year - two for the family and one for practice.
"I keep a Thanksgiving notebook of things I've made in the past and new recipes. I rotate dishes from year to year, but there are family favourites that always make the table."

Taylor Swift: Humiliation has got me hits

Taylor Swift thinks her music would be "more beige" if she hadn't suffered "humiliation, embarrassment or devastation" in her life.
The 24-year-old singer is known for writing songs about her famous exes - who include Harry Styles, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Joe Jonas - and believes she wouldn't have won as many awards or sold out as many gigs if she didn't write about her person heartbreak.
She said: "The songs I've written about my moments of humiliation, embarrassment or devastation have gotten me the greatest sense of clarity.
"If my life had been turbulence free, no bumps in the road at all, maybe my music would be more beige, maybe the stadiums wouldn't be so full and the mantle would be a little more empty."
The 'Blank Space' hitmaker - who has won an incredible seven Grammys, 15 American Music Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards and seven Academy of Country Music Awards - also admitted she doesn't ever trust anyone who claims they haven't regretted anything in life.
She added to ASOS magazine: "I can't stand having regrets, but you're supposed to have them. Anybody who tells you they went through life without regret or error isn't telling you the truth and they shouldn't be trusted."

Calum Best offered £50,000 for Celebrity Big Brother

Calum Best has reportedly been offered £50,000 to appear on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The lothario is said to be in talks with Channel 5 bosses who hope he will help to sex up the reality show house and spill the beans on his flings with famous faces during the upcoming series, The Sun newspaper reports.
The 33-year-old model's conquests include troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, Bianca Gascoigne, Rebecca Loos - who previously claimed she had an affair with David Beckham - and former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding.
Calum is no stranger to reality TV, having appeared on 'Celebrity Love Island' - where he romanced Bianca - and 'Come Dine with Me'.
He also had his own show titled 'Calum, Fran and Dangerous Danan', which saw him and his two best pals embark on a road trip in the United States, and another called 'Totally Calum Best', in which he attempted to stay celibate for 50 days.
Meanwhile, it's been reported that while stars from reality shows such as 'Geordie Shore' and 'The Only Way Is Essex' - including Ricci Guarnaccio, Charlotte Crosby and Lauren Goodger - have proved popular on 'Celebrity Big Brother' in the past, bosses are now banning them for being too camera aware.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Bosses really want to shake up CBB. They want more people not used to being filmed."
Other names rumoured to be taking part in the upcoming series include former 'The Apprentice' candidate and 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' contestant Katie Hopkins and actress Patsy Kensit.

Gemma Collins returns to The Only Way Is Essex

Gemma Collins will return to 'The Only Way Is Essex' for the Christmas special.
The 33-year-old reality star is set to appear in the festive episode on ITVBe next month following her dramatic exit from 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' after spending just 72 hours in the Australian jungle.
A source close to the 'TOWIE' star said: "Gemma's first thoughts after the jungle were to contact the producers and secure her spot in the end-of-the-year special.
"She's an Essex girl at heart, so that's where she feels at her most confident and best."
Before heading into the 'I'm a Celeb' camp earlier this month, Gemma had reportedly told friends she wouldn't return to the popular reality show until February, but according to the insider, the feisty blonde wanted to be "surrounded by her mates" as she copes with the aftermath of her messy break-up from Alex Moss, who she split from just days before entering the jungle.
Taking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the source said: "She did think about taking some time off because she has been having such a difficult spell recently.
"But then she realised that she feels at her absolute best when she is surrounded by her Essex mates, in places she
knows and loves. That's where she can be the fabulous GC."
Gemma is reported to have called the police after Alex allegedly assaulted her just hours before she was set to fly to Australia.

Carl Fogarty and Jimmy Bullard rescued from storm

Carl Fogarty and Jimmy Bullard had to be rescued from a storm in the 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' jungle.
The motorbike champion and former Premier League footballer were taken to a remote part of the Australian jungle to take part in a bush tucker trial but found themselves cut off from the rest of the camp when a storm struck.
Glamour model Nadia Forde and rapper Tinchy Stryder had been tasked with completing challenges in order to rescue Jimmy and Carl, 49, from the "Shed of Dread" but had to turn back when helicopter pilots deemed it too dangerous to fly.
A source revealed: "We didn't want to cause alarm, but there were real fears for them stuck out there alone. It could have gone horribly wrong."
The pair were eventually rescued by specially trained wardens and returned to camp but Jimmy - who has struggled to cope with jungle creatures since arriving - is said to have considered quitting the ITV reality series after the traumatic incident.
The source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Jimmy was talking about leaving the camp. He said he felt unsafe."
And while the 36-year-old star - who is favourite to win the show - ultimately agreed to stay, bosses are said to be convinced the current series is cursed.
The insider added: "First Gemma Collins quits, then Craig Charles has to leave and now there's this latest drama.
"What next? We've got 11 days left and now we're worried if we'll make it."

Nadia Forde’s ill mother ‘rooting for her’ in the jungle

Nadia Forde's cancer-stricken mother is "rooting for her" to win 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'
Berenice Paolozzi has been showing her support for her daughter - who previously dated golfing champion Rory McIlroy - while she competes on this year's series of the ITV reality show, despite having had little contact with the 25-year-old star in the last 18 years.
Nadia's friend Debbie O'Leary has revealed the brunette beauty was sent to live with her grandma aged seven after her parents split up, but recently flew to London to make amends with her mother after discovering she was suffering from Lymphoma cancer.
Debbie told The Sun newspaper: "I know her mum is rooting for her but she's still very sick."
Nadia's pal - who describes herself and the glamour model as "inseparable" - has also been watching her grow close to former 'X Factor' contestant Jake Quickenden, but insists the singer is going to have to try harder if he wants to win her over.
She said: "I don't know if there is going to be a love story to come out of it.
"Nadia is a hard girl to woo so Jake would have to work hard if he is serious.
"It is hard to tell in the jungle, you are in a confined space, a small number of people. She just doesn't let any man sweep her off her feet so it is interesting to watch.
"I think she definitely would like to get to know someone very well before starting to do anything."

Julie Walters discovered acting through mime

Julie Walters discovered her acting talent during a mime lesson.
The 64-year-old actress first realized how much she enjoyed performing after a nun forced her to mime in front of the class in primary school.
Recalling her first moment in the spotlight, the 'Paddington' actress shared: "There was this one nun [and] she used to have this miming thing you did every Friday afternoon - you had to get up in front of the class and do a mime. And the children had to guess what it was.
"Anyway, the first time that I did it, I did this gossiping woman. This nun - she was awful - but she roared with laughter! The world changed in that moment. The power of that. She said: 'You should go on the stage.' I will never forget how suddenly beautiful the classroom looked."
Julie - who plays the housekeeper Mrs Bird in 'Paddington' - has since had to adapt her acting methods to accommodate the developments in technology, including a CGI Paddington bear.
Recalling the years she spent working on 'Harry Potter' with then-child stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, Julie told the Metro newspaper: "They'd shoot them, then they'd shoot us talking to them when they couldn't be there. So I was kind of used to that, things appearing afterwards."
