Lindsay Lohan records with Duran Duran

Lindsay Lohan sings on Duran Duran for the band's new album.
The 28-year-old star and her model sister Ali, 20, joined band members Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes in the studio on Sunday evening (07.12.14) to put down some vocals on a track for the band's upcoming LP.
Alongside an image taken with the rockers which she posted on Instagram, she wrote: "Recording with some greats!!! (sic)"
The flame-haired socialite joined the 'Girls On Film' hitmakers at a studio in Battersea, south London for the recording, and is believed to have spent almost seven hours ensuring her contribution was perfect.
A source explained: "Lindsay was in the studio with the boys from 6.30pm right through until 1am. They wanted to make sure they got the vocals on point."
However, fans of Lohan's previous albums - 'Speak' and 'A Little More Personal (Raw)' - may be disappointed as her singing voice is not believed to be showcased on the song, although her 20-year-old sister - who also released an album in 2006 - does belt out some notes.
The source added: "Lindsay's contribution is more of a spoken word part, while Ali is singing on the track - the sisters will feature on the same song, which they thought was really cool."
After celebrating her debut album's 10th anniversary on Instagram over the weekend, the 'Mean Girls' actress is believed to be seriously considering a return to music.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the insider added: "She has been thinking of giving music another shot recently after recording with Kate Moss' husband Jamie Hince from The Kills, last year. People forget that she has had two studio albums - as well as some film soundtrack contributions. She loves music."
Duran Duran have been working on their new album with Nile Rodgers and Mark Ronson, who is the brother of Lindsay's ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

Ed Sheeran tops iTunes end of year chart

Ed Sheeran has topped the end of year iTunes chart.
The 23-year-old singer's second album 'x' was released in June and was the most downloaded record from the retailer in the UK in 2014.
Speaking of the announcement, he said: "Absolutely buzzing to hear I've got the best selling album on iTunes this year."
The news comes days after the record was named as the most-streamed album in the world for 2014 on Spotify, with more than 430 million plays since it was released.
Elsewhere in the rundown of the UK's favourite albums, Sam Smith's debut 'In the Lonely Hour' came second, with the soundtrack to hit Disney movie 'Frozen' being the third best seller.
iTunes also revealed the best-selling singles from the past year, with Pharrell Williams topping the list with his worldwide hit 'Happy', and the Grammy-nominated 'Rather Be' by Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne coming in at second place, which was also iTunes UK's pick for best song.
Speaking about the news, the trio said: "Amazing to find out that 'Rather Be' has been chosen as Song of the Year by iTunes. Thank you so much to everyone who bought it and supported us. 2014 has been an incredible year. Happy Christmas to one and all."
Tracks from Meghan Trainor, Ella Henderson, and John Legend were among other songs in the top 10 best selling singles list.
Aside from music, 'Threes!' was named iPhone Game of the Year, while the iPad Game of the Year titled went to 'Monument Valley'. 'Minecraft: Pocket Edition' is the number one selling paid iPhone and iPad App of 2014.

James Gunn has finished Guardians of the Galaxy sequel

James Gunn has finished writing the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' sequel.
The 44-year-old director has revealed he's already created a follow-up story to the hit 2014 sci-fi adventure film and admits he's "very excited about it".
He said: "Well, I'm really inspired. The whole story is written. I'm very excited about it. And that's where it is. But the story point for me is, in a lot of ways, the most difficult thing.
"I feel like it's pretty strong. It's constantly shifting, but I feel it's pretty strong. I'm excited about it."
The 'Dawn of the Dead' writer claims the sequel will be very different to the original film, as he thinks that's necessary if the characters - including Chris Pratt's Peter Quill and Zoe Saldana's Gamora - are to develop.
Gunn explained to Comic Book Resources: "Really, it's just about going forward in an elegant manner. When you go forward with a group of characters, that means you have to go forward.
"And going forward means you're understanding these characters in a new way, you're developing a new kind of story about their lives and who they are and where they're going.
"And if you're doing that, if you're walking forward, then you can't just repeat what you did before. That's going backwards. That's not understanding the character."
'Guardians of the Galaxy' expanded the Marvel Comics cinematic universe into the cosmos, where adventurer Peter Quill found himself the object of a bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb, wanted by a powerful villain named Ronan.

Duchess of Cambridge confused with Frozen princess

Children mistook Britain's Duchess of Cambridge for the princess from 'Frozen'.
The 32-year-old royal was greeted by a very enthusiastic audience at the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem, New York yesterday (08.12.14) after a group of kids believed they would be meeting one of the main stars from the popular Disney film.
After introducing Catherine to the children, Rose Ann Harris, a school director joked: "They thought [the duchess] was the princess from 'Frozen'."
Although one little boy was left a little dissatisfied as he told the New York Daily Post newspaper: "She didn't have a crown."
While six-year-old Mila was the lucky recipient of a hug, after she presented Her Royal Highness with a bouquet of red roses.
She gushed: "I gave her flowers. It was amazing."
Catherine was given a tour around the facilities by New York's First Lady Chirlane McCray.
There the royal - who is currently pregnant with her second child and is already mother to 16-month-old Prince George - wrapped presents for a Santa exchange.
Nina Fenton, the development director at Northside, added: "[The duchess] did take time to painstakingly make sure it was beautifully wrapped."

Adam Levine sought proposal permission

Adam Levine asked Behati Prinsloo's father for permission to propose to her.
The Maroon 5 frontman asked the Victoria's Secret beauty to marry him in July 2013, and though the 25-year-old model admits his proposal was "very simple", it was exactly what she wanted.
Asked the most romantic thing Adam had ever done, she said: "I think proposing.
"It was very simple, there was nothing crazy. It was the way that I wanted it. He called my dad. It was very nice."
Behati also revealed she and the 35-year-old singer - who she married this July - spent months getting to know one another via email before meeting in person, but their first face-to-face encounter was still "awkward".
Speaking to 'Access Hollywood', she recalled: "We kind of started talking over email, back and forth for months. I was kind of making fun of him...We talked over email for such a long time and then went to LA and we met for the first time.
"When we met finally, face to face, he was shooting the boxing music video, 'One More Night,' I think it was, so he had gloves on.
"And I walked through the door and was like, 'What am I doing here?' And he had his gloves on and was like, ' This is awkward, hi!'"

Avril Lavigne has health woes

Avril Lavigne is reportedly experiencing "health issues".
The 'Complicated' singer - who is married to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger - hasn't been seen in public since September and has apparently told a Twitter fan that she is unwell with an undisclosed problem.
In a direct message to AvrilMusicChart, she wrote on Sunday (07.12.14): "I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I've been absent.
"I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers. (sic)"
Though Avril hasn't commented on her problems or confirmed the legitimacy of the messages, she publicly responded to the Twitter account after they sent well wishes, writing simply: "thank you."
The 'Girlfriend' hitmaker's health woes come a few months after speculation her marriage to Chad - who she married in July 2013 - was in trouble.
However, the 'This Is How You Remind Me' rocker later laughed off the reports, which were fuelled when he missed Avril's 30th birthday party, but admitted even his family had worried about the status of their relationship.
The 39-year-old rocker said: "You know my dad calls me up and he's just like, 'I haven't slept in two days, what's going on?' I'm like, 'Dad you're not buying all this c**p are you?' You know, I get to hear all the rumour mill stuff. So it's, it's...I find it very amusing."

Robbie Williams quitting music to become mechanic

Robbie Williams is quitting music to become a mechanic.
The 40-year-old singer - who has daughter Theodora, two, and son Charlton, six weeks, with his wife Ayda Field - has claimed he will give up his pop career in favour of a "proper job" because he has grown tired of making music after almost 25 years.
He said: "To be quite honest with you I'm getting a little bit bored of the pop star / rock star thing. I've been very, very lucky, I've had an amazing career, but I want to do something different."
The 'Rock DJ' hitmaker released his eleventh studio album 'Under the Radar Volume 1' last week - at the same time as his former band Take That debuted at number one in the UK album chart with 'III' - but the record was ineligible to chart because it was released through his website.
Despite selling an estimated 140,000 copies of his record, the star suggested he would like to leave his career behind and move to Germany for his new job because he doesn't think being a musician is appropriate for a father.
Speaking in a YouTube video on his official channel, he explained: "I love you Germany; always have and I always will. I want to do something different that involves living with you and in you. For the first time in my life I want a job job, a proper job. I'm a daddy now and I feel as though it's only right that I have one."
The 'Candy' crooner revealed he also considered becoming a professional soccer player when thinking of a new profession, but decided working with cars would be the best role for him so urged German mechanics to get in touch.
He added: "And I've been thinking about my options about what my job job could be and I thought soccer in Germany maybe, and then no I'm too old ...and then I thought to myself, Germany's got amazing cars. Give me a call."

Johnny Depp buys nude portrait of Duchess of Cambridge

Johnny Depp has purchased a nude portrait of Britain's Duchess of Cambridge.
The 51-year-old actor forked out a five figure sum for the work by street artist Pegasus and commissioned him to create another of 32-year-old Catherine- who is currently pregnant with her second child with Prince William - in the buff with her baby bump on display.
The second portrait, entitled 'crowned' will feature the brunette beauty -who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage - with nothing but a crown placed on her growing tummy.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star also spent £25,000 on a portrait of Queen Elizabeth as he visited the opening of the artist's gallery in Islington, north London on Sunday (07.12.14)
The Hollywood legend - who is engaged to Amber Heard and has children Lily-Rose, 15, and Jack, 12, with former partner Vanessa Paradis - is said to be a huge fan of Pegasus and "immediately" snapped up the works.
Leonard Villa, the artist's manager, told the Metro newspaper: "I knew Johnny was coming and wanted the two Kate Middleton works.
"I didn't even tell my wife and daughters, but I was expecting him. He was extremely charming and immediately bought the painting and put down an offer for the second one.
"Everything at the opening of Pegasus' gallery sold within 15 minutes.
"He can't fulfil his orders fast enough at the moment."
Meanwhile, Catherine - who has 16-month-old son Prince George with the second-in-line to the throne - is due to give birth in April next year.

Caroline Flack splits from boyfriend

Caroline Flack has split from her long-term boyfriend.
The former 'Xtra Factor' host has reportedly broken up with Jack Street, who she had dated for 18 months, because they were both too busy with their various projects.
Caroline has been preoccupied with competing on the BBC One show 'Strictly Come Dancing', even making the semi-finals on Sunday (07.12.14) with her dance partner Pasha Kovalev, while her music manager ex was busy looking after his acts, which includes Sam Smith and Disclosure.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "She is absolutely devastated about her and Jack splitting up.
"It came to a natural end and was a mutual decision that they both agreed was for the best. No one else is involved on either side.
"Jack has been away so much because he's very successful and Caroline is so busy with work."
"But she's still very close to Jack - there isn't some nasty fallout or dark secret."
The 35-year-old star has previously praised the show for making her relationship with Jack, 26, stronger, laughing off rumours of the 'Strictly curse' which has seen former contestants break-up with their partners.
Last month Caroline told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "If anything, doing the show has made our relationship better than ever because I'm happier. It's made me a happier person.
"It's something so different to what I'm used to that he says it's brought out a nicer side of me - not that I was bad before.
"But whatever 'Strictly' does to other couples, for whatever reason, it's done the opposite to us."

George Lucas hasn’t seen new Star Wars trailer

George Lucas "hasn't seen" the latest 'Star Wars' trailer.
The 70-year-old director may have created the space opera but since selling his franchise to Disney in 2012, he has yet to catch up on the newest instalment.
Referring to the promo film for 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens', George explained: "I don't know anything about it. I haven't seen it yet."
When asked why he has so far refrained from watching the clip, which has been viewed more than 72 million times on YouTube, he told the New York Daily Post newspaper: "Because it's not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there.
"I plan to see it when it's released."
The trailer for the movie, which has been directed and written by J.J. Abrams, features a new lightsaber and the Millennium Falcon spaceship.
Due out in cinemas from December 2015, the new film stars Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, Harrison Ford as Hans Solo and Mark Hamill will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker.
In October, Jett Lucas - George's son - explained how his father was still very much involved in the 'Star Wars' process.
He told the website Flicks and the City: "He's constantly talking to JJ.
"Obviously JJ was handpicked. He is there to guide, whenever, he'll help where he can. At the same time, he wants to let it go and become its new generation."

Noel Gallagher: Coldplay will hand-deliver new album

Noel Gallagher says Coldplay will have Chris Martin "hand-deliver" their next album.
The former Oasis frontman has taken a jab at the 'Fix You' singer as he compared them to U2 - who had their 13th album 'Songs of Innocence' automatically downloaded onto iCloud for free in September 2014 - as he joked that Coldplay will visit each fan who buys their record and even offer to help around the house.
The 'Wonderwall' singer said: "I firmly believe we'll all get a knock on the door at some point over the next two years and Chris will be stood there. And he'll say, 'Alright man, you know, here's a Coldplay album.' And you'll go, 'Thanks.'
"And there's a ladder and he'll say, 'Bass player's [Guy Berryman] just fixing the guttering, Johnny [Buckland's] round the back, he's doing the gardening and I think Will [Champion's] going to put the recycling out, so enjoy.' And then he'll come back and say, 'Oh, I forgot - here's a tenner.'"
Despite the light-hearted tone, the 47-year-old rocker was adamant he will never give his music away "for free".
Speaking on BBC Radio 4's 'Mastertapes', Noel said: "Who knows what's going to happen. But for the record, no-one's getting anything out of me for free.
"I don't agree with music being given away for free because it costs a lot of money to make a record. Look, [U2] obviously don't need the money, good for them, but it's not something that I would ever consider."
