Wild boar ‘kills Princess Anne’s award-winning pig’

A wild boar has killed an award-winning pig on the farm of Britain's Princess Anne.
The 64-year-old royal is the owner of a farm in Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire and has confirmed the death to farmers at the Oxford Farming Conference.
She explained: "We had a visit last night on our farm from a wild boar. "My Gloucester Old Spot boar is no longer with us as a result."
The princess has kept the pigs on her farm in Gloucestershire for a number of years.
The announcement came shortly after a motorist was killed on the M4 in Wiltshire close to the royal estate after his car collided with a wild boar.
The incident is believed to be the first fatality of its kind involving a wild boar in the UK.
The animals, which were once native to Britain, can run at 30mph and climb 6ft barriers, and there are growing fears that their population could spiral out of control.
In recent weeks, there have been reports of dogs being attacked and seriously injured by the animals, while horses have also thrown their riders from the saddle on seeing the boar.

Queen Elizabeth expresses sympathy for victims of Paris attack

Britain's Queen Elizabeth has extended her sympathies to the President of France following the terrorism attacks in Paris.
The 88-year-old monarch has written a message to François Hollande in which she expresses her "sincere condolences" after 12 people were killed during an attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo yesterday morning (07.01.15).
In her message addressed to the French President, she wrote: "Prince Philip and I send our sincere condolences to the families of those who have been injured in Paris this morning.
"We send our thoughts and prayers to all of those who have been affected. Elizabeth R."
Four of Charlie Hebdo's well-known cartoonists, including its editor, were among those killed in the attacks, in addition to two police officers.
French police have launched a major search to find three men who fled from the scene in a car.
President Francois Hollande described the incident as a terrorist attack "of exceptional barbarity".
He added: "We are threatened because we are a country of liberty."
Meanwhile, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said: "It was a horrendous, unjustifiable and cold-blooded crime. It was also a direct assault on a cornerstone of democracy, on the media and on freedom of expression."

James Middleton’s business ‘falls deeper into debt’

The brother of Britain's Duchess of Cambridge has reportedly seen his company run into deeper debt.
James Middleton's food firm Nice Group London Ltd recorded losses of £23,353 in the 12 months to the end of March 2014, according to the latest accounts.
It was, therefore, the third straight year that the firm has failed to make a profit, the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.
In 2012/13, Nice Group London lost £21,148 and the year before that, the company lost £20,000.
What's more, the brother of the Duchess - who was known as Kate Middleton prior to her marriage to Prince William in 2011 - has seen the amount owed to creditors increase from just under £36,000 to almost £76,400 in the last 12 months.
Meanwhile, Clarence House has revealed details of some of the planned public engagements for the Duchess, who is currently pregnant with her second child.
The 32-year-old royal, who celebrates her birthday on Friday (09.01.15), will visit Barlby Primary School in London on January 15, where she will visit the Clore art room as part of her association with the Art Room charity.
The next day will see the Duchess attend an event hosted by the Fostering Network, where she will "celebrate the dedicated work of foster carers".

Chloe Goodman and Alexander O’Neal up for eviction

Chloe Goodman and Alexander O'Neal are up for eviction on 'Celebrity Big Brother' after being branded the most boring.
The 'Ex on the Beach' star and the 'Criticize' hitmaker both face going home in the first live eviction after former 'The Apprentice' candidate Katie Hopkins - who was asked to take on the role of the wicked witch and judge each housemate as they entered the reality series house - decided they were the least entertaining of the twelve celebrities.
Katie, 39, was moved to a private viewing room upon entering the house where she was entrusted with the task and when asked to give her opinions on her new housemates - who also include celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and 'Baywatch' actor Jeremy Jackson - she had little good to say about any of them.
However, after relishing the opportunity to criticise each of the celebrities, Katie was faced with yet another task in which she was instructed to be kind to all of her new housemates despite having insulted them in private throughout the night.
Reacting to her new orders, she said: "If you think I will be nice to that bunch of idiots, you have another thing coming. Why am I surrounded by a host of Americans, this show is British."
Katie was also asked to comfort Chloe and Alexander following the news they are set to public vote but was banned from revealing that it was her who'd selected them.
She was told: "You must be the first to console those getting evicted. No one must discover that you are nasty or that you have been cursed or there will be consequences."
'Celebrity Big Brother' continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.

Nicola McLean slams Alicia Douvall

Nicola McLean has branded Alicia Douvall a "h**".
The 33-year-old glamour model made the comments as 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant Alicia - with whom Nicola's ex-husband Tom Williams is rumoured to have cheated on her - made her way into the reality show house to mark the start of the latest series last night (07.01.15).
She wrote on Twitter: "This girls a h** #CBBAlicia (sic)."
Following her comment, Nicola quickly became involved in a bitter row on the social media site with former 'Big Brother' contestant Sallie Axl, who reminded her of her husband's alleged infidelity.
Sallie tweeted: "Haha @NicolaMcLean it's the girl your boyfriend f**ked behind your back #CBB awful".
To which Nicola replied: "boyfriend or husband? Your a f*****g **** sallie (sic)."
It isn't the first time the women have got into a heated debate on the social media site.
However, this time around Nicola's close friend Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace - who starred on the seventh series of 'Big Brother' - was quick to jump to her defence.
She tweeted: "Hate giving STINK P**** H*** airtime but B**h wants to chat s**t abt my girl? KNOW URSELF @sallieaxl can't WAIT to bump into u (sic)."
The post was later deleted and replaced by an explicit photo of Sallie with the caption: "Enough said. Self explanatory. Your a brass with zero class. Leave married women who are real mothers alone."
Sallie then posted a picture purportedly showing Aisleyne taking part in a sex party.
She has since told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Aisleyne is a complete uneducated bully to people. She started on me whilst I was in big brother . As she does with everyone.
"I don't understand why she is so quick to say her opinion."

Craig Revel Horwood trolled for adoption comments

Craig Revel Horwood received "horrid" abuse on Twitter after revealing he wanted to adopt a child.
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge claims to have been inundated with homophobic messages in the last month after revealing he would be open to having a civil partnership and adopting with his partner, Damon Scott, with whom he shares his Hampshire home.
He admitted: "We had trolling abuse when we said that we may want to adopt. Some people have been really horrid and abusive and disgusting."
The 50-year-old television star confessed he finds the situation perplexing as he believes they would be able to parent a child just as well as a heterosexual couple.
He explained: "There are kids out there who need education and they need foster homes to go to and they need people who are prepared to love them.
"A gay couple can offer that as much as a straight couple as they can't have children naturally.
"I don't know what the big fuss is about."
The dancer and choreographer added he does not understand people who are abusive to gay celebrities, noting 'Candle in the Wind' singer Elton John - who has four-year-old Zachary and 23-month-old Elijah with husband David Furnish - who still receives insults online despite supporting charities around the world.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "If you look at Elton John, he has enough money to build schools around the country.
"I know he is putting his money to good use in helping people so I don't know where these trolling people get off really.
"It is not acceptable when people say, 'I don't agree with your sexuality.'
"It is as good as being racist. And that is unacceptable. People have to learn to change and accept human nature."

Kim Fox faces heartbreak in EastEnders

Kim Fox will face heartbreak when she goes into premature labour in 'EastEnders'.
The expectant mother, played by actress Tameka Empson, recently returned from her job as an entertainer on a cruise ship with a mystery baby bump and it's now been reported she could face losing her first child.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Kim came back to Walford to be with her family at a time when she needs them the most.
"And that couldn't be more the case when she gives birth before she's supposed to.
"Everyone will have to rally round her and keep their fingers crossed that her baby pulls through."
Kim's return to Albert Square and upcoming pregnancy issues are just the beginning of what are set to be some big storylines for her, her sister Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), according to the BBC One soap's executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins.
Hinting that the father of Kim's baby and his family could be set to arrive in Walford, he said: "That's the start of an exciting story for the Truemans and Foxes.
"Denise, Kim and some new faces... but that's for later!"

Professor Green ‘fuming’ at lost bag

Professor Green has been left "f***ing fuming" after his bag got lost at an airport.
The 31-year-old star took to his Twitter account this morning (08.01.15) to hit out at Delta for being "completely incompetent", claiming the airline has lost his bag during a flight from New York to London and he is particularly furious because his luggage contained "thousands of pounds worth of clothes and shoes" as well as sentimental items.
He wrote: "Well done for being completely incompetent and losing my bag @delta good luck replacing what's in it if you don't find it. #uselessairline
"Add to that your airline isn't picking up the phone @delta @deltaassist and the uk have to telex messages they don't have numbers to call
"Things of sentiment, thousands and thousands of pounds worth of clothes and shoes / sneakers, the inconvenience. Cheers @delta @deltaassist
"No enquiry as to what my bag number is or anything @deltaassist - a continuation of the lack of help I've been given so far
"F***ing fuming mate
"Absolutely f***ing livid (sic)"
Pro - who is married to Millie Mackintosh - also claimed a similar thing had happened to fellow musicians Tinie Tempah, The Vamps and Example, who tweeted him to describe Delta as the "worst airline".
The 'Read All About It' hitmaker wrote: "Noticed this also happened a while ago to @TinieTempah a while ago @delta, twice as well. You make a habit of incompetence clearly.
"So thats @TinieTempah @example @vampsband and me RT @example: @professorgreen @Delta worst airline. The only time I've had a bag loss (sic)"
Pro took to his social networking account earlier in the day to voice his initial concerns when he was waiting at the baggage collection and his luggage had not appeared.
He wrote: "The anxious wait when your bag feels like it's taking a little bit too long to appear (sic)"

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting forgot to thank husband

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting's ex-boyfriend thanked her husband at the People's Choice Awards last night (07.01.14).
The 'Big Bang Theory' actress was so excited about picking up the Favourite Comedic TV Actress prize that she forgot to mention Ryan Sweeting in her speech, so when she joined her castmates to pick up Favourite Network TV Comedy, her co-star Johnny Galecki - who she dated secretly for two years until 2009 - gave the tennis hunk a shout-out on her behalf.
Johnny said: "Hey, just real quick, I'd like to take a brief moment, because Kaley forgot during her speech to thank her husband, Ryan."
He jokingly added: "You are my heart, and I can't imagine what I'd be without you."
Kaley, 29, patted Johnny on the shoulder and said: "I appreciate that, thanks."
Johnny, 39, has previously admitted he and Kaley have stayed "dear friends" since their break-up and he was among the guests at her wedding to Ryan in December 2013.
Kaley previously said of their friendship: "He was in the front row at my wedding, with a huge smile on his face.
"It took a minute, a bit of awkwardness. By the grace of God, we became best buddies and moved on in such an elegant way. [He's] one of my closest friends."

Chris Hemsworth’s prison terror

Chris Hemsworth feared for his life when he visited a prison.
The 31-year-old actor wanted to find out what life was like behind bars as part of his research for his role in 'Blackhat' - in which he plays a hacker who gets broken out of prison - but he admits he had second thoughts when he arrived at the correctional facility.
He recalled: "[We] got to the prison and I just felt all of a sudden, 'What am I doing here? My hair is [standing] on the back of my neck.
"And the warden says to us, 'OK, look this is at your own risk. Let me tell you, all they do is think about ways to kill people, so, just so you know.'
"[I was like,] 'What are we doing here then?' "
Chris - who has children India, two, and nine-month-old twins Sasha and Tristan with wife Elsa Pataky - was relieved to find he got off quite lightly with the inmates thanks to one of his most famous roles.
He told 'Access Hollywood': "I didn't even think about the Thor thing. Straight away, a lot of them had seen 'Thor,' and it was like 'Oh, Thor's in here.'
"They start heckling as I start walking down between the prison cells. And it was like, 'I've just been heckled!'
"And it wasn't abusive necessarily, it was slightly threatening."
Despite his fear, Chris found the trip worthwhile for his research.
He added:"Man, different world! And so for me, with the character, it just highlighted [that] you go in to prison as one person, you come out a completely different person, as did my character.
"That was so beneficial kind of seeing that. And it's a whole other language."

Jessica Chastain hits back at Russell Crowe

Jessica Chastain has hit back at Russell Crowe after he insisted there are plenty of film roles for older female stars.
The 37-year-old actress claims the 50-year-old actor - who still manages to land lead roles - clearly hasn't been going to the movies enough if he thinks there are plenty of parts around in motion pictures for women in their 50s and 60s.
She said: "I think he's getting his foot stuck in his mouth.
"I think there are some incredible actresses in their 50s and 60s that are not getting opportunities in films.
"And for someone to say there are plenty of roles for women that age - they're not going to the movies enough."
Her comments come after Russell slammed older female stars who complain about the film industry being discriminatory against women of a certain age, claiming Meryl Streep or Dame Helen Mirren would never do that.
Speaking in December, he said: "I think you'll find that the woman who is saying that [the roles have dried up] is the woman who at 40, 45, 48, still wants to play the ingénue, and can't understand why she's not being cast as the 21 year old.
"Meryl Streep will give you 10,000 examples and arguments as to why that's bulls**t.
"So will Helen Mirren, or whoever it happens to be."
Despite her criticism of Russell, Jessica appears to have her own problems as she still hasn't picked an outfit for the Golden Globes on Sunday (11.01.15), where she is up for the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama gong for 'A Most Violent Year'.
Speaking at the National Board of Review gala - where she picked up the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in the crime drama movie - she told the New York Daily News: "I have no idea what I'm wearing.
"It's the first time I've ever gone to an award show and not had more of an idea of what I was going to wear earlier."
