Our Girl to return for third series

‘Our Girl’ is set to return for another series.
The second installment of the war drama is yet to hit television screens across the nation but fans won’t have to wait too long for the next batch of episodes as writer Tony Grounds is already jotting down potential story ideas.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the screening of the series two in London on Thursday (01.09.16), Tony explained: "There’s lots of room for a third series as while the British army are out there in the world, there’s more stories to tell. It can go on for as long as the British army can."
And, although producers had to find a new star for the second series after Lacey Turner refused to return, Tony hopes Michelle Keegan – who he has cast as the lead Corporal Georgie Lane in the second series – will be back next year.
He explained: "I think there’s another series. She’s [Michelle has] got the legs for another series. With Lacey, we did the single film and then we did the series and so I’m sure Michelle doesn’t want to be doing it in 10 years time but hopefully she’ll come back. She was absolutely brilliant."
And no doubt Michelle will jump at the chance to film another series as she found it the "best experience."
She said: "It was emotionally draining and very tiring but I had the best time and I, obviously we were there for two months, thought I might get a bit homesick after a week but I’m not joking I loved every single second of it. It was a life experience for me but it was amazing."
