Only Fools and Horses to make comeback

‘Only Fools and Horses’ could make a comeback – but "in different mediums."
Fans were left devastated when it was revealed that the popular sitcom – starring Sir David Jason as Del Boy and Nicholas Lyndhurst as his silly brother Rodney Trotter – had been laid to rest after its creator and writer John Sullivan passed away 2011.
But John’s son Jim, who also helped write the spin-off ‘The Green Green Grass’ – has teased that he may pen something in the future for the well-loved characters.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "I’ve always said that Only Fools – the series as we know it – was laid to rest with my dad. However, that is not to say that the show and its characters cannot, and will not, be explored in different mediums.
"All I can say at the moment is: watch this space. Is it a question of protecting my father’s legacy? Absolutely – that has always been, and always will be, my priority."
Jim has plenty of experience when it comes to the characters as well as he previously wrote for ‘Only Fools and Horses’ in 2014 when he created a sketch, which saw Del Boy and Rodney join forces with David Beckham, for the Sport Relief charity special.
He explained: "I love to write, but much of that is now in connection with the series, such as the Del Boy autobiography ‘He Who Dares’. Writing the Sport Relief sketch was a great experience but I felt pressure to get it right and do justice to the characters."
Meanwhile, earlier this year, David admitted he had no desire to do anymore ‘Only Fools and Horses’ episodes without John.
He said at the time: "If we had the wonderful writer, the lovely John Sullivan, we would, I tell you. But we haven’t got a writer, and my partner Nick [Lyndhurst] has gone on to do other things. So you’re stuck with ‘Open All Hours’!"
