Nathalie Emmanuel misses Hollyoaks

Nathalie Emmanuel misses being in ‘Hollyoaks’.
Since departing the Channel 4 soap – on which she played Sasha Valentine – in 2010, the 29-year-old actress has become a worldwide star after landing the role of Missandei in HBO fantasy epic ‘Game of Thrones’, and while she still has a soft spot for the "fun" fictional Chester village, she simply doesn’t have time to tune into the show nowadays.
When asked if she misses ‘Hollyoaks’, while she was attending the production of ‘La Bohème’ at the English National Opera on Tuesday night (29.01.19), Nathalie exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Of course, it was a lot of fun.
"No, I don’t watch it now. I don’t have time to watch anything at the moment."
Nathalie’s final appearance as Sasha came just a month after Rachel Shenton’s ‘Oaks’ debut as Mitzeee Minniver in August 2010, and the 31-year-old actress has also hit the big time, winning an Oscar last year for her short film ‘The Silent Child’.
The pair are two of a number of soap stars who have tasted global success in recent years, with the likes of ex-‘EastEnders’ actors Ben Hardy and Rob Kazinsky going on to star in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ and ‘True Blood’ respectively after walking away from Walford.
And Nathalie insists it is "a load of rubbish" when some critics say soap stars can’t do anything else other than serial dramas.
She added: "That’s a load of rubbish, obviously, clearly. It has been demonstrated many, many times."
Despite tasting worldwide success with ‘Game of Thrones’, Nathalie cannot see herself swapping London for bright lights of Los Angeles anytime soon, admitting the City of Angles isn’t her "cup of tea".
Quizzed on whether she might move to LA, she added: "I never say never about anything. I like LA and I have fun when I visited there but at the moment it’s not really my cup of tea, but who knows?
"I have got so many people I love there so I would be perfectly happy being with them all the time."
As well as Nathalie, several other stars headed to the London Coliseum to take in a performance of ‘La Bohème’ at the English National Opera, including Lady Sophie Windsor, Alice Temperley, Alan Carr and classical singing sensation Natalie Rushdie.
