Natalie Portman: ‘Lauren Bacall disliked me’

Natalie Portman says Lauren Bacall disliked her.
The 35-year-old actress directed the legendary star – who passed away in 2014 at the age of 89 – in the short film ‘Eve’ in 2008 and Natalie admitted Lauren was completely unimpressed by her.
Speaking at a Q&A for her new movie, ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness’, Us Weekly reports that Natalie said: "I must be honest: She did not like me, but I loved her and admired her so much. She sensed in me what I learned later about myself … that I had a really hard time saying what I wanted and being the boss.
"When I was 26 on ‘Eve’ with Lauren I was not decisive, and she called me out on it and was totally right. But she was a total pro, despite the fact that she was so unimpressed by me. She was amazing in every take."
Natalie also revealed that it took her some time to be comfortable with being the boss on ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness’.
During the discussion with the 92nd Street Y’s Annette Insdorf in New York, she said: "It took me a few weeks to be comfortable saying ‘I want this,’ ‘I want that’.
Meanwhile, Natalie recently admitted that she doesn’t think she’ll ever be in another Marvel movie
The star has said that as far as she knows, her character Jane Foster – who she played in ‘Thor’ and its sequel – won’t be back.
She said: "As far as I know, I’m done. I don’t know if, maybe one day, they’ll ask for an Avengers 7 or whatever. I have no idea! But as far as I know I’m done. But it was a great thing to be a part of."
After briefly being mentioned by Thor in one scene of ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’, Jane Foster seems to have fallen off the radar and it would appear that the ‘Black Swan’ star hasn’t been asked to reprise her role in a future title.
