Selena Gomez yearned to make a ‘sexy’ song

Selena Gomez had been "aching" to make a "sexy" song like 'Good For You'.
The singer-and-actress made her name starring in Disney show 'Wizards of Waverly Place' and she was thrilled to get the chance to record her coming-of-age album 'Revival' - which featured her naked on the front cover and coincided with her moving out of her childhood home and hiring a new manager to replace her mother Mandy Cornett.
When Selena, 23, found her future smash hit 'Good For You' she knew it would be the song to showcase her seductive side and new-found confidence as a grown woman.
The track - which features ASAP Rocky - contains lyrics such as "I'm a Marquise diamond / Could even make that Tiffany jealous, mmm / You say I give it to you hard, so bad, so bad / Make you never wanna leave, I won't, I won't" and the video saw Selena writhing around in just a wet white T-shirt and sliding around on the floor in ripped jeans.
Speaking about the song, Selena said: "When I heard that song, I freaked out. I felt confident and comfortable in who I am. I felt sexy. I was aching to do stuff like that."
Although she started her career as an actress and wants to continue making movies, Selena has always been "obsessed" with music.
'The Big Short' star told Rolling Stone magazine: "It's complicated to make an artist out of thin air, and I think the first album was a little bit like that. Not to say that I wasn't passionate about music. My dad was a DJ, my mom was obsessed with every type of music possible, and I was on 'Barney' for two seasons, singing with a purple dinosaur."

Boy George: Everyone in make-up got a record deal over me

Boy George says "every other person in make-up" got a record deal before he did.
The 'Karma Chameleon' hitmaker enjoyed huge success with his new-wave-pop outfit Culture Club in the '80s, but revealed they struggled to get noticed among other singers who wore eyeliner and had an androgynous style.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, he said: "When I started my band I could not get signed. Every other person in make-up got a record deal. I could not get signed, it was like 'what's wrong with me?'. And then it happened by accident, it was like one happy accident after another and I had a career... But there's no rules about any of these things anymore, you've just got to fight for it."
The 54-year-old star - real name George Alan O'Dowd - thinks pop-music is now as unpredictable as a "headless chicken" and he is glad to be a coach on BBC talent show 'The Voice', because it gives artists a platform to showcase their talent.
He mused: "On Youtube there's records that I've never heard of but have got like, 60 million hits. We live in a different age now. That old relationship that people had with artists and music, it just doesn't exist. So what is a star, what's a hit, what's a chart, you know? For me, pop music at the moment is like a headless chicken.
"What 'The Voice' does is it gives people an opportunity to be on telly, with millions of people watching you, and then what you do with it... you know that saying? 'It's your attitude not your aptitude that governs your altitude.'

Guns N’ Roses confirmed for Coachella

Guns N' Roses have been confirmed to headline Coachella Festival.
The band members' involvement in the musical event had been rumoured for several months, but was officially announced on Tuesday (05.01.16).
Alongside a host of emojis, Axl Rose took to Twitter after the announcement, writing: "Ok,ok... It's "confirmed!" Guns N' Roses is Headlining Coachella 2016!! See Everyone There!!"
The line-up for the band has yet to be revealed, but it is rumoured that the band will reunite its original members - Axl, Slash and bassist Duff McKagan.
It has also been reported that the band are planning a tour, but guitarist Richard Fortus previously revealed the band's future was "up in the air".
He said: "The current state of Guns N' Roses is pretty up in the air. The last I heard they wanted to finish up the recordings that we have and put them out next year and start touring. But it has been a while since I've heard from anybody in that camp as far as management or Axl. So I really don't know."
Coachella will therefore mark the first time the band have performed together in two decades.
Other names among the line-up for 2016 festival include DJ Calvin Harris, who will headline the closing night.
Organisers are sure to be hoping Calvin's famous girlfriend Taylor Swift will be supporting her beau at the event - drawing more attention to the festival.
Headlining the opening night will be LCD Soundsystem, which will see the first time the band have performed since retiring in 2011.

Lemmy’s favourite bar to host tribute to late rocker

Late Motörhead frontman Lemmy will be remembered at a tribute night by his The Rainbow Bar and Grill in Hollywood.
The 'Ace of Spades' hitmaker - who passed away aged 70 last month after a short battle with an "extremely aggressive cancer" - will be remembered on January 9 with a special 12-hour memorial at the West Hollywood drinking den on the Sunset Strip which he considered his spiritual home.
The Los Angeles bar's owner Mikael Maglieri, comforted the late rocker by installing his favourite video game from the bar into his home so he could play it in his finals hours.
Maglieri announced the event on The Rainbow Bar and Grill's Facebook page - along with an image of Lemmy playing the game.
The post read: "Join us as we say goodbye to a dear friend and loved one. We will open our doors at 2pm. Come celebrate the life of Lemmy Kilmister. Legends never die."
Since it was revealed Lemmy had died on December 28 The Rainbow Bar and Grill has become a makeshift shrine to the rocker with fans leaving tributes and memorials outside the venue.

Boy George was ready to quit UK

Boy George was planning to move to America so Britain would "scream" for him to come back.
Just before he was offered a judging role on 'The Voice', the 54-year-old Culture Club singer was going to move to the US in order to put his past troubles behind him including a 2005 conviction for falsely reporting a burglary in Manhattan which earned him a community service order.
George - who made the burglary call to police while high on cocaine - wanted to make America his permanent home because he felt the country was willing to give him a clean slate as opposed to his home country.
He said: "I kind of felt like, I'm going to America, they are going to fall in love with me and then my country is going to scream for me to come back.
"When I went back to New York for the first time [after his community service], I fully expected every television programme to show footage of me sweeping up the city. They just didn't do it and I thought, 'That's amazing.' I was really shocked. It was like, 'You did this. It's over. You did your community service. We don't want to talk about it any more.' That's why I love America."
George - who served four months of a 15-month jail sentence in 2009 for the assault and false imprisonment of a man - eventually got clean of drugs and made a vow to rebuild his music career and reputation, and he is proud he has achieved his goals.
He told The Times newspaper: "We're getting there over here. I've always been insanely optimistic. But I do remember saying to myself, 'You have to make this right. You have to rebuild this, brick by brick. Everything. Myself. My career. My life.' It was, 'OK, I'm in charge now and I need to kind of really get this together.'
"There is no margin of error. There is just no way. My mother would be, 'Arrrrggh!' She would disown me. Well, she probably wouldn't because she loves me, but there is just no way ... no way. I'm out of chances."

Britney Spears gets caught in tree on stage in Vegas

Britney Spears avoided injury after getting stuck in a tree stage prop while performing in Las Vegas on Saturday night (02.1.16).
The 34-year-old pop superstar was midway through singing her hit 'Toxic' at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and about to carry out a stage stunt when her safety harness stopped working.
According to gossip website TMZ, Britney was supposed to fly across the crowd, but the malfunction meant she didn't take off and a stage director had to rescue the singer before she carried on with her performance.
The blonde beauty was performing a show as part of her Las Vegas concert residency 'Britney: Piece of Me', and still had the prop attached to her as she walked down stairs to continue singing.
The 'Alien' hitmaker avoided social media after the incident, however, she has vowed to keep "shaking things up" when she takes to the stage for the final show of the series, in its current form, on Monday night (04.1.16).
Alongside a video of her on stage, she wrote on Twitter: "Last show of #PieceOfMe as you know it!! Looking forward to shaking things up! (sic)"
It's not the first mishap of 2016 for Britney, she recently bruised her forehead after hitting it on a metal pole.
She previously shared on Twitter: "Good morning 2016! Don't mind the little bruise on my forehead ... Ran into a pole (sic)"

Liam Gallagher rules out solo album

Liam Gallagher has ruled out releasing a solo album.
In a random outburst on Twitter, the former Oasis frontman angrily stated he would not make an LP on his own because he is "not a ****".
The unprompted tweet, which was posted in the early hours of Monday morning (04.01.16), read: "Solo record are you f***ing tripping d***head im not a **** LG X (sic)"
The outburst was preceded by a cryptic message written by the 43-year-old singer which stated: "Excuse me sir has your dog been at your passport why you jealous fatty LG X"
Oasis split in 2009 when Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher walked out on the group following a furious backstage bust-up with his sibling.
Noel, 48, went on to release two critically and commercially successful solo albums under the name Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Liam formed new band Beady Eye with fellow former Oasis members Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
After releasing two albums they disbanded in October 2014.
Since then Liam has not unveiled any new music but was rumoured to be working on new material with The La's singer/songwriter Lee Mavers last year.
It was revealed last month the 'Wonderwall' singer is keen to reform Oasis with Noel in court papers submitted as evidence for his recent divorce from ex-wife Nicole Appleton.
The papers stated Liam "would like" to get Oasis back together but the proposition is "unlikely" at this time.
Judge O'Dwyer revealed in his settlement ruling: "[Liam] says there are no plans to reform and, although he would like to do so, he does not anticipate there is a possibility currently of any such reform.
"Although he expressly would like to re-enter the music business, currently he says there is no prospect of that."

Blake Shelton: I’m so connected to my new album

Blake Shelton is "laying it out there" with his upcoming new album.
The 39-year-old singer has had an eventful few months, following his split from Miranda Lambert and new relationship with Gwen Stefani, but is using his personal life drama to inspire music for his record.
He explained: "I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, and that's put all I've gone through and put it into music, and I never felt more connected to a record before.
"When people hear this record, they may not know what happened to me, but they're gonna know how I felt about it. And that's exciting for me, to just lay it out there for people."
Blake used his songwriting as a method of coping with the changes in his life and, as a result, has a wealth of material for the album.
He added to Country Countdown USA: "I have, I've written more than I've written in 15 years, for obvious reasons, all the awful things that have happened in my personal life, but the way the year ended is also the greatest of my life.
"I found some people in my life that have changed my life forever. Some has been bad and some that's been pretty good."

Jack Garratt’s 8 years worth of bad songs

Jack Garratt wrote "eight years" worth of bad songs.
The 'Worry' hitmaker - who recently won the BRITs 2016 Critics' Choice Award - admits he has wrote his fair share of terrible songs but feels it has improved his skills now and into the future.
He told The Sunday Times' Culture magazine: "I was playing it safe - I was too in love with how I came across on stage, how my voice sounded, the guitar licks I played, to think about the songs I was writing. I was basically writing s**t.
"But every songwriter has to come from somewhere. And every songwriter writes a bad song. You have to, otherwise, how can you write a good one, if you've got nothing to compare it to? The problem is, I spent about eight years just writing bad ones. OK, I'm doing myself a disservice in support of this point but there's some truth in it."
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old singer previously revealed he is already planning on where to store his awards - in the bathroom so his guests can practice their own speeches in front of the mirror.
He told BANG Showbiz: "As it stands, I'm going to keep all of them in my bathroom at home in Chicago just because I want people to go in the bathroom and see all the awards and they can have an acceptance speech on their own in the bathroom."
