Timothy Spall learnt to paint for Mr Turner

Timothy Spall spent four years learning how to paint for his role in 'Mr Turner'.
The 57-year-old star was awarded the Best Actor gong at Cannes Film Festival for his portrayal of artist JMW Turner and he's revealed it took him years to prepare for the role, which required him to recreate his character's oil paintings.
Referring to one of his masterpieces, Spall said: "It's actually on my wall at home now."
The film examines the last 25 years of Turner's life, which he spent living with his mistress Sophia Booth, and Spall insists his character's relationship had nothing to do with love.
He told The Times newspaper: "Turner was not the marrying kind. He liked women for comfort and sex.
"He was a most unusual man; the last person, if you met him in the street, that you could imagine becoming one of the greatest artists we have ever known."
Spall - who is best known for his appearances in the 'Harry Potter' series and his portrayal of Winston Churchill in 'The King's Speech' - was amazed by the critical praise he received for his award-winning performance in 'Mr Turner'.
He confessed: "I've never read anything like it. My reviews are normally, 'Pretty good actor, shame about the face'. It's only taken 38 years. It all comes to them that waits."

Resident Evil 6 to be last film in franchise

'Resident Evil 6' will be the last film in the franchise.
The futuristic thriller, speculatively titled 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter', is very likely to be the final ever instalment of the Milla Jovovich-starring series, according to director Paul W.S. Anderson.
Probed about the significance of the movie's name, Anderson confirmed: "That's what's on the title page. It's 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter', so absolutely."
The filmmaker is still in the middle of writing a final script and isn't yet sure when it will be ready for production.
He told Collider.com: "There are no set dates for shooting yet. I think we're waiting until we have a first draft screenplay and then go from there.
"I don't know [when it will be in theatres]. Depends how fast I write, I guess. There's no set date yet but hopefully we'll have an announcement for that soon."
The post-zombie apocalypse series follows Jovovich's character Alice as she takes on a shady Umbrella organization and is one of the most successful video game adaptations of all time.
Following the first film's release in 2002, its popularity has only grown, with 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' grossing a massive $300 million worldwide.

Steven Seagal doesn’t like Expendables stars

Steven Seagal won't star in any of 'The Expendables' films because he doesn't like some of the people involved.
The 62-year-old star has famously rubbished the idea of ever joining the star-studded cast of the ensemble action films and he's now revealed the reason behind the decision.
Quizzed on why he'd never appeared in the film series, he said: "I just didn't like some of the people involved."
'The Expendables' stars Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Jason Statham and Jet Li while Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger joined the cast for 'The Expendables 2'.
Although the cast of the upcoming third instalment 'The Expendables 3' has added even more names, including Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford, Seagal insists he's still not interested.
He told The Big Issue: "Life is too short to work with funny people."
However, the 'Under Siege' star has confirmed that he would consider putting together his own team of action heroes for his own production.
Quizzed on whether he'd thought of assembling his own team to take on 'The Expendables', he said: "That might happen. I like Jason Statham. I like Jet Li, people like that."
Stallone - who directed the first film in the series - has previously admitted to disagreements with Seagal in the past.
He said: "Steven Seagal said he 'didn't associate with that kind of element' - meaning me. So I slammed him up against a wall."

Olivia Munn told acting was a ‘silly dream’

Olivia Munn was told becoming an actress was a "silly dream".
The 'Iron Man 2' star has confessed that she didn't make the move to Hollywood to pursue a career in acting until she was 23-years-old because her family never supported her aspirations.
She said: "I grew up with a lot of, 'You're not good enough, you're not smart enough, that's a silly dream, that's a stupid dream', so I learned at a young age to keep my dream inside."
The 33-year-old actress admits she was worried about disappointing her mother so instead decided to study for a degree in journalism, but after working as a reporter for a year and feeling as though she was at a "dead end" she decided to broach the subject of acting one more time.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about her change of heart, she explained: "The fear is that if I go there [Hollywood] and try, and I don't make it, then I know that I tried and couldn't do it.
"I said that to my mom, and she goes, 'Well, you can always come back and answer doctor phones'. So if my mom's not going to be disappointed in me, then why not?"
Despite making the decision to follow her dreams, Munn insists you have to be prepared to fail if you want to be an actor.
She added: "Just because you want it, just because you have a dream, just because you work really hard, it doesn't mean that it works out, so you just have to work as hard as you can, keep your head down, say thank you as much as possible."

Simon Kinberg: X-Men: Apocalypse set in 1983

Simon Kinberg has revealed 'X-Men: Apocalypse' will be set in 1983.
The 40-year-old writer and producer of the superhero film series made the revelation during a podcast about the latest instalment, 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', according to ComicBookMovie.com.
Kinberg stated that the "next movie takes place in 1983", meaning there will be a ten year gap between 'Apocalypse' and the events of 'Days of Future Past'.
The news also means that Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and James McAvoy's (Professor X) characters will be twenty years older than when they first appeared in 'X-Men: First Class', suggesting they will have to undergo an ageing makeover for the next film.
It is so far unknown how Apocalypse himself will be introduced into the series, although it's been suggested that something earth-shattering will have to take place in the intervening ten years in order to awaken the world's oldest mutant.
Fassbender and McAvoy are expected to be rejoined by 'Days of Future Past' co-stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast) and Evan Peters (Quicksilver), and it's also been confirmed that younger versions of characters Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm will appear, along with Gambit and possibly a younger Nightcrawler.
'X-Men: Apocalypse' is scheduled for UK release on May 19 2016.

Gerard Butler struggled to top ‘Olympus has fallen’ with ‘London Has Fallen’ sequel

Gerard Butler insists the sequel to 'Olympus Has Fallen' will be "pretty insane".
The '300' actor - who will reprise his role as secret service agent Mike Banning in 'London Has Fallen' - claims it will be a struggle to make it as good as the original, but is convinced they'll be able to do so.
He told Collider.com: "That ['London Has Fallen'] was one that kind of came out of nowhere. The first one ['Olympus Has Fallen'] was pretty insane and it's the same with this. How do you top that? But that's what we are trying to do right now."
Although Butler, 44, is yet to start filming the movie- which is due out in October next year and also stars Morgan Freeman and Aaron Eckhart - he let slip that the plot will be just as thrilling as the previous instalment.
He said: "It's about a terrorist attack in London and the president is over there because there's a funeral for the British Prime Minister which is part of the plot to get everybody who is anybody to London. Then the s**t hits the fan."
Meanwhile, Butler's latest movie 'How To Train Your Dragon 2' opened in cinemas this week.
The hunky actor - who plays Stoick the Vast in the new animation - recently described making the children's movie as "beautiful exhilarating experience".
Talking on US chat show, 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', he said:"It's good fun making an animated movie. Especially when you do your thing, your voice, then you let it go. It took a while, it was three years in the making, then I'm like an audience member and I turn up and I'm blown away. It's such a beautiful exhilarating experience."
