Sophie Turner to star in Mary Shelley’s Monster

Sophie Turner is to play the title role in 'Mary Shelley's Monster', a new biopic of 'Frankenstein' author Mary Shelley.
The 18-year-old 'Game of Thrones' actress will appear in the film alongside 'War Horse' star Jeremy Irvine, who will play the poet Percy Shelley, her on-screen lover and eventual husband.
Producer Rose Ganguzza says 'Mary Shelley's Monster' will tell the story of "the most extraordinary 19th century teenage heroine told in a visceral, sexy, contemporary way".
She told Deadline.com: "Our film is not a period drama. It is a story of youth that transcends time, a gothic romance, a love triangle that involves a dark passenger and we are tremendously excited to have such an exciting cast onboard this wonderful project."
The flick will also feature Taissa Farmiga, star of 'Higher Ground', while directing responsibilities have been handed to Coky Giedroyc, who is best known for her work with TV dramas, such as 'Wuthering Heights' and 'The Virgin Queen'.
In addition to Rose Ganguzza, the film will be produced by J Todd Harris, Damon Lane and Marc Marcum.
Filming is set to begin later this year in the UK and Malta, although a release date is still to be announced.

Jamie Dornan wanted for King Arthur

Guy Ritchie wants Jamie Dornan to take the lead role in his King Arthur film series.
The 'Snatch' director was "blown away" when he met the 32-year-old actor and is desperate to sign him up for his forthcoming set of blockbuster movies for Warner Bros., but it could prove difficult because of the hunky star's commitment to three 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movies.
A source said: "Jamie is hot property in Hollywood. Guy was completely blown away when he met him and wanted to offer the part immediately.
"Jamie is keen on the role, too, and his US agents are keen to work out a deal where he'll be able to do both franchises. They have to convince Universal to allow Jamie to make the film with Warner Brothers, which isn't looking promising."
Dornan is said to be particularly keen to land the role because he doesn't want to be typecast by 'Fifty Shades', in which he plays kinky businessman Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Jamie is keen to take on other roles and prove that he's an adaptable actor.
"He fears the huge 'Fifty Shades' franchise will be all he's associated with."
It was previously revealed Guy was close to casting Idris Elba in the first of his planned movie series, a reimagining of the story of King Arthur and his legendary knights of the kingdom of Camelot.

James Gunn looks forward to Guardians of the Galaxy sequel

'Guardians of the Galaxy' director James Gunn is already working on a sequel to the sci-fi film.
The first movie - starring Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Chris Pratt - opened in cinemas over the last couple of weeks, but Gunn is refusing to let the dust settle, revealing he has already developed a "basic story" for the sequel.
He told Empire: "I've thought a lot about where these characters are going and where they came from, things we've gotta find out. There has been a lot of world building we've done that we get to play with in the second movie.
"There have been a lot of documents passed around about who Peter Quill's father is, and things like that, between a select two or three of us. That's been part of the plan since the beginning, that's something I had to work out and I worked it out before we shot the screenplay."
Although Gunn, 44, admits the sequel is still in its infant stages, the director is excited by the creative process.
He added: "Sometimes you have ideas and you write them down and they're too convoluted on paper and it's too many ideas for one thing or it's not enough ideas or whatever and so that could easily change, but I know a lot about who these characters are and where they came from and where they're going."

Ricky Gervais recalls failed music career to write Life on the Road

Ricky Gervais is using his own failed music career to inspire his latest film 'Life on the Road'.
The much-anticipated flick will follow the musical exploits of David Brent - the focal point of Gervais' most famous comedy creation 'The Office', which was set in a paper merchants in Slough - and the 53-year-old comedian said his personal experiences of making music is helping to inspire the script.
He told ITV's 'This Morning': "I brought him back briefly for Comic Relief, because people were asking, 'What is he doing now?'
"So it's ten years after 'The Office' and he is currently going up and down the UK selling cleaning products, but he's never let go of that dream of being a popstar!
"He thinks he can still make it... and thinks he might get signed if he goes on tour, so the film will be about that. I failed miserably myself [as a popstar] so I've put it into this! It is fun being on stage."
Asked when fans can expect the film to hit cinema screens, Gervais added: "I'm writing it now, and we film it next year, so will be out two years from now."

Daniel Radcliffe is a romantic

Daniel Radcliffe considers himself to be a romantic.
The 25-year-old actor told reporters at the UK premiere of his new romantic comedy 'What If', in London's Leicester Square, that the role he plays bares some similarities to his off-screen personality.
Radcliffe - who is dating actress Erin Darke in real life - said: "I am fairly romantic, at least as my character is in the film. I've surprised people with trips to New York before and such things.
"But sometimes it backfires on me."
Despite seeing parallels between himself and his on-screen character Wallace - a medical school drop-out who falls in love with his closest friend, played by Zoe Kazan - Radcliffe says he did not change his approach to the role.
Radcliffe - who found international fame playing Harry Potter - said: "It (being a romantic lead) was great fun. But when approaching the film, I don't think I thought, 'It's this genre' so I have to act a certain way.
"You just approach it as a character. He's the closest character to me that I've played."
'What If' features Adam Driver, Mackenzie Crook and Rafe Spall, and opens in cinemas on August 20.
