Steve Carell wants to star in a musical.
The 'Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day' actor sang in a number of stage productions when he was a student, and would love to tread the boards once again, or show off his vocals on film even though he isn't a great singer.
He said: "I did a bunch of musicals back on college, 'Oklahoma', 'Cabaret'. I would love to do a musical some time.
"I can carry a tune, I don't think I'm a great singer but I could fake it."
If he weren't an actor, the 52-year-old star is convinced he would have become a teacher.
Asked what he would have done if he hadn't acted, he said in an interview on UK station BBC Radio 2: "I would be a teacher at a prep school, I can almost guarantee I would be teaching history and English and coaching a sport, perhaps hockey."
Meanwhile, Steve has revealed he made barely any money from either of the 'Anchorman' movies but insists that was never his motivation for appearing in the films with Will Ferrell.
Asked whether 'Anchorman' or 'The Office' made him more money, he said: "A long running TV show like 'The Office', that would make more money. 'Anchorman', especially the first one, I was a complete unknown and made very little money, the second one we just wanted to come back, it wasn't about making money, it was just for the love of it. It was just fun to do, it was ridiculous and silly, just hanging out with those guys was a party."

Guillermo del Toro wants to make 'Pacific Rim 3'.
The 50-year-old director is due to start shooting the sequel to the robots versus monsters movie in November with it being scheduled for an April 2017 release date, but he is already planning the third instalment.
According to Guillermo, the movie's writers Zak Penn and Travis Beacham have already completed the first draft of the script ahead of filming late next year and have left the second instalment open to pave the way for another movie.
The Mexican movie-maker told Collider.com: "Some of your favourite characters come back, some others don't because we have decided that we're going to shoot ambitiously and say, 'Let's hope we have three movies,' so some characters come in at the end of the second, hoping that it will ramp up on the third one."
While Guillermo has pleased audiences with his decision to extend the franchise, he recently left 'Hellboy' fans disappointed by claiming it would be "almost impossible" to produce a third film in the comic book franchise as it isn't financially viable.
He said: "Creatively, I would love to make it. Creatively.
"But it is proven almost impossible to finance. Not from my side, but from the studio side. If I was a multimillionaire, I would finance it myself, but I spend all my money on rubber monsters."

Nicholas Hoult says 'Mad Max: Fury Road' is a "strange" movie.
The 24-year-old actor plays adrenaline-junkie Nux in the post-apocalyptic flick and upon seeing the rough cut he was surprised by the unusual dialogue in the film.
He told MTV.com: "I've seen a rough cut. I was just sitting there, going like, 'Whoa.'
"It's a 300-page comic book, technically. You have the odd word, but the dialogue, it's strange, the words they used.
"They didn't speak like I would speak, or like anybody would speak nowadays."
The 'Jack the Giant Slayer' star is very excited for film fans to see the movie and credits writer, director and creator of the 'Mad Max' series George Miller for having the genius to create such a compelling film and fictional world.
Hoult said: "He's so smart. The world he's created, it just looks stunning."
The film also stars Charlize Theron, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Tom Hardy who is taking over the title role from Mel Gibson who portrayed 'The Road Warrior' in three previous movies.
Meanwhile, Hoult is soon to start filming 'X-Men: Apocalypse' with his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence, with several racy scenes planned between their respective characters Beast (Hoult) and Mystique (Lawrence).
A source said: "It's a huge ensemble franchise but the point of the latest film was to strip that back and focus on Jen and Nick's characters' relationship. Earlier this year that seemed like a great idea, but now they've split and it's too late to rewrite the script. They are very professional of course, and will make it work."

Shailene Woodley went on a health kick while filming 'White Bird in a Blizzard'.
The 22-year-old actress bought her own organic meals to the set and would only drink out of glass jars during shooting on the thriller.
Her 'White Bird in a Blizzard' co-star Mark Indelicato revealed that Shailene wasn't a fan of his smoking and even bought him a natural alternative.
He told the New York Post newspaper: "I smoke cigarettes and she's obviously not a big fan. But she gave me this jar of tobacco that's all natural."
Shailene's healthy lifestyle is clearly paying off, though, as she admitted that she looks "great" naked.
Talking about her sex scene in the film, she said: [It's] crazy. And sort of wrong. But I felt great doing it. I was not fully robed. And our bodies had no make-up. Who needs make-up? I'm only 22. My boobs are great. They don't need any help. My parents saw the film. I thought it might be awkward, but they both loved it."
She also urged other women to stop putting down their girlfriends.
Shailene said: "Women should be there for other women. It's such cruelty and competition out there. Women must help other women. Not say those ugly things about the others just out of their insecurity. I don't believe in that."

Eddie Murphy is to play the lead role in 'Cook'.
The 53-year-old actor has been cast in the drama movie - based on a true story - as a chef who is hired by a dying man to make meals and care for his girlfriend and daughter after he has passed away.
The film is being directed by Bruce Beresford, while Susan McMartin penned the script and '300' producer Mark Canton is among the producers on the flick.
According to reports, Samuel L. Jackson was originally up for the part but he had to turn it down because of scheduling conflicts on other projects.
No other casting announcements have been made and
Shooting is due to start on 'Cook' in November.
Previously speaking to Empire about the film, Canton described the plot as a "great" story and says people will see wisecracking Eddie in a totally different to what they're used to.
He told the magazine: "It's a great screenplay. It's a small story - a true story - of a family and a guy who comes into their lives. You have to come up with either really great big franchise driven movies or little character driven movies. Those are the two businesses to be in. I'm in both ... This will be Eddie Murphy like you've never seen him. Of that I can assure you."
Eddie is also reprising his most famous role as fast-talking Detroit police detective Axel Foley in 'Beverly Hills Cop IV'.

Jaime Winstone accepted a role in 'Love, Rosie' because she believes "true love can conquer all".
The actress, whose father is Hollywood star Ray Winstone, appears in the new romantic-comedy alongside Lily Collins, and she says that although she's not typically a fan of the genre, she couldn't pass up the opportunity to appear in the film.
The 29 year old explained to the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "I'm not usually a fan of romantic comedies. But when I read the script for 'Love, Rosie' I fell in love with it straight away.
"It was one of those moments when you instantly think, 'I'm attached to this story'. I've never met author Cecilia [Ahern], but I would love to, because her book really touched my heart. I do believe in the film's message: that there is one person - or soul mate - for everyone and that true love can conquer all. I hope so anyway! I've had plenty of experiences of toying with love, so who knows?"
For this reason, Jaime says she would never turn to online dating as she considers it to be unromantic.
She said: "For me, it goes against the grain of meeting someone in a natural way and having real chemistry. I love how romance is so complicated but also so clear: as is the case with Rosie and Alex in the film."

Jena Malone is set for a "mystery role" in 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, several sources have confirmed the 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay' actress will appear in the superhero movie and while it is not known which role she will play in the motion picture, it has been rumoured she could be a female version of Batman's sidekick Robin.
The speculation comes following a report on Central Michigan NBC affiliate WILX-10 which mentioned Jena's name while describing a scene involving Ben Affleck's Batman battling with Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor.
As a result, the rumour mill has suggested a female Robin could be introduced into the movie as character Carrie Kelley, a schoolgirl in 'The Dark Knight Returns' who is saved by Batman.
Such speculation comes after Affleck revealed 'Batman v. Superman' director Zack Snyder was "heavily influenced" by the 1980s Frank Miller miniseries.
Speaking about the 'Dark Knight Returns' comic books, he explained: "I will say that I think Zack was heavily influenced by that.
"I think everyone's heavily influenced by that ... that's the seminal work. So, I don't think that there's any of these which have been made that haven't drawn from that book because it's so good.
"So, you know, I think if you're smart you steal from the best."
Henry Cavill is to star as Superman in the upcoming movie, while Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman and Amy Adams will appear as Lois Lane.
The hotly-anticipated film is set for a March 2016 release.

Sam Taylor-Johnson got the late Alexander McQueen to "vet" Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' director, 47, organised a special dinner to find out what her British fashion designer pal - known as Lee to his friends - thought of her then-boyfriend, whom she met on the set of 2009's 'Nowhere Boy,' just months before he committed suicide in 2010.
She said: "Lee was a close friend, so when I met Aaron, Lee obviously wanted to meet him and vet him.
"We had this really fun dinner, and at the end of the evening Lee said, 'I so see you two getting married and staying together forever. I want to make your wedding dress.' So I said, 'Yes, of course!' "
Following the designer's tragic death, Sarah Burton stepped in to design Sam's gown for her wedding to Aaron, 24, in 2012.
She added to Harper's Bazaar magazine: "After that terrible thing that happened, Sarah sort of picked up the mantle and said, 'I'll make it in the spirit of him.'
"It was quite an emotional experience for both Sarah and me to go through the process of making that dress. There were lots of tears. But it was nice to feel in wearing that dress that he was part of the ceremony in a way."

Zoe Saldana plans to "slow down" when she gives birth to her twins in eight weeks.
The 'Book of Life' star, who is expecting two baby boys with her husband Marco Perego, says she is looking forward to a break from her busy schedule, as she wants to breastfeed her children.
The 36-year-old actress said: "I might need to slow down to breast-feed."
Meanwhile, Marco thinks Zoe looks more beautiful than ever and is being very protective of her since she entered her third trimester.
An insider said: "He won't let her go anywhere without him."
The artist even accompanied the actress to a press conference for her latest movie earlier this month and waited by the door until she was finished.
The source added to Us Weekly magazine: "He couldn't take his eyes off her."
The couple, who were friends for years before they started dating last year, tied the knot in a secret ceremony in London in June 2013.
She previously said: "As soon as we decided we were going to get married, we didn't wait. We did it three weeks later. That part was very, very quick."
She added: "I've known my partner for five years. I knew of his work. I knew of him. Then we met. And months later, we both made the decision to do what we both individually vowed never to do - to get married."
