Orson Welles last film to be released

Orson Welles' final movie will finally be released next year.
The acclaimed filmmaker had worked on 'The Other Side of the Wind' - which chronicles a temperamental film director battling with the Hollywood establishment - for 15 years until his death in 1985 but legal battles among the rights holders meant it has never been finished or screened.
However, Royal Road Entertainment claim they have now agreed to buy the rights and aim to have the film finished for a screening on May 6, 100 years since the director was born.
'Other Side of the Wind' line producer Frank Marshall said: "We will set up a cutting room and Peter Bogdanovich and I will assemble the film.
"We have notes from Orson Welles. We have scenes that weren't quite finished, and we need to add music. We will get it done. The good news is that it won't take so long because of all of the technology today."
Royal Road spent five years negotiating to buy the picture from rights holders Beatrice Welles - the director's daughter and sole heir - his longterm collaborator and companion Oja Kodar, and production company L'Astrophore.
For Oja - who claims to have a 45-minute edited work print made of the film by Welles - she felt the time was right for the movie to be made.
She said: "I am going to sign the contract. The catalyst is the hundred-year anniversary and everybody is moving in a kind of wave. When I finally see it on the screen, then I will tell you that the film is done."
Meanwhile, Beatrice said it took the "right people" to come along and persuade her of their vision.
She told the New York Times newspaper: "It took the right people to come along. They wanted to talk to me and did not want any outsiders.
"Until now this movie has been under lock and key under French law. I had the good fortune to be able to protect it.
"When we talked, we laughed and joked. It was just this amazing rapport. What came through to me was their true love of art.""

Daniel Radcliffe names Sirius Black as his favourite Harry Potter character

Daniel Radcliffe has revealed Sirius Black is his favourite character from the 'Harry Potter' franchise.
The 25-year-old actor explained that although he'd always been a fan of the character, he became especially enamored with Sirius due to Gary Oldman's portrayal of him.
Speaking during his Reddit AMA, the English star was asked to name his favourite Potter character, to which he replied: "Probably Sirius. Like I always loved the character, and then Gary [Oldman]'s portrayal of him I thought was perfect. Or Lupin, really.
"Any of the characters my dad used to hang out with, other than Wormtail. There was always something about those two guys I loved a lot."
Radcliffe also thanked his parents for helping to keep him grounded since finding fame.
He reflected: "I would attribute it to my parents and also to the crew of the Potter films, who were very good at treating us like kids rather than as actors, as they should have done. But yeah, it's hard to say what it comes down to."
The actor said the issue came into even sharper focus as co-star Emma Watson approached her 18th birthday.
He continued: "I think when you see that perspective that we all saw at very young ages, you do get an extra level of awareness maybe."

Plot details of Terminator: Genisys revealed

Plot details of 'Terminator: Genisys' have been revealed.
In the upcoming film, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator will raise the character of Sarah Connor, who was orphaned at the age of nine and has spent the majority of her life being protected by a terminator.
Reflecting on the plot of the much-anticipated new film, producer David Ellison told Entertainment Weekly: "Since she was 9 years old, she has been told everything that was supposed to happen.
"But Sarah fundamentally rejects that destiny. She says, 'That's not what I want to do'. It's her decision that drives the story in a very different direction."
The role of Sarah will be played by 'Game of Thrones' star Emilia Clarke, 27, while other actors and actresses set to feature include the likes of Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B Vance, Matt Smith and Byung-hun Lee.
Paramount - the movie studio behind the films - recently announced plans to release two sequels in the franchise for 2017 and 2018, which will be produced back to back.
Meanwhile, 'Terminator: Genisys' is set to hit cinema screens on both sides of the Atlantic in the summer of 2015.

Matthew McConaughey says Chewbacca is his favourite sci-fi character

Matthew McConaughey has revealed Chewbacca is his all-time favourite sci-fi character.
The 44-year-old actor stars in Christopher Nolan's new sci-fi film 'Interstellar' - which also features the likes of Sir Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway - and speaking in London yesterday (29.10.14), McConaughey named the character from the 'Star Wars' franchise as his top pick.
The rest of the star-studded cast also named their favourite sci-fi characters, with the 'Star Wars' franchise playing a prominent role.
Chastain named Princess Leia among her top picks, while Hathaway cited R2-D2 as her favourite.
Similarly, Mackenzie Foy, 13, said she couldn't choose between 'Star Wars' character Darth Vader and Spock of 'Star Trek'.
By contrast, Caine, 81, cited Sandra Bullock's character in 'Gravity', Dr. Ryan Stone, as top of his list.
'Interstellar' is the sixth movie Caine has made with Nolan and speaking during 'A Night Out With... Sir Michael Caine' at the Royal Albert Hall in London earlier this month, he described the filmmaker as his "lucky charm".
He said: "Me and Christopher have now done six movies. He always says I'm his lucky charm and I'm always saying he's my lucky charm. It's been an incredible ride."

Michael Bay takes on 13 hours

Michael Bay is in negotiations to direct '13 Hours'.
The filmmaker is wanted to bring the story of an attack on an American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in September 2012 to life on the big screen, according to reports.
The script has been penned by Chuck Hogan using Mitchell Zuckoff's book '13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi' as the basis.
Zuckoff wrote the book with several security team members who were involved in the attack by Islamic militants, which resulted in the murders of US Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and US Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith. A second assault took place at a different compound approximately one mile away resulting in the deaths of two CIA contractors, Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty.
The film will focus on six members of a security team who fought to defend the compound and Ambassador Stevens and Smith.
If Bay - whose previous films include 'Pearl Habour' and the 'Transformers' series - signs on for the project, shooting is due to start
next year.
The 49-year-old director-and-producer recently admitted he wanted to move away from the big budget blockbusters he is famous for, saying: "There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."

Christopher Nolan reveals his career inspiration

Christopher Nolan was inspired to make films after watching '2001: A Space Odyssey' at the age of seven.
The filmmaker, who's become among the most influential people on the Hollywood scene over the last decade, revealed that his passion for cinema can be traced to his childhood, when he would watch the latest blockbusters in London.
Nolan - whose new sci-fi film 'Interstellar' features Anne Hathaway, Sir Michael Caine and Matthew Matthew McConaughey - remarked: "For me, the great thing about movies has always been the large screen, large audience experience. That's what you always hope for. One of my earliest movie-going memories was going to Leicester Square in London to see '2001' when I was seven years old and I've never forgotten the scale of that experience."
Speaking in promotion of his latest film, the 44-year-old director insisted he makes films on the scale of 'Interstellar' because it's what he loves, rather than because it's what the film studios demand.
He added: "I first saw an IMAX film when I was 15 and immediately wanted to make features at that point. So really, for me, working on this scale is just a long-held dream."

Michael Caine appears in Christopher Nolan films ‘without reading the script’

Sir Michael Caine agrees to appear in Christopher Nolan films without reading the script.
The Oscar-winning actor has appeared in six films made by Nolan - the latest of which is new sci-fi thriller 'Interstellar' - and Sir Michael says he's so confident in the hit-making abilities of his long-time collaborator, he accepts roles without even knowing the plot.
Speaking at the London press conference for their new film earlier today (29.10.14), Sir Michael revealed: "You spend your life as an actor saying, 'Is it going to be a hit, or is it going to be a miss?' And sometimes it's a hit and sometimes it's a miss.
"I've done six pictures with Christopher Nolan and every one of them has been a hit. So, whenever he says, 'Do you want to do a movie?' I say, 'Yes'. He says, 'Do you want to read the script?' I say, 'No'."
The acclaimed pair began working together in 2005 with 'Batman Begins' and the 81-year-old icon says that with Nolan, "nothing is what it seems".
He continued: "I remember the first time he came to me with a script. He came to my house in the country and told me he's got a script for a movie. I said, 'What is it?' He said, 'Batman'. And I thought to myself that I'm too old to play Batman.
"So I asked what he wanted me to play? And he said, 'I want you to play the butler'. And I thought to myself about what sort of dialogue I'd have. Do I say, 'Hello sir, would you like a beverage?' He said, 'No Michael, read the script'. And, of course, I read the script and it was the foster father of Batman. Nothing is what it seems with Christopher."
