Ghostbusters cast announced

Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon will take the lead roles in the 'Ghostbusters' reboot.
Director and writer Paul Feig took to Twitter yesterday (27.01.15) and appeared to confirm reports that the 'Tammy' actress, 'Bridesmaids' beauty and the two 'Saturday Night Live' stars will appear in the long-awaited spooky tale by posting a picture of the foursome, though there was no caption accompanying the image.
He also confirmed the Blockbuster will be released next summer, writing: "In other news, #Ghostbusters will be hitting theaters July 22, 2016. Save the date! (sic)"
The movie has undergone a number of changes since it was first proposed.
Original director Ivan Reitman was due to take the helm, and Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson had all agreed to return to the roles they first played in 1984, but Bill Murray remained uncommitted.
Reitman then pulled out following Ramis' death last year, with Feig then approached to direct and reconceived the project as a reboot with an all-female cast.
The movie - which has been penned by Aykroyd and Katie Dippold - is expected to have a comic twist, while the 52-year-old filmmaker recently revealed he is aiming for the film to be scarier than its predecessors.
He said: "I want ours to be scarier than the original, to be quite honest. Katie Dippold and I are so focused on wanting to do scary comedy. We don't want to hold back."
Emma Stone, Rebel Wilson and Jennifer Lawrence were previously linked with the movie.

Jane Fonda accuses Hollywood of a gender bias

Jane Fonda thinks Hollywood studios have gender-biased policies.
The Oscar-winning actress believes there is an inequality within the movie industry that is unlikely to be addressed by the men who currently run it.
The 77-year-old star said: "The studios are run by men and they have the bottom line to meet and they give jobs to people like them.
"It's a matter of gender, not that we don't have the experience."
Fonda suggested shaming the movie studios guilty of a gender bias as a means of improving the situation for women.
She said: "We have to shame the studios for being so gender-biased. We have to prove we can be commercial.
"We have to fight real hard to get women in positions of power and remember there are no set rules. Kathryn Bigelow made a guys' film [The Hurt Locker], while her ex-husband James Cameron made a feminist film in Avatar."
Fonda also revealed she enjoyed appearing as a sexually liberated space traveller in the cult movie 'Barbarella', which was released in 1968.
She joked: "I like being someone who caused a generation of men to have their first erection."

David Oyelowo and Ava DuVernay to make Hurricane Katrina film

David Oyelowo and Ava DuVernay are to reunite for a film set during Hurricane Katrina.
The movie will mark the third time Oyelowo and the director have worked together, having previously collaborated on 'Middle of Nowhere' - which won DuVernay the Best Director prize at the Sundance Festival in 2012 - and more recently, 'Selma'.
DuVernay will write, produce and direct the film, which has been described as a "sweeping love story and complex murder mystery".
DuVernay said: "The story we're interested in will explore the complexities of intimate relationships within times of chaos, while also examining the chaos itself."
Executive Producer Jonathan King added: "Hurricane Katrina is one of the most important social and environmental stories of our time.
"Ava DuVernay has shown herself to be highly skilled at bringing intimacy and contemporary urgency to epic events. We have been looking for the right way to get back in business with Ava, and with David Oyelowo, and are proud to re-team with them on her original idea, which we believe will be a powerful film."
Oyelowo and DuVernay's latest film, 'Selma', was recently nominated for Best Picture and Best Original Song at the 87th Academy Awards.

Adam Sandler’s Ridiculous 6 to feature stellar cast

Taylor Lautner, Dan Aykroyd, Terry Crews and Nick Nolte will all feature in Adam Sandler's 'Ridiculous 6'.
The comedian's Happy Madison production company recently signed a multi-film agreement with Netflix and he's recruited a stellar cast to appear in the first movie, which also includes Whitney Cummings, Luke Wilson, Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo and Nick Swardson.
'Ridiculous 6' - a parody of Western film 'The Magnificent Seven' - sees Sandler cast in the role of an orphan who has grown up on a Native American reservation, with Rob Schneider starring alongside Lautner, Wilson and Crews as one of his half-brothers.
The film will also include cameo appearances from Blake Shelton as Old West sheriff Wyatt Earp and Vanilla Ice as Mark Twain, according to TheWrap.
'Ridiculous 6' will be the first of four films that will only be available to view via Netflix and Drew Barrymore - who starred alongside Sandler in 'The Wedding Singer' in 1998, '50 First Dates' in 2004 and 'Blended' in 2014 - has already said she hopes to work with him again.
She explained: "When we did '50 First Dates', I was so confused about love but he was about to marry Jackie [Sandler]. I was like, how do you make a relationship work and stay?
"When we did 'The Wedding Singer', we were such young kids with barely a care in the world, there was that joy.
"So it will be interesting to see what our next film together will be. Parenting teenagers next, I think."

Emma Watson to star in live-action Beauty and the Beast

Emma Watson will star in 'Beauty and the Beast'.
The 24-year-old actress will take on the lead role of Belle in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Disney classic which is set to start production this year.
The brunette beauty confessed she couldn't be more excited to play the iconic princess in the Bill Condon-directed picture when she broke the news to her fans on her Facebook page yesterday (26.01.15) and added she was soon to start singing lessons in preparation for the musical role.
Emma said: "I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'.
"My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma xx"
While further details of who will join the 'Harry Potter' actress in the cast are yet to be released, the movie will be produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films.

Ewan McGregor waiting for Star Wars call

Ewan McGregor is "still waiting" to be asked to return to the 'Star Wars' franchise.
The 43-year-old actor portrayed the young Obi-Wan Kenobi in prequel trilogy 'Episodes I to III' - which were released between 1999 and 2005 - but he has not been asked to be a part of 'Episode VII: The Force Awakens' and doesn't even know whether it would be a possibility.
He admitted: "I'm still waiting for the call! Seriously... But literally, I have had nothing. Nothing.
"And I don't even know how it could work, because I don't know what those stories are.
"I never discussed them with George [Lucas] when we made ours, so I have no idea what the three storylines are."
And Ewan appeared to further talk himself out of a job when he admitted his return would affect continuity because Sir Alec Guinness played Kenobi in the original trilogy.
He added to MTV News: "I suppose, after my last one, after 'Episode III', I become Alec Guinness, and then Alec Guinness is cut down by Lord Vader, and goes into [The Force].
"But then, if he came back from there wouldn't he be Alec Guinness? Why would he suddenly be me?
"I'm talking myself out of a job here, which is a silly idea."

Ryan Reynolds says Deadpool will be the ‘movie we want to make’

Ryan Reynolds says 'Deadpool' will be the "movie we want to make".
The 38-year-old star is due to appear in the 'X-Men' movie spin-off and has revealed that after the film suffered more than its fair share of hiccups, it is now progressing nicely.
He said: "It's been a long time, but it's happened in the right way and that's all that matters.
"We don't have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that's great, actually. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that's why we get to make the movie we want to make."
Reynolds, who starred in the 'Green Lantern' movie in 2011, insists he isn't feeling any more pressure to make 'Deadpool' a success.
He told MTV: "You gotta have faith in the people you're working with, and have faith in the prep, and that's all I'm doing. On this one, the prep's been 11 years. You'd like to think you're putting your best foot forward, but we'll see."
The movie was finally given the greenlight after test footage featuring Reynolds' take on the character leaked online.
However, he's denied leaking the video in order to accelerate the process.
He joked: "No, no, no I didn't leak it. But I would have. Looking back now, in a heartbeat. I should go home and scan the old hard drive and see what I've got in there."

Nick Park likens Shaun the Sheep to a Rolls-Royce

Nick Park thinks Shaun the Sheep is "like a Rolls-Royce".
The comedy character - the subject of a new feature film - first appeared on screen in the 1995 film 'A Close Shave' and creator Nick Park says he's amazed to see how far Shaun has come, having already starred in a popular TV series.
Speaking at the European premiere of the film in central London, he told BANG Showbiz: "I used to dream as a kid when I drew characters about people out there knowing the characters, their names ... so it's beyond a dream for me, really. 'Wallace and Gromit' was enough, and that one of their little side characters now has his own feature film, it's incredible. It's all thanks to the crew and the guys who directed and wrote it.
"The nice thing is, we used to think all this CGI is amazing. It's fantastic and we thought, 'How can we compete with it?' It's been a bit like we're the stone age, fighting back with spears and clubs against nuclear powers. [But] I guess it stands out a bit, like a Rolls-Royce."
Nick also said using clay models to create a film gives it a "charm" that some animated movies lack.
He reflected: "I think the clay models and everything brings a certain charm and appeal, so [film-makers] need to be confident in that, really."
