Richard Linklater to direct Jennifer Lawrence in The Rosie Project?

Richard Linklater is set to direct Jennifer Lawrence in 'The Rosie Project'.
According to Deadline.com, the 54-year-old 'Boyhood' director is in talks to work with the 24-year-old actress on Sony Pictures' adaptation of Graeme Simison novel, following Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's decision to drop out of the film to direct the Han Solo 'Star Wars' spin-off movie instead.
Produced by Matt Tolmach and Michael Costigan, 'The Rosie Project' will focus on a genetics professor with limited social skills who thinks he has conjured a scientific survey to find a perfect mate, but, instead, finds Rosie, a mismatched woman who becomes irresistible to him
While Richard hasn't been confirmed for the film, he has just wrapped a 'Dazed And Confused'-style ensemble film about college kids trying to make the baseball team, and, while he has considered a 'Boyhood' sequel, the film's leading man Ethan Hawke previously ruled it out.
The Oscar-winning director admitted back in February to a Sundance audience that "the 20s are pretty formative", sparking speculation a follow-up film could potentially be in the pipeline.
Ethan, however, said: "I feel that 'Boyhood' was so unique and the reason why it works is because it actually does have a beginning, middle and end."

Hugh Jackman asks fans for ideas for Wolverine 3

Hugh Jackman has asked fans what they want to see happen in his final outing as Wolverine.
The 46-year-old actor is portraying the superhero, known as Logan, in 'Wolverine 3' and after numerous outings as the claw-wielding mutant in his own standalone films and the 'X-Men' franchise he is walking away from the character.
Jackman has now taken to Twitter to ask his followers for suggestions as to what should happen to Logan.
Along with an image of himself in character accompanied with the hashtag "#onelasttime", he tweeted: "My last time putting on the claws. What do you want to see happen? 50 words or less. I'll read as many as I can. (sic)"
Jackman has previously revealed the film will feature a much older Logan but would only tease "read into that what you will".
'Wolverine 3' is set for release in March 2017 and the Hollywood hunk is definitely ready to retire his adamantium claws.
He said: "It felt like it was the right time to do it. And let's be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I'm so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it
"I kind of have in my head what we're going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out."

Rachel McAdams for Marvel’s Doctor Strange?

Rachel McAdams hasn't ruled out starring in Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'.
The 'Southpaw' actress has a tight schedule, but hinted "it's still super-early days" with regards to playing the female lead in the film, which she would star alongside British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, if she agreed to take on the part.
She told the LA Times: "it's still super-early days, and I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all."
Marvel have had many top Hollywood actresses make their debut in the comic book world, including Natalie Portman in 'Thor' and Scarlett Johannson who plays Black Widow in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.
However, the blonde beauty doesn't believe in following suit when it comes to picking the films for her because she doesn't think it's "everything".
She added: "I try to shut out ideas about why you should do things. Trying to do good architecture and really designing a career? There's some attention to be paid to that, but I don't think it's everything."
The cast of 'Doctor Strange' includes the 'Sherlock' actor and 'Trainwreck's' Tilda Swinton and will begin filming in November.

Sir Patrick Stewart sparks X-Men rumours

Sir Patrick Stewart has sparked rumours he will star in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'.
The new direction for the franchise was not meant to include any of 20th Century Fox's original cast but the actor was spotted on set in an Instagram photo, posted online by 49-year-old producer Bryan Singer.
Alongside the image, he wrote: "Trying to look intensely thoughtful, @sirpatstew and #jasonreitman visiting #xmen#apocalypse #xmenapocalypse set and reminiscing about our own #daysoffuturepast. Looking forward to "jasonreitmanlivereading tonight of #biglebowski with#michaelfassbender as "The Dude!" (sic)."
The 75-year-old actor has played Professor X, previously known as Professor Charles Xavier, in five films in the series including 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' in 2014, but had not been cast in the latest movie, which stars James McAvoy as Professor X.
However, some fans have been quick to point out Patrick was in Montreal, where shooting has been taking place, because he was hosting a gala at the Just for Laughs comedy festival, although he may have filmed a cameo while in town.
In the Instagram post, Bryan also revealed Michael Fassbender, who is playing Magneto in the movie, will be taking a break from filming to play The Dude in Jason Reitman's live reading of 'The Big Lebowski'.
Other stars who have been cast in the movie - which will open in May 2016 - include Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn, Rose Byrne, Hugh Jackman and Nicholas Hoult.

Rachel McAdams confirms Doctor Strange talks are ongoing

Rachel McAdams has confirmed she is in talks to star in 'Doctor Strange'.
The 36-year-old actress was reported to be the front runner to play the female lead in the Marvel movie opposite Benedict Cumberbatch, who will portray the titular superhero.
Now McAdams has confirmed negotiations are ongoing about her joining the blockbuster and she's interested in the role.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, she said: "It's still super-early days, and I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all."
McAdams isn't concerned about the film's outlandish plot because she's not a "comic book snob".
Other stars rumoured to be set for roles in the movie include Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tilda Swinton, who is due to play The Ancient One.
The film centres around young neurosurgeon Stephen Vincent Strange - played by 38-year-old Cumberbatch - who becomes the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against mystical and magical threats who is trained by The Ancient One.
In the original comic book series The Ancient One character is male and of Himalayan descent.
'Doctor Strange' will be released in summer 2016.

Jake Gyllenhaal respects boxing after making Southpaw

Jake Gyllenhaal "fell in love with boxing" on the set of 'Southpaw'.
The 34-year-old actor trained as a pugilist for months to play Billy Hope in the new movie because he didn't use a stunt double for his fight scenes.
Since shooting wrapped on the drama, Jake has continued to step into the ring to box and has the utmost respect for the sport and fighters who compete all over the world.
He said: "I'll go to the boxing gym and I'll get bummed when I learn something new. I think, 'Awe, I could have put that in the movie!' I fell in love with boxing."
Jake admits he was nervous about getting in the ring for the first time because he didn't want to be "the actor who's just trying to protect himself."
He explained to Us Weekly magazine: "When [director] Antoine (Fuqua) told me he was going to shoot it like real HBO/Showtime fights - that we weren't going to be pulling any punches, so to speak, I thought, 'Well, there's no real way to cheat here.' That's one of the great things about my job, I got to learn a new skill that I never would have and learn about a world I never would have.
"I didn't have a stunt double. By the time we started shooting, I had sparred enough - I mean, it was different (in practice) when I was wearing protection. But I remember, as soon as the real guys were there - we had real referees in the ring, real HBO fight cameramen - you don't want to be 'the actor' who's just trying to protect himself. If you get hurt, you get hurt."
Jake also stars in the acclaimed film with Rachel McAdams, 50 Cent, Forest Whitaker and Naomie Harris.

Tom Cruise: Top Gun sequel would be ‘fun’

Tom Cruise thinks it would be "fun" to star in a 'Top Gun' sequel.
The 53-year-old actor - who played US Navy pilot Maverick in the 1986 blockbuster - has confessed he would definitely consider reprising the role in a follow-up film.
Speaking at the London premiere of his latest movie, 'Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation', he admitted: "It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets."
However, Cruise - who was in his 20s when the first film hit cinemas - insists he would only sign up for the project if the team agreed to keep it as real as possible.
The 'Edge of Tomorrow' star added: "It would have to be practical.
"I don't want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one."
Cruise's comments come after film producer and Skydance media company chief executive David Ellison last month revealed a 'Top Gun 2' screenplay was in the works.
He said: "Justin Marks is writing the screenplay right now. He has a phenomenal take to really update that world for what fighter pilots in the Navy has turned into today. There is an amazing role for Maverick in the movie and there is no 'Top Gun' without Maverick, and it is going to be Maverick playing Maverick. It is I don't think what people are going to expect, and we are very, very hopeful that we get to make the movie very soon. But like all things, it all comes down to the script."
Speaking about whether or not Cruise would be involved, Ellison added: "I think this is a movie that should be in 3D and in Imax, and again something that you can shoot practically. As everyone knows with Tom, he is 100% going to want to be in those airplanes, shooting it practically."

Jurassic World sequel may have ‘hybrid dinosaurs’

Chris Pratt is confirmed to be returning for 'Jurassic World 2' and the blockbuster is going to take the dinosaur action out of the theme parks.
Director Colin Treverrow has confirmed the release date for the sequel will be June 2018 and teased that the movie will include more hybrid dinosaurs, like the current film's Indominus Rex, let loose in the world with Pratt's character, Velociraptor expert Owen Grady, leading the fight to stop them.
Treverrow said: "I feel like the idea that this isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment.
"Dr. Wu says in the film, when he's warning Dr. Mesrani, 'We're not always going to be the only ones who can make a dinosaur.' I think that's an interesting idea that even if we don't explore fully in this film, there is room for this universe to expand." The movie has become one of Universal's biggest grossing of all time banking over $1.5 billion at the box office so far and Treverrow wants to expand the military motif of 'Jurassic World', which sees character Vic Hoskins want to weaponise the dinosaurs for military combat.
He told Wired: "When you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponise it and later on we found it could be used for energy.
"I shouldn't use the word universe, because people will think we're making a 'Jurassic World' universe. We're not."
