Salma Hayek is having trouble marketing her new movie.
The 48-year-old actress had adapted Kahlil Gibran's 'The Prophet' - a book of 26 prose poetry essays dealing with subjects including love, marriage, children, passion, pain and religion - for the big screen but admitted that figuring out how to sell it to audiences is an issue because of the subject matter.
Salma told the New York Daily News: "I'm having a really hard time marketing the film because there is no system to market uplifting spiritual films."
However, the actress believes it is important that movies like this are made and revealed how her seven-year-old daughter Valentina - whose father is French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault - reacted to seeing it.
She explained: "This is exactly the kind of thing we need to expose children to, a film that talks about finding your own voice, a film that talks about not jumping into judgment, a film that talks about tolerance.
"When Valentina saw the film she wrote the most beautiful poem about how we are spirits, nothing can incarcerate us and we are eternal and we don't die. "We cried. Even the nanny was crying."

Tom Cruise wants to make an 'Edge of Tomorrow' sequel.
The 53-year-old actor - who played Major William Cage in the action-adventure film - has revealed he's already pitched an idea for a follow-up to the writer and director.
He said: "I pitched it to [Christopher] McQuarrie and Doug [Liman]. We were there one night and I was like, 'I've got an idea for it'."
The 'Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation' star admitted, however, that the sequel will only go ahead if his co-star Emily Blunt agrees to return as Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski.
He told MTV News: "It could be so much fun. [We] gotta get Emily. I was like, 'Emily, please', [and] she was like, 'Give me another year, please'."
Cruise's comments come after he confirmed yet another 'Mission: Impossible' sequel is in the works.
He said: "We're starting to work on it now. We'll probably start shooting it next summer."
The Hollywood star also confessed recently that he would love to reprise his role as Maverick in a 'Top Gun' follow-up.
He revealed: "It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets.
"It would have to be practical. I don't want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one."

'Downton Abbey' could be turned into a film.
The ITV period drama's producer, Gareth Neame hasn't ruled out the possibility of making the show into a feature film and thinks it would be a "wonderful thing".
However, while he confirmed making a film is a prospect, he admitted they "don't have a script or plan as of yet".
Speaking at the final show's press conference in Beverly Hills on Saturday (01.08.15), he said: "We might - it's something we've talked about. I think a 'Downton' movie would be a wonderful thing. But we don't have a script or a plan as of yet."
The production for the last series - made popular by leading character Dowager Countess of Grantham [Dame Maggie Smith] - has now finished and for some of the cast members, including actress Miss Dockery - who plays Lady Mary Crawley - she admitted Laura Carmichael [Lady Edith] and herself "didn't want to go home".
She said: "Laura [Carmichael] , who plays [Lady Edith] and I wandered around for the last time. Suddenly we didn't want to go home. It was really funny."
The last episode is to be aired as a Christmas Day special on ITV1.

Alicia Vikander felt "terrified" when Guy Ritchie asked her to "improvise".
The 26-year-old Swedish actress - who plays a leading role in Guy Ritchie's film 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E' - started to have more "fun" with her role once she became comfortable performing in English rather than her "native language".
Talking about working with the British filmmaker - who was once married to Madonna - she said: "It was a nice, collaborative vibe and [Ritchie] made me improvise - which, when it's not in my native language, got me even more terrified! But then you start to trust each other and to have fun."
The movie is Alicia's first big comedy break and she said it was "a revelation" that people found her funny.
She added: "It was a revelation when somebody actually laughed at something I did."
She also thinks it's "quite rare" an opportunity for strong female characters to be in such big franchises, like 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E'.
She told The Sunday Telegraph's Stella magazine: "Seeing one of the big-franchise movies have such strong female characters is quite rare. Here they have their own agendas, and it was fun playing a character where you're not sure what side she is really on."
'The Man From U.N.C.L.E' is out on August 14.

Sylvester Stallone advised Michael B. Jordan to take "ice baths" on the 'Creed' set.
The 28-year-old actor will play boxer Adonis Johnson opposite the 69-year-old movie icon in the 'Rocky' sequel, due later this year, and his co-star insisted the chilly dips were essential to recover from demanding fighting scenes.
However, speaking about the freezing baths Jordan admitted: "They're the devil."
Nevertheless, the rising star - who also features as the Human Torch in Fox's 'Fantastic Four' - gushed Sylvester was a huge help while working on the movie because he was open to letting director Ryan Coogler change certain details.
He gushed: "Working with Sly was awesome.
"He let me and Ryan kind of do our thing with these characters he developed and created 40 years ago."
And Michael - who has previously starred in science fiction thriller 'Chronicle' and romantic comedy 'That Awkward Moment' - confessed the role was like nothing he had ever done before because of the gruelling regime he had to abide by to ensure he was in shape.
Speaking at a Sports Matter Summer Panel, New York Post newspaper's Page Six Column reports him as saying: "I ate six times a day and worked out two to three times a day - a lot of boxing."

Nat Wolff had never heard of Cara Delevingne before they met on the set of 'Paper Towns'
The 20-year-old actor was first introduced to the 22-year-old star while working on the film - in which they both have leading roles - but Nat confessed their first day was a bit awkward because he had no idea who the British supermodel was.
Nat said: "It's hilarious because when she walked in on the first day and, I think I was the only person who didn't know who she was. I really had never heard of her!"
And it wasn't until he saw the Burberry model's face on a giant advertisement near his New York home that he realised just how famous she was.
He quipped: "After a little while, I was like, 'Oh wait, you're on a billboard with Kate Moss outside my apartment in New York. I walk my dog past your face every day!' After that, it was super chilled. She just took her shoes off and started being Margo (Cara's character)."
Thankfully, Cara didn't take the snub to heart and Nat - who plays Margo's admirer Quentin Jacobsen in the blockbuster - immediately discovered the fun-loving actress' wild side.
He told We Love Pop magazine: "I remember this one time, we were shooting a scene outside and it was a really emotional one where she was staring into my eyes. Suddenly she just yelled, 'Is that a water slide?!' She ran off and got us all tickets to this nearby water park, it shows you exactly how spontaneous she is. She's a total goof ball."

Diane Kruger feels French.
The German actress - who is in a relationship with Canadian actor Joshua Jackson - moved to Paris to pursue a modelling career in her early 20s and now divides her time between the European city and New York but feels most "at home" in France.
She said: "I've always loved travelling and experiencing different cultures.
"I feel probably more French than German or American, even though I've been living half the time in the US over the past 18 years or so.
"I've felt at home in Paris since I was a teenager, starting out as a model."
The 'Disorder' actress and her partner are also planning to spend part of their time in Italy.
She added: "Joshua and I have been talking about buying a house in Tuscany. That's a big dream and one day we're going to make it happen."
Though they are very happy together, the 39-year-old star - who was previously married to Guillaume Canet - and the former 'Dawson's Creek' star have no plans to tie the knot.
She told HELLO! magazine: "I've already been married and I don't need to do that again.
"Being married doesn't change how you feel about another person.
"If you want to be with someone, then you're going to respect that bond whether you've signed a document or not."

Steve Guttenberg found it easy to imagine he was fighting gigantic lava-spewing spiders in his latest movie 'Lavalantula'.
The 56-year-old actor stars as "washed up 90s action hero actor" Colton West in the monster movie, in which he has to battle the aggressive arachnids that have overrun Los Angeles.
All of his scenes with the burning bugs were on green screen as they were added with CGI later on, but Guttenberg has no problem with the shooting technique as he can adapt to any scenario.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I find green screen to be easy, I've worked with it many times. It's acting, and acting is the same I believe in all genres. Whether it's the stage, theatre, film or television, in a green screen or on set with animals, or with people, or puppets, you're acting, you're creating real emotions with imaginary circumstances so it's really all the same.
"When you're working on a green screen and there's nothing there your imagination just takes on a different shape but it's the same imagination. You have the luxury of imagining whatever you want to be there, it's not as desperate a process as people think it is, it's actually quite generous for an actor."
Guttenberg was reunited with his 'Police Academy' co-stars Leslie Easterbrook, Marion Ramsey and Michael Winslow for the Syfy film and all of them are expected to be returning for the newly announced sequel '2 Lava 2 Lantula' - a spoof of the '2 Fast 2 Furious' title - due out in 2016.
Director Mike Mendez is expected to return for the second adventure, and Guttenberg has nothing but praise for the work the filmmaker did on the first movie.
The 'Three Men and a Baby's star said: "Mike Mendez is a terrific director, just terrific and he did a great job. He is so smart and is one of the best directors around. We're going to gaining a lot from him."
'Lavalantula' premieres in the UK on Saturday (01.08.15) at 9pm on Syfy.
