Britney Spears: I want to be a movie star

Britney Spears "would love to be a movie star".
The 33-year-old pop singer has enjoyed incredible success as a musician, becoming one of the best-selling artists of all time, but has admitted she'd also love to establish herself as a Hollywood success.
Britney said: "I could dream. I would love to be a movie star."
The singer's potential transition into the movie business may be made easier after she was recently cast in one of her favourite TV shows, 'Jane the Virgin' - and Britney has confessed she can't wait to start on the set.
She told E! News: "I think the writing is so simple and so endearing and it's funny!
"I started watching the show before it got really big and I was telling everyone about it. They were all like, 'What are you talking about?' and then it got really big."
Britney first revealed news of her casting on Twitter, saying she was fulfilling a dream by appearing on one of her most-loved TV shows.
Britney tagged two of its stars, Gina Rodriguez and Jaime Camil, and wrote: "See u at the Marbella Hotel soon, @hereisgina @jaimecamil! Guest starring on one of my favorite shows EVER @CWJaneTheVirgin #DreamComeTrue (sic)."

Orlando Bloom returning to Pirates of the Caribbean

Orlando Bloom will appear in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'.
The 38-year-old actor will reprise his role as 'Bootstrap' Bill Turner in the fifth installment of the film franchise, having bowed out of the series for 2011's 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides'.
The exciting news was announced by Disney bosses at its D23 Expo over the weekend, with Johnny Depp also returning to star as Captain Jack Sparrow for the film.
The news of Orlando's return to the film - which will hit cinemas on July 7 2017 having recently wrapped filming in Australia - was kept under wraps, even though he confessed he was "in discussions" to return last year.
He said: "There have certainly been some discussions about it and I'm open to it. That whole experience working with Johnny and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me. I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity was because Johnny was involved."
Geoffrey Rush, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, Javier Bardem and Kevin McNally are also set to star in the film, although it seems unlikely Orlando's character's love interest Elizabeth Swann, played by Keira Knightley, will return.
Asked about coming back to the franchise back in November, she said: "No, I don't think so.
"It was an amazing point in my life, but it was a good five-year chunk. It was incredible, but I can't really imagine going back to it."

Shakira joins Zootropolis cast

Shakira has joined Disney's 'Zootropolis'.
The 38-year-old 'She Wolf' singer has revealed she will voice a gazelle in the upcoming Disney movie - which is set to be released in March 2016 - and will also sing a song titled 'Try Everything' in the much-anticipated film.
Announcing the news to her 34 million followers on Twitter, she wrote: "I am thrilled to announce that I will be playing Gazelle in @DisneyAnimation's #Zootopia
"I'll be singing a brand new song for the movie called "Try Everything"! Shak"
The movie - which will be known as 'Zootopia' outside of the UK - will reimagine a world in which humans have never existed, with other stars confirmed for the animated film including Jason Bateman who will play a friendly fox and 'Once Upon A Time' actress Ginnifer Goodwin who will take the role of Lieutenant Judy Hopps.
The film is a collaboration between 'Tangled' director Byron Howard, 'Wreck-It Ralph' and 'The Simpsons' director Rich Moore and 'All of Us' scribe Jared Bush, with 'Toy Story' creator John Lasseter on board as the executive producer.
Meanwhile, Disney are already planning other forthcoming animations and announced a brand new movie named 'Gigantic', based on the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, at their D23 conference over the weekend.

Colin Trevorrow to direct Star Wars: Episode IX

Colin Trevorrow doesn't consider directing 'Star Wars: Episode IX' to be "a job or an assignment".
The 38-year-old filmmaker - who recently helmed the money-spinning 'Jurassic World' - has been tasked with directing the third movie in the latest 'Star Wars' trilogy, which will begin with the release of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', and is eagerly looking forward to the responsibility.
Colin said: "It is a seat at a campfire, surrounded by an extraordinary group of storytellers, film-makers, artists and craftspeople.
"We've been charged with telling new stories for a younger generation because they deserve what we all had - a mythology to call their own. We will do this by channelling something George Lucas instilled in all of us: boundless creativity, pure invention and hope."
Meanwhile, Lucasfilm's president Kathleen Kennedy hailed Colin's film-making credentials, saying he is "an incredible talent".
She said: "Colin is someone I've been interested in working with ever since I saw 'Safety Not Guaranteed'.
"The power of that film paired with the enormous success of 'Jurassic World' speaks volumes about his abilities both as a storyteller and skilled film-maker.
"We are thrilled to have such an incredible talent as Colin join our family and step into the 'Star Wars' universe."

Pamela Anderson skeptical of Baywatch movie

Pamela Anderson isn't convinced the 'Baywatch' movie will be a success.
The 48-year-old actress rose to worldwide prominence thanks to her starring role on the drama series, but she is skeptical of plans to make a movie reboot of the show with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Zac Efron.
She told TMZ: "No one appreciates the remakes."
Although Pamela enjoyed incredible success during her time on the show, she's unsure if it's suited to the big screen.
Last week, meanwhile, Zac Efron admitted he was "stoked" to have been handed a leading role in the 'Baywatch' movie, admitting he can't wait to appear alongside The Rock.
Zac - who also appears alongside Emily Ratajkowski in new music drama film 'We Are Your Friends' - told BANG Showbiz: "I'm pretty stoked, yeah. I'm very, very excited."
What's more, Zac said he was keen to test himself against The Rock, who's made the transition from professional wrestling in to the film industry.
Asked how he plans to bulk up for the role, Zac explained: "I'm not sure. I'm just going to be swimming. I'm gonna outswim The Rock, man!"

Ava DuVernay cried watching Straight Outta Compton

Ava DuVernay shed a tear watching the NWA biopic 'Straight Outta Compton'.
The 'Selma' director - who's a self-confessed hip-hop fan - has heaped praise on the film's maker F Gary Gray and admitted the new movie about the iconic rap group has brought back some powerful childhood memories.
In a series of tweets, Ava said: "All the stifling of our voices as young black people in that place at that time while a war was going on against us. ‪[F Gary Gray] captured it.
"He captured the plight of the black artist in general, once consumed by systems and structures not made for them. The struggle is real.
"To be a woman who loves hip-hop at times is to be in love with your abuser. Because the music was and is that. And yet the culture is ours."
Ava added that the "fantastic" new movie even caused her to shed a tear.
She tweeted: "Hundreds of black young people cruisin' down Crenshaw. The raw energy. The cars. The brothers and sisters. The majesty of it all. A tear.
"It was maybe a one-minute sequence in the film but it all came rushing back. This film did that for me on multiple levels. It's fantastic."

Cara Delevingne not cast because of modelling career

Cara Delevingne wasn't cast in 'Paper Towns' because of her successful modelling career.
The film's director, John Green, insists the 23-year-old beauty's previous work had nothing to do with her landing the role of Margo.
He said: "She did not get cast because she was a supermodel. In the movie, she looks like a kid. Cara's public persona has a lot in common with Margo. Cara is complicated, multifaceted, smart, talented and she is also very sensitive, which maybe we don't see as much in public."
The 37-year-old filmmaker also suggested Cara's experience of fame helped her to channel her character's emotions.
He told the Observer newspaper: "She is able to go to deep, difficult places when she is acting, and I was very impressed by that. There is a moment where Quentin says, 'I love you Margo', and Margo says, 'Love me? You don't even know me'. In her audition, Cara said that with such depth of feeling, it seemed to me that maybe she was a person who knew what it was like to have people love you and not know you."

Emily Ratajkowski: Acting roles are for ugly girls

Emily Ratajkowski thinks her good looks are stunting her acting ambitions.
The 'Gone Girl' actress and bikini model auditioned for the part of Masha in a new film adaptation of Anton Chekhov's 'The Seagul' and loved the part, but was told she was "too pretty for the role" and has since struggled to find a job that fits her appearance.
She said: "I have some serious criteria for what I'm looking for in a role, which has really f**ked me. The ones that I really want have to be a really interesting script and a story and usually the girl is ugly."
The star thinks the reason film bosses didn't hire her for the lead in the upcoming film of Philip Roth's novel 'American Pastoral' is because she wasn't "weird-looking enough".
Emily, 24, explained: "Again, I think I did a great job in the audition and they were very interested, but again - not weird-looking enough."
And the stunning 24-year-old star - who had her Apple iCloud account hacked and nude photos of her posted online - thinks it's unfortunate that the industry is scared to cast a pretty female in quirky roles.
She told GQ magazine: "When people Google my name they see this bikini sex symbol kind of thing and they're scared to cast me as anything but that.
"So I' m taking a long and, I hope, high road of basically waiting for the parts that I'm most excited about, which can be really annoying."

Henry Cavill feels ‘so cool’ as Superman

Henry Cavill feels "so cool" in his Superman costume.
The 32-year-old actor is set to reprise the superhero role in 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' and feels "honoured" to be a part of such an iconic franchise.
He said: "It really, truly is an honour, not just in getting to do it once, but to be granted the opportunity again, it's magical.
"Stepping in front of the mirror, with the costume on, I cannot describe the feeling. It's so cool."
Henry stars opposite Ben Affleck as Batman in the movie, and is a huge fan of his "extraordinary" co-star.
He said: "I'm big fan of his. I think he's got an extraordinary talent. He's got his own signature and style. He does things his own way and I really respect that.
"He's had his ups and downs and now ups again and I think that helps cultivate a wealth of character in a career and a person."
The 'Man of Steel' actor has to bulk up to play Superman and it causes him an "expensive" problem as it requires a whole new wardrobe for when he isn't working.
He told HELLO! magazine: "It's not so much an unusual problem as an expensive one.
"When I bulk up, I can't fit into any of my clothes, so I have to go out and buy a new wardrobe, essentially. And then they're all hanging off me when I'm smaller."
