Rebel Wilson worked in chip shop for movie role

Rebel Wilson worked in a chip shop to prepare for her new role in 'The Brothers Grimsby'.
The 'Pitch Perfect 2' star - who plays Lindsey in the Sacha Baron Cohen film - got a taste of life in Grimsby, England by drinking in traditional pubs, working as a fish fryer and watching 'Benefits Street', which follows working-class people living off welfare.
She revealed: "For research, I watched the TV show 'Benefits Street', went to some English pubs, did karaoke and even worked in a fish-and-chip shop."
The 35-year-old comedienne was able to "relate" to the working-class characters in the movie as she came from a disadvantaged upbringing herself.
She told Cosmopolitan: "Coming from an underprivileged background myself, I can really relate to the working-class thing [in the film]."
Elsewhere, Rebel admitted she is "unique" and not your stereotypical Hollywood actress.
She added: "Being unique and different was a really good thing.
"When I walked into my agent's office for the first time [in 2009], they looked at me and said, 'Wow, we have nobody on our books like you.'
"And they signed me on my second day here."

Tom Holland looks forward to Spider-Man debut

Tom Holland is looking forward to "hiding behind a mask" as Spider-Man.
The 19-year-old actor was cast as the iconic superhero earlier this year and has revealed he's excited to be playing one of Marvel's most distinctive characters.
He said: "I think one of the most interesting things about Peter Parker for us is that he's the only person in the MCU now that has a secret identity, so we all know who everyone else is.
"I think it's quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask."
Tom also revealed how deep-rooted his love of the character is.
He told SuperheroHype: "I have always been a huge fan of Spider-Man, and growing up, I had countless Spider-Man costumes, only two years ago did I go to a fancy dress party dressed as Spider-Man.
"I had this awesome morph suit where you can put your phone on your chest and spiders would crawl across the costume, it was awesome!
"He's always been a big part of my life and a big part of boys' lives because everybody can relate to him."
Tom will make his debut as Spider-Man in 'Captain America: Civil War', which is set for release next year.

Ron Howard to direct The Girl Before

Ron Howard is to direct thriller 'The Girl Before'.
The 'Rush' helmer will take on the adaptation of J.P. Delaney's thriller novel of the same name about a traumatised woman who falls in love with a house - and the guy who designed it, Deadline reports.
However, all is not as it seems as when the lady finds out another woman died there three years beforehand and she begins to notice similarities between them.
Universal has acquired the rights to the book before it has even been published.
The novel is set to be released next year and some have speculated that J.P. could in fact be a pseudonym for 'The Death Pit' author Tony Strong.
This comes just a week after Ron revealed he turned down the chance to direct 'Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace' because the project was "too daunting".
Speaking about being approached by George Lucas, who ended up helming the motion picture, Howard explained: "He didn't necessarily want to direct them.
"He told me that he had talked to [Robert] Zemeckis, he talked to me, he talked to Steven Spielberg. I was the third one he spoke to. They all said the same thing, 'George, you should just do it. This is your baby.' Nobody wanted to follow that act I don't think at that point. That was an honor, but it would've been just too daunting."

James McAvoy’s ‘mental’ roles

James McAvoy loves playing "mental cases."
The 36-year-old actor, who made his acting debut as a teenager, has admitted he thoroughly enjoys taking on roles that challenge his imagination.
He said: "I really enjoy playing mental cases, people with obsession and delusion. It means that as an actor you are engaging your imagination all the time."
And, although he shot into the limelight at such a young age, the handsome star believes he's always remained "humble."
He explained: "I used to be a bit too humble for my own good. I had to learn self-worth and to have a positive image of myself. Maybe it's a good thing. Perhaps if I hadn't been humble I'd be really fucked up now."
McAvoy is adamant he has his grandparents to thank for his successful career because they taught him what was important in life.
He added to the Observer magazine: "In large part I was raised by my grandparents. They taught me a respect for people, a respect for money. Money is freedom. From them I absorbed the importance of owning your own place and not owing money or having credit card debts."

John Boyega explains Star Wars tears

John Boyega cried when he saw his character was "consistent" throughout 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
The actor was caught on camera in tears when he watched the latest trailer for the upcoming movie, but has now explained that it wasn't seeing the finished product that made him so emotional.
He said: "What made me cry specifically was my involvement.
It's not anything to do with the story; it's just seeing your character's name consistently coming up in a script for a film that is 'Star Wars'!
"Because for me, I would expect to read the first two pages, then your character's name's not coming up as much.
"But it was good to see that Finn was a consistent character through this story and plays a vital and importabt role. And that just made me go, 'Ohoho, yes!' "
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old actor is so confident in director J.J. Abrams' concept for the film that he finds it easy to be tight-lipped when when he's quizzed by fans and journalists on both the storyline and his character.
He told Sci-Fi Now magazine: "The one thing about coming onto a project like this is vision. And I believe in J.J.'s vision. I genuinely believe that the way this guy is going about the decisions that he's making are 100 per cent correct, and because I believe in the vision, if someone asks me, 'Are you a Jedi? Do you control things? Are you Mace Windu's son?' I can easily say 'Just wait until the film comes out!'"

Kate Winslet thought script was ‘impossible’

Kate Winslet initially thought 'Steve Jobs' would be "impossible".
The 40-year-old actress is thankful director Danny Boyle allowed extra rehearsal time when making the biopic - in which she stars opposite Michael Fassbender as the late Apple entrepreneur - because scriptwriter Aaron Sorkin's dialogue was so complex.
She said: "I do remember reading it and going, 'Wow this is really impossible, we're going to have to learn this like a play.' We wouldn't be able to leave anything to chance.
"I knew it would be a unique experience, very different from anything I'd done before.
"The rehearsal process itself was so crucial, to make mistakes and figure out what we didn't want to do.
"By the time we got onto set to film it, we'd done it at least 100 times."
However, director Danny credits Kate - who plays Jobs' friend and right-hand woman Joanna Hoffman - with being the "enabler" who pulled the film together thanks to her knowledge and experience.
He said: "She helped Michael the way Joanna helped Steve. She would constantly solve problems on set.
"She's a bit of a filmmaker on the quiet, she understands all the business."
However, the 'Dressmaker' actress has no desire to step behind the camera and direct.
She told The Lady magazine: "I think I would find it really stressful."

Channing Tatum needs looks

Channing Tatum isn't a "good enough actor" not to rely on his body for roles.
The 'Magic Mike XXL' star wishes he could give up working out for good, but knows he needs to stay in shape as he is often relied on to go shirtless on screen.
He said: "Honestly, I am not that good enough an actor that I can never take my shirt off again in a movie, so yes, I will be working out again.
"Believe me, I'd like to be. And I really have to always keep on top of it."
Channing - who has two-year-old daughter Everly with wife Jenna Dewan Tatum - is grateful he enjoys sport so much as there is a "fat kid inside" him who loves gorging on calorific treats.
He added: "I have a fat kid inside of me. Thank god I liked sports. I like to eat.
"I like beer and pizza and fries and burgers and just losing myself in that. Cheetos. A big bag of Cheetos, oh man... I'm done.
"I was this really skinny little kid but you reach that age where it creeps up really fast."
The 35-year-old hunk found it particularly tough watching the 'Magic Mike XXL' crew gorging on junk food while he was sticking to a strict diet.
He told heat magazine: "What I found the hardest was being on set while the crew were going at craft services.
"Like, those people kill me on set.
"They eat all the stuff in front of you and are staring at you while they're doing it. It was torture.
"I thought bad things about them. The people eating, not the food."

Mark Rylance proud of Steven Spielberg’s praise

Mark Rylance warms "in the glow" of Steven Spielberg's praise.
The 55-year-old actor - who stars in the Spielberg-directed drama-thriller film 'Bridge of Spies' - has previously been called "the greatest actor, anywhere" by the award-winning director, and Mark feels proud to have received such praise.
Asked how he feels about Spielberg's praise, Mark said: "I obviously warm in the glow of it and a large part of me wants to believe it ... but I do think it is important to find out who you are and not what other people want you to be, and not to take anything people say about me - positive or negative - personally, otherwise one is in danger of getting hurt, undone.
"It's like sitting in the glow of a warm fire but the fuel won't last forever - and someone might take your coat."
Meanwhile, Mark also admitted he's eager to play characters that tackle big issues.
He told Radio Times: "I'm drawn towards engagement - I'm an actor but I'm not a bystander; I'm drawn to people's stories. My role is to tell those stories, it isn't to tell people what to do."

Eddie Redmayne: The Danish Girl is profoundly moving

Eddie Redmayne found 'The Danish Girl' script to be "profoundly moving".
The Oscar-winning actor stars as transgender pioneer Lili lbe in the new movie, and said he decided to join the project after reading the emotion-filled storyline.
He said: "I read [the script] and it was profoundly moving, and a story about love and what it takes to be authentic, what it takes to be yourself.
"So I sort of jumped on board, and then I started meeting people from the trans community and people of different generations and hearing their stories."
Eddie said he received a significant amount of help from the transgender community in order to play the part.
He told Entertainment Weekly: "Across the board, every single woman I met said, 'Ask me anything. There is no question, there is no territory that you can't [ask]' in order to educate me as a cisgender person."
This comes shortly after Eddie recently admitted he considered retiring after he won a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything'.
He said: "I had a moment of, 'Oh f**k, I might retire tomorrow. I'm never going to do anything again.'
"The thought that it happened too early came in for a second. But then I thought, 'No, I want this.'"
