Chris Hemsworth becomes a nerd for Ghostbusters

Chris Hemsworth has been revealed to be playing a nerdy assistant in the new 'Ghostbusters' film.
The hunky Australian actor has shed his macho image in favour of a pair of square specs and waistcoat, for the female-driven instalment of the franchise that stars Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones as the paranormal fighting gang.
A new website (Ghostbusters.com) has been launched to whet the appetite of fans and contains a photo of Hemsworth as well as other shots of the cast and film and other exclusive teaser content.
Director Paul Feig - who co-wrote the script with Kate Dippold - teased the trailer will soon be released on the site, writing on Twitter: "The official Ghostbusters site is up and running at Ghostbusters.com First full trailer coming around the end of this month. #ghosts (sic)"
Production on 'Ghostbusters' started last summer and the movie will arrive in July next year.
Chris will be taking on the position previously held by Annie Potts' stern secretary Janine Melnitz, over 30 years after the original film starring Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver took the world by storm.

Bryan Cranston: I purge my characters

Bryan Cranston will always "purge" a character when he has finished with it.
The 59-year-old star has been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his depiction of Dalton Trumbo in the new biopic, and received critical acclaim for his portrayal of a teacher who finds out he has cancer and uses his biochemistry skills to make crystal meth in 'Breaking Bad'.
And Bryan says although it can be a difficult thing to do, he has put the characters to bed and let them "die".
Bryan said: "What I do is purge after each role. So Walter White has left me. I took some time to let that go. To wash him away and respectfully allow him to die. Same with Dalton Trumbo and whoever comes next. That was there is no residue in me. It's a clean slate."
Asked how he sheds a character, the actor quipped: "I just throw up! No, I just let it go. Our lives are cyclical, our human bodies are cyclical, our human bodies are cyclical, the seasons are cyclical. It would be foolish to try to prevent that cycle from happening. 'What's next?' is a common theme for me."
Bryan is now ready for his next project entitled 'Sneaky Pete', which he wrote based on his own childhood experiences.
He told Metro newspaper: "It's the story of a bad man who finds reasons to become good. My family called me Sneaky Pete because when I was a child I was kind of a sneaky guy, one who tried to circumvent responsibility and avoid accountability."

Jessica Chastain to star in Woman Walks Ahead?

Jessica Chastain is in negotiations to star in 'Woman Walks Ahead'.
The 38-year-old actress is being lined up to play Caroline Weldon, an adviser to Sioux chieftain Sitting Bull in the new movie which is based on a real life story, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Weldon left her home in New York in the 19th century to move to the Standing Rock Reservation in Dakota Territory where she helped Sitting Bull and his people keep their land.
Susanna White will direct while Steven Knight has written the script.
The movie will be produced by Ed Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz, Rick Solomon and Erika Olde.
Meanwhile, Jessica gushed about starring in 'The Martian' with Matt Damon because it taps into her interest in space travel.
The flame-haired beauty recalled: "I didn't get a call that said Ridley Scott wants me for the movie. It was more like, 'Do you want to meet with Ridley for the film?' Because, you know, maybe Ridley meets me and goes, 'Oh, she's terrible, let's not put her in the movie.'
"But I was really excited by it because also I'd just done 'Interstellar' and I'd become really interested in space exploration.
"I knew that to play an astronaut it would kind of open the doors at NASA and my inner-geek would fly! And I would learn so much, so I was very excited."

Bryan Cranston stunned by Oscar nomination

Bryan Cranston wants to win the Best Actor Oscar.
The 59-year-old star has been nominated in the category for the first time ever for his depiction of Dalton Trumbo in the biopic about the prolific Hollywood screenwriter - who spent 11 months in prison in 1950s due to his membership of the Communist Party of the USA and was responsible for writing 'Spartacus'.
Cranston admits it felt like a childhood dream had come true when he discovered he was in the running for the prestigious prize against Leonardo DiCaprio, Eddie Redmayne, Michael Fassbender and Matt Damon.
Cranston shared: "I'm very proud of all my great fortune, but the Oscars is the first award that became known to me growing up. Hearing those words, 'An Academy Award nominee,' was like, 'Wow!' "
And the actor would not only be fulfilling his dreams but also those of his parents, whose footsteps he followed in.
He added: "It seemed normal to become an actor because my father was an actor, my mother was an actor. It's simply the family business."
Discussing how he works, Cranston - who achieved international fame when he played the role of teacher-turned-drug dealer Walter White in 'Breaking Bad' - keeps his home life "sane" so that he can play crazy character.
Cranston - who is married to Robin Dearden with whom he has 22-year-old daughter Taylor - told the Metro newspaper: "I always wanted my home life to be as sane as possible, so that I can go insane in my professional life. In order to survive this business, which is highly competitive and aggressive, you need to create a normal life around you. It's true for most performers that they seek something solid, foundationally."

Fast and Furious will be a 10-film franchise

Vin Diesel has confirmed the 'Fast and Furious' franchise will run for 10 films.
The blockbuster racing series has so far been comprised on seven movies since its inception in 2001, and the 47-year-old star of the films has announced that the remaining sequels will be released in April 2017, 2019 and 2021 respectively.

If all goes to plan, by Summer 2021 the total running time for the franchise will stretch to more than 15 hours of car chases.
And whilst the road ahead is now mapped for the series - with the next film being titled 'Fast 8' - the consecutive movies are as-yet-unnamed.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson - who plays Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs - will star in the eighth movie and it has been confirmed by NBC Universal vice-chairman Ron Meyer that Paul Walker, who tragically died in an unrelated car accident halfway through filming of 'Fast and Furious 7', will also feature in the 2017 release in "some form or another".
In 'Fast and Furious 7' Paul's image was shot using CGI and his younger brother, Cody Walker, 27, played the body double of his character Brian O'Conner.
Diesel reprises his lead role as former street racer Dominic Toretto and teased the next instalment will be a lot darker and this will be brought out by 'Straight Outta Compton' director F. Gary Gray who is helming the sequel.
Vin said "We have a director who is going to bring the darkness out and bring out the character."
'Fast 8' is expected to be released on April 14, 2017.

Rebel Wilson pursued a career in film after she hallucinated that she was an actress.
The 30-year-old star has revealed that she discovered acting was her calling when she became seriously ill with malaria during a trip to Africa, and experienced life-changing dreams.
She said: "After I caught malaria during a gap year in Africa, I was so ill I hallucinated that I was an actress. Afterwards, I watched Oprah every day and she always said, 'If something keeps telling you to do something, you must do it. 'I took that as a sign i was going to be an actress. No one thought that would be a career path for me but, guess what: it worked out!"
