Julia Roberts: Chiwetel Ejiofor made me laugh every day

Julia Roberts says Chiwetel Ejiofor was her "belly-laughing comrade" on 'The Secret in Their Eyes'.
The 48-year-old actress can currently be seen in the crime thriller alongside the British actor, 38, and despite the serious tone of the drama, in which they play a pair of FBI agents, they always had fun on set.
She said: "I don't think that you always get the fun to balance the intense, but in this instance I found a really humorous, belly-laughing comrade in Chiwetel Ejiofor.
"Unexpected, in that he is so talented and English and handsome, and I guess I just thought those didn't equate to belly-laughing. I was so happy to find out they do."
The duo portray FBI investigators Ray and Jess alongside Nicole Kidman as their district-attorney supervisor Claire.
And the 'Pretty Woman' actress was delighted to have such a close knit cast.
Speaking on UK TV show 'Lorraine', she said: "I mean honestly, when I think about the cast, and don't forget this person we were really just so fortunate. We were all kind of just there and we were all in it together. We loved it."
In the movie, following the brutal murder of Jess' teenage daughter, their agents' friendships are torn apart, but after 13 years obsessively searching for the elusive killer, Ray uncovers a new lead that he is certain can permanently resolve the case - only for a shocking secret threatens their closure.

Sacha Baron Cohen: I’ll open cinema in Grimsby

Sacha Baron Cohen will "build a cinema in Grimsby" if his spy movie named after town does well at the box office.
The 44-year-old star attended the premiere of the film on Monday night (23.02.16) in London's Leicester Square and arrived in a Volkswagen van channelling his football hooligan alter ego, Norman 'Nobby' Grimsby.
Wearing only blue cotton Y-front pants, a turtle neck, socks and hotel slippers and clasping at a beer at the star-studded event, he paid tribute to the Lincolnshire town in England that features in the film.
And standing beside him was his wife Isla Fisher, who laughed as he joked about the teenage pregnancy rates in the town and told reporters: "Grimsby is the greatest place on Earth.
"If the film goes well I'm going to build a cinema in Grimsby. I'm not saying how big it will be - it'll be a large screen in a pub.
"The sad thing is we've got a 15 rating so 80 per cent of the mothers won't be able to watch it."
As well as his wife, who also appears in the movie, Sacha was joined at the premiere by his on-screen brother Mark Strong.
However, his on-screen girlfriend Dawn - played by Australian actress Rebel Wilson - was unable to attend.
Speaking in character as the sports fan-turned-super spy - who has nine children with Dawn - Sacha joked: "Dawny actually fell out of a window last night. She got very drunk."
To research the film, Sacha visited various pubs in Grimsby and filmed scenes there, but apparently upset locals including one local pub landlord Nev Carrick who said he doesn't know any fat, tattooed women like the characters in 'Grimsby'.
However, speaking at the premiere, director Louis Leterrier insisted: "It's kind of a homage to Grimsby. It's very colourful. The second part of the movie takes place in Grimsby and shows how amazing and colourful the characters are.
"It's about the underclass taking over."
Other guests at the premiere of the British comedy included John Thompson, Ricky Tomlinson, Johnny Vegas, Gabourey Sidibe and Annabelle Wallis.
'Grimsby' - which also stars Penelope Cruz - is set for release tomorrow (24.02.16)

Demian Bichir joins Alien: Covenant cast

Demian Bichir has joined the cast of 'Alien: Covenant'.
The 52-year-old actor has signed up to director Sir Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' sequel alongside returning
star Michael Fassbender and previously-announced newcomers Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride, Deadline.com reports.
The Fox film - which has a screenplay by Jack Paglen and Michael Green - will see the return of Fassbender as the amoral android from 'Prometheus', but plot details are being kept under wraps.
A shoot in Australia is currently entering production.
Demian - who was nominated for an Oscar for 'A Better Life' - was last seen in Quentin Tarantino's star-studded Western 'The Hateful Eight' and can next be seen alongside Eva Longoria in drama 'Low Riders'.
It was recently confirmed Noomi Rapace will not be returning for the second part of the director's prequel trilogy.
Asked if she'll be back, director Scott said no and added: "We're still casting the main roles."
Though shooting hasn't begun yet, the filmmaker knows exactly what the movie will look like thanks to his very detailed storyboards, which contain every planned camera shot from every angle.
He said: "Drawing up front can save a lot of time and energy."
'Alien: Covenant' is scheduled for release in October 2017.

Tom Hiddleston: I turned to acting when my parents divorced

Tom Hiddleston turned to acting when his parents divorced.
The 35-year-old actor admits he found his parents' split "really distressing" and used acting as an outlet for his emotions.
He said: "I started acting because I found being away at school while my parents were divorcing really distressing. It's only now I've got a retrospective angle on it. When you are a teenager you harbour secrets in a different way.
"If you are at a boys' school, especially, there is a level of bravado you have to keep up otherwise you'll get picked on. I was really quite upset and probably sad, vulnerable and angry. Acting presented a way of expelling those feelings in a safe place ...
"He was genuinely worried that I would be bored and unfulfilled. Acting was completely different from anything he knew and he couldn't see that it was a real job."
The 'Crimson Peak' star has recently been tipped to become the next James Bond but he remained tight lipped when asked if he was being lined up for the role.
He added to The Sun newspaper: "I'm a huge Bond fan. Daniel Craig is doing a very good job ... maybe one day. I love to play someone who makes brave decisions for the right reasons."

Naomie Harris: Will Smith is nicest guy I’ve worked with

Naomie Harris thinks Will Smith is "the nicest man she's ever worked with".
The 39-year-old actress is currently shooting 'Collateral Beauty' with Will and she admits she's "completely in love with him" as an actor and as a person.
Speaking on UK TV show 'Lorraine', she said: "I'm filming with Will Smith at the moment and I'm completely in love with him. He's incredible - he's the nicest man I've ever worked with."
Meanwhile, Naomie - who was the first black woman to play Moneypenny, taking on the role in 'Skyfall' and 'Spectre' - has commented on the lack of diversity represented in this year's Oscar nominations.
The British star thinks there is a problem in the movie industry with representation of different ethnicities, although she has never felt as though her career has been held back because of her race.
She said: "There is a real issue with diversity and I hope it gets fixed because there are so many talented actors and actresses of different ethnicity that aren't getting the opportunities they deserve."
Naomie insists her casting as Moneypenny in the 007 franchise caused very little controversy, and audiences were very accepting of her in the part.
She said: "(I think) it's because nobody knew, it was kept top secret. It was who outed me as Miss Moneypenny ... It has just completely transformed my career being a part of this franchise."

Brant Daugherty signs up for Fifty Shades Freed

Brant Daugherty has signed up to star in 'Fifty Shades Freed'.
The 'Pretty Little Liars' star will play Sawyer in the third instalment in the erotic film franchise, based on E.L. James' book series.
Brant's character is the personal body guard for Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) the lover of Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).
'Fifty Shades Freed', directed by James Foley, is being filmed back-to-back with second movie 'Fifty Shades Darker' in Paris, France, and Vancouver, Canada, and Dakota and Jamie are reprising their lead roles.
The pair will be joined in the two sequels by Kim Basinger, Eric Johnson, Arielle Kebbel, Luke Grimes and Rita Ora are joining them for the two sequels.
Rebel Wilson has also put herself forward to play a dominatrix character in 'Fifty Shades Freed' getting her pal Dakota to ask Universal Pictures if she could try for the role.
The comic actress said: "[Dakota] was like, 'You know there's this one character,' I forget the name, but it's a dominatrix character that pops up in the third movie. And she was like, 'Rebel, you could be that.'
"So I was like, 'If you want to put in a word for me with Universal and see what happens, yeah.' And she did offer to do that!"
'Fifty Shades Darker' is due to be released on February 10, 2017, while 'Fifty Shades Freed' is scheduled to come out on February 9, 2018.

E.T. designer on ‘bringing down games industry’

The designer of video game 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial' joked it's "awesome" to be credited with bringing down the video game industry.
Howard Scott Warshaw was given just five weeks to make the game instead of the usual six to eight months in 1982 to ensure it was released in the same month as the Steven Spielberg-directed movie, and while he managed that the game has since been dubbed the worst of all time.
He said: "It's awesome to be credited with single-handedly bringing down a billion-dollar industry with eight kilobytes of code. But the truth is a little more complex."
Atari paid a reported $21 million for the video game rights to the movie but the title flopped, selling just 1.5 million units when they were aiming for four million sales and resulted in the value of its parent company Warner Communications plunging.
After Warner announced 310 million losses in 1983, the company sold Atari for $240m in 2004.
Howard became "depressed" following ET the Extra-Terrestrial's demise and he quit the games industry before going on to retrain as a psychotherapist in 2008.
He told BBC News Magazine: "I took some time off to recover from the whole experience. I went into real estate for a couple of years and hated it.
"Eventually I went back to technology, returning to video games as a manager and director, but it had lost the charm by then.
"I knew I was done with the industry but I couldn't envision an alternative. I became depressed."
Speaking about being a psychotherapist, he said: "Maybe a part of me really wanted to compensate for all the trauma and depression I created with the ET game.
"But in reality it's something I always wanted to do."
The designer admits the game wasn't "perfect" when he had finished it but he doesn't think it's the worst of all time.
He added: "Is ET really the worst game of all time? Probably not. But the story of the fall of the video game industry needed a face and that was ET.
"I actually prefer it when people do identify it as the worst game of all time because I also did 'Yars Revenge' and that's frequently identified as one of the best of all time. So between the two, I have the greatest range of any designer in history!"
'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial' sees players guide the gentle alien through a number of screens in a bid to find pieces of an interplanetary telephone which, when built, will enable him to phone home.

John Rhys-Davies almost rejected Lord of the Rings

John Rhys-Davies almost rejected a role on 'Lords of the Rings' because he didn't want to spend his time "on a film that was going to fail".
The 71-year-old actor made his debut as Gimli the Dwarf in the franchise's first movie, 'The Fellowship of the Ring' in December 2001, but has admitted he was initially concerned the movie going to be a flop until he saw Peter Jackson directing.
He said: "I didn't want to spend three years in prosthetic make-up on a film that was going to fail.
"It was Jackson himself that forced me to say yes. When I saw him direct, and saw the mastery that he had with his crew and his actors, I did a 180 degree turn.
"I was the very first person to say, 'Gentlemen, revise your expectations - upwards - because these films are going to be amongst the biggest grossing films of their time, and when you look back in 10 or 20 years at the best films of your lifetime, this trilogy is going to be there'.
"I think it's borne out by the facts - I got it right."
John played Sallah in Indiana Jones films 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' in 1981 and 'The Last Crusade' in 1989, and admits he is keen to reprise the role in a fifth film in the franchise.
He added to Digital Spy: "Every time I see Spielberg, I say to him, 'Steven - the really successful films are the first and the third, but there seems to be something missing from two and four... I wonder what it is?' and he laughs!
"Of course, I would like to do another one - he's a great character - but I'd have him do something meaningful."
