Mikey North thinks Corrie will revisit PTSD storyline

Mikey North hopes ‘Coronation Street’ will revisit Gary Windass’ battle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The 31-year-old soap star has played the character for a decade on the cobbles, and Gary’s condition was triggered in the aftermath of the show’s tram crash in 2010.
Suggesting it was something the writers could explore further, he told BANG Showbiz: "The PTSD storyline, I enjoyed doing that. Hopefully they may revisit that at some point. It’s always recurring, so I’m sure they will."
While that storyline has stuck out for Mikey, next week’s episodes are amongst his favourites over 10 years as a ‘Corrie’ star.
He said: "This year’s been my best year, definitely. I think getting put with Sarah and the Platts has been a really good thing for me, I’ve enjoyed that. Definitely this week of eps would be up there.
"I’ve particularly enjoyed working with Owen – Ian Puleston-Davies, who played Owen – he was my best man at my wedding actually, in real life. So we had a close a bond, it was always nice working with him."
Although some of his storylines have been quite intense, the actor – who has just signed a new contract to keep him on the cobbles for at least another 12 months – explained it’s not something he intentionally keeps on his mind after leaving work, despite admitting he probably does it without realising.
He added: "I don’t feel it, but my wife would probably say otherwise … I suppose there must be a part of you that does take it home, because you’ve been doing it all day. But a beer will probably help that at the end of the day."
