Michelle Keegan saved woman’s life with Our Girl training

Michelle Keegan helped to save a woman’s life with the training she learned for ‘Our Girl’.
The 30-year-old actress – who plays army medic Georgie in the BBC One show – stepped in when a woman was taken ill in a restaurant and credits her training for the show for giving her the "confidence" to act.
She said: "Before ‘Our Girl’, I would never have done that. I would have gone into a panic state. I think the training that I had gave me confidence."
And Michelle – who is married to Mark Wright – realised the woman needed sugar and told the waiter to bring a coca cola to the table.
She added: "They came over with a bottle and a straw. I knew it was quite dangerous because it could get trapped in her throat. So I threw the straw and put it in a glass. She started sipping it and came around slowly."
Michelle has had a string of great roles since she left ‘Coronation Street’ and she previously revealed she works hard to make the ‘Corrie’ casting team "proud".
Recalling just after she found out she was cast, she said: "I walked out stunned. I phoned my dad and asked if he wanted to be picked up from work. When he got into the car I had the script on the back seat and I asked him to pass it to me. He looked at it, saw my name and what it was and screamed.
"He was – and still is – the biggest Corrie fan. It changed my life and all our lives. Part of the reason I work so hard is because I want to make the casting people at ‘Coronation Street’ proud because they were the ones who gave me my chance."
