Michael Fassbender to take acting break

Michael Fassbender has revealed he plans to take a break from acting.
The 39-year-old actor admits he’s been "pretty full on" this year, having starred in the upcoming ‘Assassin’s Creed’ movie, as well as reprising his role as David in ‘Alien: Covenant’ – the sequel to 2012’s ‘Prometheus’ which will be released in May next year – and the star now believes it is time for him to take a moment to relax.
He told Time Out magazine: "It’s been pretty full on. I had a ferocious appetite and energy for it, and I went at it like a maniac. But I’m going to take some downtime now. The last five years, I was verging on being a workaholic. I’ve just been going from film to film."
And whilst the Hollywood hunk is planning on returning to the spotlight in the future, he also claimed he wouldn’t rule out quitting his job all together.
When asked if he would ever stop acting, Michael told the publication: "I’m not ruling it out. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but a part of me thinks you have a time as an actor when you’re at your best. There’s a journey to it, and then it’s downhill."
The news comes after the star – who received his breakthrough role in ‘Hunger’ at the age of 31 – recently admitted he is in a profession which relies very much on other people for opportunities to come along, so he always does his best with whatever comes his way.
He explained: "It’s about being in the right place at the right time. Ninety-five per cent is luck – meeting the right people.
"As actors we are very dependant on others to help us get to where we are. Where I’m at today wouldn’t have happened without a series of people who helped me along the way.
"You have to be awake to these encounters, too.
"With ‘Hunger’ I was very aware that I was getting an opportunity that might not come about again for maybe another seven years, 10 years, if at all.
"So I grabbed it by the scruff of the neck and went for it. I focused and worked hard."
