Mercury Prize performers revealed

Florence + the Machine will perform at the Hyundai Mercury Prize event this month.
The ‘Spectrum (Say My Name)’ hitmakers are nomianted for this year’s award after releasing their new album ‘High As Hope’, and they will be amongst the top stars to take to the at the ceremony on September 20 at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.
Also confirmed to perform on the night are a number of stars on the shortlist, including Everything Everything, Lily Allen, Novelist, Wolf Alice and Sons of Kemet.
They will be joined by Everything Is Recorded, King Krule, Nadine Shah and Jorja Smith.
However, the final two nominees for the prize – Arctic Monkeys and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – have not been named as performers.
The ceremony – which will be hosted by Annie Mac – honours the best UK/Irish albums made over the past year, with 12 acts listed.
Last year’s winner record was ‘Process’ by Sampha, who admitted receiving the trophy felt like a dream come true.
Speaking after he picked up his £25,000 from actor Idris Elba, Sampha said: "I feel like I am dreaming a little bit, this is incredible. I’d like to dedicate this award to my parents.
"I’d like to thank all my brothers for always giving me encouragement and making me believe in myself. I am so thankful for this. Thank you so much."
The prize is decided by a panel of judges, which this year included talented musicians like Ella Eyre, Jamie Cullum, Marcus Mumford and Mista Jam.
