Mel Giedroyc to host Relatively Clever

Mel Giedroyc will host ‘Relatively Clever’.

The ‘Great British Bake Off’ presenter will star on the new Sky1 quiz show which "pits families against each other" and puts their general knowledge to the test.

The seven-part series is set to air in 2015 during the channel’s 8pm slot and the 46-year-old presenter confessed she is looking forward to seeing the families battle it out for the show trophy.

According to Digital Spy, she said: "I’m very excited to be working on new Sky1 quiz show ‘Relatively Clever’.

"Everyone loves a quiz and it’ll be great to see the families working together, putting their general knowledge and unashamed shrewdness to the test as they battle it out for the ‘Relatively Clever’ trophy."

Sky1’s channel director Adam MacDonald added that he is "delighted" with the team-up.

He said: "We’re delighted that Mel is joining the channel as the face of ‘Relatively Clever’.

"It’s an intelligent, entertaining quiz – and a family affair, with plenty of opportunity for Sky1 customers to play along at home."

Mel has become a regular face on primetime TV since she and her comedy partner – fellow ‘Bake Off’ host Sue Perkins – established themselves as the comedy duo Mel and Sue in the 1990s.

Mel has also presented her own solo shows including the Channel 4 show ‘Draw it!’ earlier this year.
