Mel Gibson’s ex Oksana Grigorieva has received just $250,000 of a $750,000 claim for child support from the star.
The former couple share custody of their six-year-old daughter Lucia but the 46-year-old singer/songwriter is no longer owed the remaining $500,000 from the money she was originally entitled to, because she broke the terms of their agreement in 2013 by speaking out about the ‘Mad Max’ actor’s alleged domestic abuse on ‘The Howard Stern’ show, according to TMZ.
A California appeals court has found in the star’s favour and ruled that Oksana cannot claim the remaining monies, after she discussed the incident and ultimately cleared the ‘Apocalypto’ filmmaker off any liability to pay the balance.
The agreement was reached in 2011 and the terms stated Oksana would relinquish any remaining settlement money if she spoke about the allegations in public.
Oksana was receiving $20,000 each month since and was awarded a house in Sherman Oaks, California, where she lives with the little girl.
When Lucia turns 18 the house will be sold and the proceeds turned into a trust fund for her.
The 60-year-old actor and musician locked horns in July 2010 when Mel was identified as a possible suspect in a domestic violence case which Oksana later dropped.
