Megan Barton Hanson was once "egged" on a first date.
The former ‘Love Island’ star – who coupled up with now-boyfriend Wes Nelson in the famous villa – had a string of awful dating experiences before she entered the famous abode, including receiving several cancellations from guys on dating apps who thought her profile was fake, and being pelted with yolks.
She said: "I’d been single for two years and I needed to find someone.
"I was getting the worst Bumble dates ever. I ran away from one. I got egged on one.
"I had people telling me they thought I was a Catfish so they didn’t turn up."
The former stripper also admits she would feel "absolutely fine" parading around half-naked somewhere, but if she had to speak in front of a crowd it would be her "worst nightmare".
Megan – who was open on the ITV2 show about getting jiggy with it – said: "I’m just me. If I wanted to have sex in the villa, I’d do it.
"People don’t understand: how could you possibly be shy and insecure, but comfortable being naked.
"To go up and speak in front of people, that would be my absolute worst nightmare.
"But to go and parade around half-naked, I’d be absolutely fine.
"You can be shy in different ways."
The 24-year-old former glamour model has admitted the show has helped her overcome anxiety and dating issues she faced before entering the villa, because she had to deal with her demons head on.
Speaking to Grazia magazine, she said: "There’s no escape.
"You’ve got to deal with your emotions. Usually if I was getting close to someone like I was with Wes, I would’ve run a mile because every boyfriend I’ve ever had has cheated on me and hurt me.
"I thought, ‘No one’s ever gonna love me for me,’ and now I’ve met Wes and I know he’s telling me the truth.
"I’ve changed from the girl who walked into the villa, shaking and nervous and didn’t rate myself. I’ve grown."
