Maura Higgins and Michael Barrymore confirmed for Dancing On Ice

Maura Higgins and Michael Barrymore have joined ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The ‘Love Island’ star and the veteran TV presenter have been confirmed for the next series of the ITV figure skating show, and the 28-year-old beauty admitted while she’s "scared" she thinks her "competitive" edge will help her.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ after emerging from a snow globe to make the exciting announcement, she said: "It’s massive. [The headbanger] is what frightens me – but I think I’m more excited than scared.
"Like, I’m brave and competitive, so I think that’ll drive me… I’ve skated twice in my life just for fun, so I have no experience at all. It’s very scary!"
Training is set to start early next month, and Maura admitted it could take a lot for her to adjust to the fitness levels needed for the competition.
She added: "I don’t go to the gym, so I think I’m gonna struggle! I’m gonna be training everyday, so my body is not gonna be ready for it."
Meanwhile Michael, 67, appeared in a video clip confirming her involvement as he revealed he is "delighted" to be competing, and he’s looking forward to the show getting underway.
The comedian – who has hosted the likes of ‘Strike It Lucky’ and ‘Kids Say The Funniest Things’ said: "I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone, I haven’t got a clue who everyone else is. I’m really excited!"
‘Coronation Street’ star Lisa George, newsreader Lucrezia Millarini, model Caprice, dancer Perri Kiely, and Steps singer Ian ‘H’ Watkins are among those who are also expected to compete on the show early next year.
Meanwhile, John Barrowman has confirmed he’ll be replacing Jason Gardiner on the judging panel alongside Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
