Martin Compston warns fans about ‘fake’ Instagram account

Martin Compston has solved a real-life mystery after discovering someone is posing as him on a "fake" Instagram account.
The 34-year-old actor is used to solving crimes as DS Steve Arnott in the BBC police corruption drama ‘Line of Duty’, and now off-screen he has taken to Twitter to warn his followers that someone is using an Instagram profile to message "a lot of [his] female followers for details".
He tweeted: "Hey troops this stuff is usually harmless but this fake account apparently been messaging a lot of my female followers for details. Obviously not me thanks for people getting in touch to give me a heads up (sic)"
Martin is known for his straight-laced detective alter-ego, but he previously admitted it was quite hard to nail his London accent for the popular BBC One series, because he isn’t very good at them.
He said: "I’m not [very good at accents] … but that makes me work my a**e off to do them."
And he always knows when he has "nailed" an accent because he wakes up talking in his well-practised voice, and even sometimes dreams about it.
He added: "I’ve always had a good work ethic. I get so over-prepared so I’ve got no excuses on the day. You know you’ve nailed it when you wake up in the morning and you’re talking to yourself in the accent.
"Your mind just goes to it. You have dreams in it, for sure, because you’re doing it that much."
