Marc Baylis feels more attractive following Coronation Street murder

Marc Baylis feels more attractive since his ‘Coronation Street’ character Rob Donovan murdered Tina McIntyre on the ITV soap.

The 37-year-old actor insists he has had more attention from female viewers since his character killed Tina (played by Michelle Keegan) on the series in May and was even forced to defend himself after one eager fan grabbed his bottom.

He told The Sun newspaper: "I was doing a personal appearance at a hotel room of 500 women. All of a sudden two hands grabbed a buttock each! I said, ‘Are you having a laugh? Surely that’s illegal to just grope me!’

"It was a middle-aged lady and she said, ‘Oh, I enjoyed that’.

"It’s quite perverse but people have started to find Rob a bit more attractive, which worries me!"

Marc admitted he was shocked by the response to Rob’s dark side after he pushed the pretty brunette over a balcony and beat her with a metal pipe as he initially expected a bad reaction from viewers.

He explained: "That’s what I’d psyched myself up for and prepared for, but it’s been the polar opposite."

The hunky actor has done his best to keep Rob from being perceived as a vicious killer by showing a more "human" side to his character, allowing the audience to sympathise him.

He said: "I’ve tried to keep it as human as possible, so Rob hasn’t become the plotting villain, and people have related to it.

"It could happen to anyone in that moment of anger, so people sympathise with him."
