Lucy Alexander ‘often’ filmed in haunted houses in Homes Under The Hammer

Lucy Alexander "often" filmed in haunted houses during ‘Homes Under The Hammer’.
The 48-year-old presenter – who co-hosted the BBC makeover show from its launch in 2003 until 2016 – revealed that there were times during filming when she had a "strange feeling" that she "wasn’t alone" and insisted there was often a "really sad story" which explained the supernatural behaviour.
In an interview with a Metro newspaper, she said: "Oh yes, there have been moments when we’ve heard a noise or something has fallen, and quite a few times I’ve had the strange feeling that I’m really not alone.
"Over the 13 years, I did ‘Homes Under The Hammer ‘ we often filmed in a room where we had a strange sensation and then discovered it had a really sad story.
"I’m quite spiritual and I’m always thinking about somebody and then the phone rings and it will be them!"
The TV personality went on to recall awkward moments on the show where couples had bought the wrong properties, or even unwittingly buying a home to find "the roof caving in and dead pigeons and rats inside".
She explained: "Probably meeting people who hadn’t realised what they’d bought at auction, who had put their hand up without thinking and bid by accident.
"I remember one lady had bought a shop she didn’t want because she’d confused it with the lot before and ended up buying the wrong lot.
"A few times we’d turn up at a home with the new owner to see them go inside and find the roof caving in and dead pigeons and rats inside. They’d be standing there, thinking, ‘What have I done?’ and when we’d return six months later they’d still be asking what they’d done. "
