The ‘Love Island’ villa is infested with rats and ants due to the contestants unwillingness to tidy up after themselves, a former contestant has claimed.
Viewers have seen the villa infested with love rats like blonde bombshell Megan Barton Hanson and Adam Collard, but according to one ex star of the ITV2 reality show the plush pad in Mallorca is being overrun by real rodents and the scavenging insects because the property is so dirty.
Bosses are trying to deal with the problem by lavishing praise on the babes and hunks doing their bit to keep the villa clean and tidy.
The former islander told The Sun Online: "There are ants all over the kitchen crawling all over food – trails of them are going towards the bread and fruit. The nastiest thing is rats. Some people don’t care, but others found it really horrible. If they bothered cleaning up after themselves it wouldn’t be going on. It’s filthy."
The rats are coming into the villa to scavenge food and snacks which are being left by contestants out in the sun and the ants are on the hunt for sweet drinks and fruit that are being left lying around by the lazy lovers.
Due to the villa’s location in Sant Llorenc des Cardassar on the east side of the island the holiday house is surrounded by wildlife which is attracted to the easy pickings on offer.
Meanwhile, contestants were rocked by the eviction of Grace Wardle and Frankie Foster from the ‘Love Island’ villa and the arrival of two new hunks.
Following the pair’s departure, Kieran Nicholls, a 26-year-old personal trainer, and Idris Virgo, a 25-year-old boxer, are coming onto the programme this week and they both have the hots for Kaz Crossley, who is coupled up with Josh Denzel.
Idris said: "I’ve got my eye on Kaz, Georgia and Samira. I know some of the girls are coupled up, like Kaz with Josh, so it would be a challenge with her but I’ll find a way of stealing Kaz because she is my type. I don’t mind stepping on people’s toes."
And Kieran added: "I’ve got my eye on Kaz in terms of looks and personality. She has her head screwed on and she knows where she wants to be and that’s a trait I look for. Megan is also pretty hot. Maybe she might meet someone like me who will tame her."
