Love Island bosses’ final fears

‘Love Island’ bosses were concerned they wouldn’t have four couples for this year’s final after so many villa break ups.
The ITV2 dating show’s narrator Iain Stirling has admitted show bosses usually "want to break couples up", but that wasn’t required this year after numerous Islanders split up of their own accords following the Casa Amor stage.
He said: "Casa Amor this year worked better than anyone was expecting.
"Normally we want to break couples up but this year no one wanted to stay together.
"We thought we weren’t going to have four couples for the final at one point, just a bunch of bitter people giving daggers to one other. But we got there in the end."
After the girls returned from second villa Casa Amor, Curtis Pritchard and Amy Hart split, Michael Griffiths ditched Amber Gill – who went on to win the show with Greg O’Shea – and Jordan Hames was dumped by Anna Vakili.
Iain believes Amber was a worthy winner of the programme because she had gone "on a journey" throughout.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he added: "Amber is what I love on the show. When someone goes on a journey.
"She went in there with this idea of, ‘I’m going to be a cold, strong, powerful, young lady,’ and then Michael came and the plan got taken to pieces.
"Then she had to rebuild herself and what her role was in that villa, and then she met Greg.
"They were really lovely together. It’s mad talking about them being a couple, they’ve known each other for two weeks.
"But there’s definitely that connection there."
