Loose Women returning for NHS special

‘Loose Women’ will be back on air this week as part of ITV’s ‘NHS Day’.
The daytime favourite will return on Thursday (16.04.20) with a special episode as show anchor Christine Lampard, and panellists Stacey Solomon, Nadia Sawalha and Brenda Edwards all appear from home.
Announcing the news on Twitter, a message on the show’s official account read: "We’re returning to your screens to say a massive ‘thank you’ to our incredible NHS staff with a special show this Thursday.
"Join us at 12.30pm on @ITV and @WeAreSTV to show your appreciation for our frontline heroes."
The pre-recorded episode will be the first new edition of ‘Loose Women’ in weeks after bosses decided to stop filming new episodes of the show – and ‘Lorraine’ – last month to allow the team to focus on producing ‘Good Morning Britain’ and ‘This Morning’ during the coronavirus pandemic.
A spokesperson said at the time: "We have been reducing our crew numbers over the last week and these changes will enable us to reduce them further and help us build further resilience with the aim of daytime content continuing to air for as long as possible."
‘NHS Day’ – which will feature specially-themed content – kicks off tomorrow morning at 6am with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on ‘Good Morning Britain’, before Lorraine Kelly takes over the reigns on ‘GMB’ at 9am.
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will be on the ‘This Morning’ sofa from 10am, with ‘Loose Women’ returning for the one-off special at 12.30pm.
The network will continue with bespoke content throughout the schedule, including the ‘pause for applause’ at 8pm for the nationwide Clap for our Carers initiative.
Emma Gormley, Managing Director at ITV Daytime, said: "Like everyone else in the country we want to say a massive thank you to our NHS heroes.
"We look forward to a day of extra special programmes in celebration and gratitude for our amazing NHS staff and all they continue to do for us."
