Loose Women delays going on air after fire alarm

The start of ‘Loose Women’ was delayed on Tuesday afternoon (05.11.17) when a fire alarm rang out seconds before the show went live.
Christine Lampard revealed how the panel – which included Ayda Field, Janet Street Porter and Nadia Sawalha – were just about to walk out to greet the audience when the alarm started going and they all had to be evacuated.
An old episode of the show started playing before it was cut off by an error in transmission message.
A voice over told viewers: "Well apologies for that temporary suspension of today’s live ‘Loose Women’, we can now happily tell you we’re returning to the studio."
Christine, Ayda, Janet and Nadia then all walked onto the set and the 38-year-old television presenter revealed just what had happened.
She said: "Welcome to Tuesday’s ‘Loose Women’ where we nearly weren’t going to come on! Did you notice that? The fire alarm went off literally seconds before we were supposed to come out and say hello. The audience all had to leave and we didn’t know what was going on. But we are back ladies and gentlemen!"
Later in the programme, Ayda – whose husband Robbie Williams was on the show – quipped he was the cause of the problem as when he was backstage visiting her last time, the whole show was plunged into darkness due to a lighting error.
And it is not the first time shows have been taken off air due to unexpected circumstances.
Back in 2016, ‘Good Morning Britain’ was taken off air after a fire broke out in the London studio.
A statement released by London Fire Brigade said at the time: "Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers have tackled a small fire at ITV Studios on London’s Southbank this morning. Part of a post room on the first floor was damaged by fire. The fire meant that ‘Good Morning Britain’ was taken off air."
No-one was hurt and the fire was put out almost immediately.
