Lindsay Booth would have resigned from ‘The Apprentice’ if Lord Sugar hadn’t fired her.
The 29-year-old swimming academy owner has admitted that she was "out of her depth" on the BBC One show and was actually relieved when the businessman asked her to leave the program last night (22.10.14).
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Lindsay explained: "If I hadn’t been fired and I think Lord Sugar knows that. I would have resigned it’s just that he got there before me, which I’m pleased about. I’m glad I was fired. I didn’t want to take the back door route and resign.
"It was a huge relief. I think that if I was allowed I would have skipped out of the boardroom. I think [Lord Sugar] would have been shocked! But I think he knew I was secretly relieved."
Lindsay revealed that she had applied to the show with no prior experience in sales but is glad she went over another candidate.
She said: "Funnily enough when I applied I thought I would be quite good at it. Clearly not! I didn’t feel in that moment that I deserved to stay over any of my other candidates."
Following Lindsay’s elimination, Lord Sugar then fired Nurun Ahmed after Roisin Hogan brought Nurun and James Hill back to the boardroom for a grilling.
Despite admitting that she was "relieved" to be leaving the show the fashion retailer added that the blame for the failure of the task lays "absolutely" with the project manager Roisin.
