Len Goodman releasing new album

Len Goodman is releasing a new album entitled ‘Len’s Legends: Best of British’ comprised of all the music that has helped shape his career, including a track that was recorded by his late friend Bruce Forsyth.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge has created a 3-CD compilation LP which will be available on Sony Music from November 24 and features a host of tracks which have influenced both his dance career and the most memorable moments of his life.
‘Pick Yourself Up’ was written in 1936 by Jerome Kern, with lyrics by Dorothy Fields and features a 32 bar chorus though with an extended coda and a rhyming scheme.
Other artists to feature on the record include Dame Shirley Bassey, Queen, Dusty Springfield, Sir Elton John, Sir Tom Jones, Acker Bilk and Anthony Newley among many more.
When he was making his choices for the LP, Len knew he wanted to include a song recorded by his dear pal and former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ colleague Bruce – who died in August at the age of 89.
Len, 73, said: "I am so pleased to be able to celebrate in music what the UK has given to the world. What better way to pay tribute to my friend Sir Bruce Forsyth whose charisma and talent was the leading light in British talent and has the power to live on and be remembered forever."
Although he achieved huge fame through his role as the head judge on the BBC One series from when it first began in 2004 until he left in 2016, Len’s dance career began at the age of 21 and he devoted his life to mastering ball room and Latin and became a four-time British champion as well as becoming an expert teacher and judge.
After making the decision to step away from his ‘Strictly…’ job last year – being replaced by Shirley Ballas – Len has hosted quiz show, ‘Partners In Rhyme’ for the BBC, continued his radio broadcasting and released two other compilation albums.
