Len Goodman wishes Anton du Beke would be partnered with a "hot young dancer".
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge has confessed he feels sorry for the professional dancer, who is often paired with less capable celebrity contestants on the BBC One dance contest.
Speaking about whether he thinks Anton should’ve taken over as host when Sir Bruce Forsyth stepped down from the role earlier this year, Len said: "I think if they decide to change the format again I think Anton would be great. In the meantime, I just wish he’d get partnered with a hot young dancer.
"I mean, he’s had Ann Widdecombe, Nancy Dell’Olio – and now Judy Murray!"
The 70-year-old professional ballroom dancer revealed he is full of enthusiasm for the current series of the show, despite having been unsure as to who some of the celebrities that are taking part were before it started.
He admitted: "The line up is fantastic. I love it. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t heard of some of these guys (and, frankly, I hadn’t) because you learn about them as the show goes on."
Meanwhile, Len – who also acts as a judge on the US version of Strictly, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ – has rubbished claims he is planning to quit the show.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "No! I wouldn’t leave Strictly for something else. They will have to drag me off kicking and screaming. And my mum, who’s 97, would kill me. Besides – who’d keep the other judges in line?"
