Lauren Pope was drunk when she agreed TOWIE return

Lauren Pope was heavily intoxicated when she agreed to return to ‘The Only Way is Essex’.
The 34-year-old businesswoman quit the ITVBe show in 2015 in order to focus on her business venture Hair Rehab London but her stint away from the screen came to an end recently after bosses managed to persuade her to return after knocking back some cocktails.
Speaking to the MailOnline, she said: "I had a drunken night out and I bumped into Chloe Sims and she was with a couple of ‘TOWIE’ producers.
"Our meeting was basically drinking cocktails all day and in my tipsy state I agreed to go back.
"The producer rang me the next day and I was like ‘erm, ok, why not’. I just thought ‘f**k it!’ I’d had enough time to get my head straight and I thought it’d be fun. Me and Chloe are in a good place now so I think I’ll go into this series feeling the way I did before."
The blonde beauty has admitted she’ll never forget the moment she was dumped by her now-ex-boyfriend Kirk Norcross live on television because the humiliation has mentally scarred her.
She said: "I didn’t want to be there – when your friendships and relationships are broken on that show it really takes the enjoyment away from it – the storylines and air time for some people that’s all they want – but I find when your anxieties outweigh the benefits of being on the show the show that’s when you know it’s time to take a break.
"I really hope it will be better now… there’s so much s**t stirring on that show behind the scenes that it’s just natural you get caught up in it… but as you get older you don’t hold grudges.
"Me, Chloe and Gemma Collins are probably the older ones so we can hopefully take a backseat and judge everyone else on their dramas – fingers crossed."
