Laura Tobin returns to Good Morning Britain

Laura Tobin will return to ‘Good Morning Britain’ in two months’ time.
The 36-year-old weather girl has been on maternity leave since September last year, after her daughter Charlotte was born prematurely, but she has confirmed she’ll be returning to the early-morning breakfast show from April.
Speaking on the show this morning (19.02.18), she said: "I’m coming back for when we launch the new studio, which is in two months’ time."
The studio was overcome with excitement this morning when Laura brought little Charlotte – who was born three months prematurely – in to meet everyone.
Speaking of motherhood, she said: "Nobody tells you how hard it is being a parent. It’s really difficult! But do you know what? We’re so lucky, she sleeps basically through the night. She doesn’t like sleeping during the day so much."
And, although Charlotte is very strong now, Laura is still very cautious about her because she weighed only 2.5lbs when she born and her lungs weren’t fully-formed.
She explained: "Lots of babies that are born prematurely, their lungs don’t work, they have chronic lung disease. They all have oxygen support for a long time.
"However, the bigger she got, the stronger she got, and then she came home off oxygen which is amazing. But it means she’s really susceptible to coughs and colds and things. I carry around a bottle of anti bacterial gel wherever I go."
Laura’s current replacement on the show, Alex Beresford, will continue to step in for her when she is unable to work, but will more than likely be taking on more projects following his appearance on ITV’s popular show ‘Dancing on Ice’.
