Kylie Minogue would love to experiment with indie folk

Kylie Minogue would like to experiment with indie folk.

The disco-pop icon, 55, is a huge fan of the genre and would love to do a song or two in that vein.

Speaking to Billboard at the Grammy Awards this past weekend, she said: “I did a song [1995’s ‘Where the Wild Roses Grow’] with Nick Cave, which was back in the 90s. It was quite alternative, it was a murder ballad. So there’s that.

But I enjoy a lot of indie folk, which I haven’t really done myself.

“I don’t think I’ve ever said that out loud, but that would be fun.”

She then clarified: “Maybe it’s not an entire album, just a little taste.”

At the bash in Los Angeles on Sunday (04.02.24), Kylie won her second-ever Grammy and said it felt like the start of a “new era”.

The pop idol’s club anthem ‘Padam Padam’ from her LP ‘Tension’ was the inaugural winner of the new accolade, Best Pop Dance Recording, beating the likes of David Guetta, Anne-Marie and Coi Leray’s ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s ‘Miracle’, Bebe Rexha and Guetta’s ‘One in a Million’ and Troye Sivan’s ‘Rush’.

Speaking to ‘E!’s Live from the Red Carpet’ host Laverne Cox after the win, Kylie said in a message to her LGBTQ+ fans: “I would say thank you for being with me for such a long time now, through thick and thin.

“We ride the highs, the lows, and the in-betweens, and to know that we’ve got each other’s backs and this feels like the start of the next era.”
