Kimberley Walsh will shed her maiden name when she marries fiancé Justin Scott.
The star – who got engaged last year to her long-term partner Justin Scott, with whom she has 13-month old son Bobby – shocked her friends and fans when she revealed she wants to drop her famous name when she finally weds next summer.
The 34-year-old beauty confessed: "I am finally getting married! We’ve been together about 12 years, so we’ve already done a marriage basically … but now we’re getting married I’m going to take his (Justin’s) name and be Kimberly Scott. People keep saying to me, ‘Oh well you can’t do that!’. And I’m like, ‘Really?’ I think I can. I want us to be a family and I’d like to have his name."
Kimberley has picked her bridesmaids and they will include her former Girls Aloud bandmates Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nicola Roberts, Justin’s 16-year-old daughter Chloe from a previous relationship and some of her closest friends.
She revealed: "I’m starting to make plans. It’ll be next year but we don’t know exactly when yet. I’ve got bridesmaids picked, Cheryl and Nicola are among the tribe I’ve got! It’s going to be lovely."
Although Justin, 33, proposed moments after Kimberley gave birth to their son Bobby last year, the ‘Elf: The Musical’ actress has been too busy to sort the finer details of their nuptials – yet.
Speaking on TV show ‘This Morning’, she said: "I’m starting to try and make plans but honestly I don’t have any time with the show, there’s not much mental space in my head at the moment but we are starting. It’s gonna be next year."
