Kevin Clifton feels pressure to do well on Strictly

Kevin Clifton is feeling extra pressure to do well on ‘Strictly come Dancing’ because of Shirley Ballas.
The professional dancer, who is partnering comic Susan Calman on the new series of the show, used to be coached by the show’s newest judge – who has joined in place of Len Goodman – so he knows she’ll be on the lookout for his imperfections.
He said: "Shirley was my coach as a kid and trained me for a long time, which unfortunately mans she also knows all of my faults so I’m keen to do a good job."
And Kevin – who is married to fellow professional Karen Clifton – hopes this will be his year to finally life the Glitterball Trophy.
He said: "After four years of being runner up, I’m always keen to go that one step further and lift the Glitterball. But I get more nervous watching Karen than thinking of myself."
While he hasn’t been working with Susan for long, Kevin is very happy with his partner.
He told HELLO! magazine: "Susan is awesome. I’ve already been over to meet her wife and five cats and we are fast becoming good mates."
And Karen is equally pleased to be dancing with chef Simon Rimmer.
She said: "Simon has taken it on with such passion and strength. I have high hopes, but, most importantly, hope he enjoys the show and has an amazing experience."
