Kem Cetinay is ‘struggling’ with Dancing on Ice training

Kem Cetinay is "really struggling" with his training for ‘Dancing on Ice’ – and is still using a penguin stabiliser to help him get around the rink.
The ‘Love Island’ champion has less than two months before he’ll have to glide out of the wings to perform his first routine for the forthcoming series of the show, but he has admitted he’s not a "natural" on skates and is already covered in bruises.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Wednesday (08.11.17), he said: "I’m not gonna lie – it’s really hard, and I’m really, really struggling. I’ve seen everyone else, they’re doing all these moves and cross-overs. My trainer just told me ‘Some people are natural, some people are not, and you’re not’. Yeah (I’m using a stabiliser called a penguin) and I’m wondering if they’ll let me take it out on to the ice with me on the first show …. I can’t get the hang of putting one foot forward then the other, because I’m used to walking."
But the 21-year-old hunk will have to work hard if he’s hoping to stay in the competition for longer than one week as he’s up against some high-flying sportsmen and women.
Track and field athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton, cricketer Monty Panesar and rugby hunk Max Evans have all agreed to slip into a pair of skates for the new series next year.
Jake Quickenden, Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown and Bucks Fizz’s Cheryl Baker and Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent and Antony Cotton are also on board.
More celebrities will be announced in due course but, for now, it’s been confirmed that acid-tongue Australian Jason Gardiner has reclaimed his position on the judging panel alongside Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – who previously mentored the contestants but have now switched positions – and Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will return as hosts.
