Katie Price has received three kidnap threats in the past.
The 39-year-old former glamour model was forced to cancel her gig in Manchester earlier this month after her son Harvey, 15, was involved in a "blackmail plot", where an anonymous email was sent to her management company, threatening to "smash Harvey’s face in" unless she paid out £50,000.
And, although the police are currently investigating the incident, the ‘Loose Women’ panellist has decided to beef up her security because this isn’t the first time she’s received threats regarding her children.
Katie – who also has Junior, 12, Princess, 10, Jett, four, and Bunny three – explained: "I had to cancel my tour date in Manchester. I can’t go into detail because the people who are involved could read this. I’m not allowed to make a comment but the police are taking it seriously because I’ve received three kidnap threats before. Things are under control but it is an ongoing investigation."
Katie has had somewhat of a rough year as over the past two months she’s suffered a miscarriage, caught her husband Kieran Hayler cheating on her with her nanny and discovered her mum Amy Price has a terminal lung condition and doctors don’t expect her to live longer than five years.
She told OK! magazine: "It’s sad. All I can say is the past two months I’ve had a miscarriage, found out Kieran was cheating, found out my mum’s seriously ill and Harvey’s now had a threat. It’s pretty s**t."
But the reality TV star is determined to throw herself into health and fitness in order to keep her mind clear and focus on her wellness because she doesn’t want to go down the "dark path".
She added: "Instead of going down a dark path, I’m going to turn to fitness and learn to cook healthy food because I don’t really know how to do it. I want to focus on something that’s good for me. It’s the only way I’ll be able to deal with everything that’s happened, so that’s what I’ll do."
