Jorgie Porter’s ‘tricky’ Hollyoaks return

Jorgie Porter admits playing Theresa McQueen again was "a bit tricky at first".

The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress has returned to the Channel 4 soap after leaving in 2016, and she had some doubts about being able to get back into the character she played for eight years before her exit.

She told Inside Soap magazine: "It was a bit tricky at first playing Theresa again, as I was like, ‘Who is she? What if I can’t do her anymore? What if I don’t know who she is?’

"I thought I might have to get the directors to conduct a seance to find her!

"But once I had my hair and makeup done, and tottered around in her high heels, it all came flooding back."

However, Jorgie admitted there have been some changes to the set over the past few years – some of them for the better.

She added: "I did have to ask the guys where the McQueens live now! The Dog is new, which was a surprise.

"I like the changes since I was last here, though, and I don’t miss those leather sofas in the McQueen house – they were horrendous and were so sticky on my bare legs!"

The 32-year-old star is delighted to be back working on the soap, and she joked plenty of people never realised she’d left in the first place.

She quipped: "It’s great to be back. I did feel like the character wasn’t finished – and everyone I met always thought I was still in the show anyway, so I might as well come back!"

Meanwhile, Jorgie recently reassured fans her lovable character "hasn’t changed very much".

She said: "She is still the same flirty, lovable, nice and feisty character that she has always been."
